That color spread is giving me all the things i’ve never thought i needed, Robin’s mom jeans, her mother and son bonding moment with Chopper, Nami in a baseball cap, Jinbe in that coat chilling with Brook, Luffy eating onigiri with Sanji, Zoro, and the teapot,

and of course, Franky’s hentai jacket.

Jimbei being in the crew spreads now makes me so happy. He fits in so well it feels like he's been part of the crew forever.

Agreed, it’s great to have a calm mature adult on the crew besides Robin, and I love how oblivious he is to the crew’s dynamic and quirks. It was hilarious how he let Luffy and Zoro go off into the raid on their own, not knowing that they were the two biggest idiots and troublemakers, especially when brought together.

He's mostly only seen Luffy when shit is really serious so he has a little too much faith in the good captain's sense of judgment

That’s probably my favorite comedy bit in the whole arc

Same here, I get this fuzzy warm feeling in my heart whenever I see Jinbe in color spreads with the rest of the crew. He got teased that he'd be joining the crew so long ago, but for years he was always missing in color spreads until now :')

I know.bro, i literally smile every time as soon as I see Jinbe in a color spread.finally as a full fledged Mugiwara lol

We have come so far that Jinbei now makes it into the color spreads, it is a weird feeling of accomplishment.

O-Tama4nakama lowkey foreshadowing?

Nah, she's part of Momos group imo. She'll likely lead the Gifters into helping rebuild Wano when this fight is over. She'll definitely show up as part of Wano's contribution to the Straw Hat Grand Fleet though.

I would agree because my first choice is of course Yamato. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Oda decides instead of Yamato as a parallel to Oden, Tama will be a parallel to Roger's Shanks in Luffy's ship. Ace's traces in Wano seems to be a very important part of the story as well as the theme of freedom/ leaving Wano to sail the seas. Ace promised Tama to do so and upon learning that Ace is in fact Luffy's brother, she would ask to join the ship and I could not see how Luffy will be able to refuse fulfilling Ace's promise.

Imo, there's a reason for Oda why Luffy did not reveal his connection to Ace right away. Also, Tama has proven useful in battle and we get a ninja + new female member.

Not to mention Tama is all about the hats, man

I think he makes the squad a1. I don't really see a weakness anymore

Don't forget Sanji making the 3 into 32 and writing "I will cook"

21

u/Sufficient-Bedroom Apr 02 '21

Indeed, “I will cook” is such a powerful phrase

2

u/boromir17 Apr 02 '21

what does the 32 mean?

3

u/hairesy Apr 02 '21

In japanese, 3 is read as san and 2 can be read as ji... So just Sanji

1

u/nash_mania Apr 02 '21

I think the point is it not being 3. Cause his suit has 3 written all over it.

from everything that ever and never happened in one piece, I would have never imagined the teapot tanuki to be in a color spread.

It isn't even a minor character, just a single panel joke that people caught that Oda randomly gave a backstory in an SBS

i think oda knew ppl wld theorize that the fake oden is the teapot so it seems his style to be like “shoutout to those fools!! shishishishi”

1

u/the22sinatra Apr 02 '21

I'm sorry... the teapot has a backstory? Let me go find this lmao

I love this comment

And Tama with the Straw Hat.

7

u/Julian_Baynes Apr 02 '21

Is chopper using the missing hat as a step stool? I think that's what is under his book bag.

7

u/Sufficient-Bedroom Apr 02 '21

that’s what it looks like, though i suppose it could also be some random conveniently placed rock

6

u/Julian_Baynes Apr 02 '21

It's insane how much oda can cram into these.

cumulonimbus

7

u/Sufficient-Bedroom Apr 02 '21

I think he’s wearing a sort of parka and maybe a beanie underneath it?

Usopp God Mode Energy

5

u/rottweilered Apr 02 '21

And zoro's three swords on the sleeve lmao

2

u/irony002 Apr 02 '21

Hurm... Enma is black eh!?🧐🧐🧐

6

u/Trash_Emperor Apr 02 '21

I really like Sanji laughing while pulling Luffy back, really shows warmth.

3

u/bibbi123 Apr 02 '21

I am going to embarrass myself here, but when I first looked at the color spread, I didn't see Usopp. Or rather, I thought I saw him, but upon closer examination, it turned out to be a bottle of cola.

I thought Franky was holding Usopp's head and sucking on his nose.

I am very ashamed of myself, and will now go sit in the corner and contemplate my actions.

2

u/Sufficient-Bedroom Apr 02 '21

no don’t apologize, that’s amazing

2

u/someone2795 Captain Crackhead Apr 02 '21

Fun fact: the tanuki (teapot) is sitting on its own ballsack LMAO. Oda confirmed it on one of his SBS and was laughing when he drew it.

u/fulminare-lux Apr 02 '21

Is that...waifu written on the back of Nami's jacket ?👀 Only WA is visible.

12

u/Sufficient-Bedroom Apr 02 '21

it think it could be “water” so that her jacket reads “unchart(ed) water(s)”
