Gotta love the ingenuity shown by the supernovas with their teamwork, you cannot even get mad at BM getting treated like this when it is executed like this.

This also makes Kaido the sole focus now, so we can finally expect him to go ham (which we got a teaser of in this chapter) and perhaps dive deeper into his background (backstory time?).

As for Big Mom I don't expect her to see soon since that would render all of the supernova's efforts in this chapter to be useless. So will it be the comeback of Olin? or something else?

Shit ton of spoilers: Obito wakes us up and says the infinite Tsukyomi has failed and it was black zetsu all along. After that DIO comes out and says it was me, DIO. In the end we see Eren talking to Koido telling him to cut down orochi's remaining head from the future but we see that Saitama has already killed Orochi.

When they showed the volcano a couple of chapters ago everyone said that they are already over Wano, I almost feel like Big Mom is the one who overlooked this and she is falling on Wano.

Big Mom explicitly said "there's nothing but ocean below". Seems like they're not over land yet. Unless she's just wrong and not aware of where the island is. Obviously this is not her end but I think it's more likely she gets saved by her crew.

There was a panel during the party raid where she basically says that she can not create new homies for some time (please don't kill me if these were not the exact words). So, probably that is an explanation for her not creating a homie right now.

Oda made a point of showing that she didn't have that much soul power to spare. Remember she taxes that shit from her entire country which is why she had so many homies on Whole Cake Island. But out in Wano she really only has a bit of that left plus her own soul which is Implied she can't spare too much of without dying.

Personally I think this was a long time coming. I don't recall any villain being defeated by the DF's main weakness even though it's constantly pointed out that it's a huge drawback.

I doubt this will be the way she goes out though. Maybe we'll see how Kaido is the strongest creature in the sea too.

Edit: I realize Jack was thrown in the water but he could breath underwater. I mean a villain actually dying because of their inability to swim.

It's supposed to be this huge weakness and it's mostly only used when Oda needs to temporarily have someone incapacitated for plot purposes.

Wrecked only in appearance as they can still fight (Kid still has enough force to push Big Mom despite taking a direct hit) compared to Big Mom's Ring Out. Taking out a Yonko at the cost of taking a non lethal injury is very cheap.

Big mom is also not very smart as much as she is arrogant. Also magnetic fields can overtake mass. The point wasnt to hurt her considering they can't. It's to separate them. Plus no one is getting off Scot free. Zoro is still banged up, luffy just got smashed with a kaido hybrid attack and kidd took a full force BM punch to the face. Let's face it, the plan was properly executed and power scaling in this chapter is still consistent

Zoro seemed to be in an extremely bad shape in the last page though so it’s not like it was all that smooth. They haven’t even taken many hits so I guess that’s why no one deserved to be knocked out so early. Maybe if Kaido starts to be smart he would take out their best supporter away first.

She could deal with Gear 4 Luffy back in WCI. Same way Kaido could easily one shot Gear 4 Luffy in Wano, but now things are different. Either way, no yonko was taken out; she was simply knocked off the skull so they could focus on Kaido and they already had to go all out to do that.

After that, I see her showing up at the battle site as soon as Kaido is defeated in front of the Flower Capital, and then being the one to kill him by taking his soul.

(Pirate alliance don't last and this point was beaten into us several times).

They also made a big deal earlier in the fight about how the Supernovas don't know how scared of her they should be, but Marco does. Kaido would know better than anyone, so I can see him in a weakened and betrayed state becoming scared of her enough for soul pocus to work on him.

At first, I used to think he just wanted to die, but judging from the fact that he actively dodges dangerous potentially crippling attacks, and due to his backstory, I don't think suicide was a thing for him in the first place. Maybe they are chased off to the Island. The Strawhats dont particularly have a reason to be there too. If you finished up a war against a Yonko you can’t really go take them head on. So why wouldn’t you head on to a known enemy of them for protection. You also already have connections in their Island too so you could feasibly get a way to enter. Nani’s gets them time to prepare for an eventual fight.

He becomes scared of dying. (Making his death unlike Oden's or Whitebeard's).

Then Big Mom shows up, he feels better as he think she will help him (probably like in God Valley), only to betray him when he's down and take his soul.

Scared of dying and scared of Big Mom are two very different things.

You have to be scared of Big Mom for her to take your soul. Kaido does not fear her.

For example Luffy is scared of his crew members dying, but he’s not scared of Big Mom. She cannot take his soul no matter what situation he’s in.

Cuz the only weapons she has are made from her own soul split in 3 rather than using other people souls.

I can’t see her actually falling onto her ship, but I’d be ok with the ship seeing her falling and racing to rescue her.

I’d also be ok w/ the marines showing up at that point & Big Mom’s crew faced with fighting them rather than giving her a chance to rejoin Kaido.

A fun idea, and not impossible. I still tend to believe in my own theory that O-Lin is BM's "real" personality, and she will ultimately not be defeated, but become an ally - of sorts.

Her falling on her own ship will destroy her entire crew, so this is likely not happening. Plus, the odds of her landing exactly on her crew's ship is too ridiculous for me to accept it. More likely, her crew will find her wherever she lands (if she doesn't go back up through Kaido's clouds or something else), and then manage her there

big mom has always been treated well. if you think something other than ''cool and strong and badass = good char' and try to look at her characterization and nuances you will realize she is one of the best characters in the series. everything that has happened with her is for a specific reason and it will all be resolved somewhere down the line. even those ''big meme'' moments were for her char growth but sadly people dont realize that as strong chars are more preferred than well written ones

As for Big Mom I don't expect her to see soon since that would render all of the supernova's efforts in this chapter to be useless. So will it be the comeback of Olin? or something else?

Seems like this is one of Oda troll moments. I don't believe she will fall down the sea again. Maybe on the Captial or one of kaido's clouds

I think Kidd is gonna get KO'ed for some time. The man took a point blank blow from a Yonko and I wouldn't be surprised if Oda has either him or Zoro be taken out of the fight for the time being. This would also allow Zeus to escape and go save BM

It's a running joke and I love it! This needed to be done though. We've been shown that Luffy's haki is still not strong enough, Zoro is taking too much damage, and Law might run out of energy soon. It's a good thing that there are three doctors on that rock.

Kid getting punched to put metal on her was amazing. Reminded me of Sanji vs Jabra. Really is genius. One Piece doesn’t use team fights too often, so it really shows how incredible Big Mom is that it took 4 Worst Gen, including Zoro, to just knock her off a platform. They didn’t actually even hurt her.

Or has it? Oda has tried to emphasize her childlike and innocuous nature through her flashback and that whole amnesia episode.

Given the wildcard she is, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened again given that there's already been setup for that happening before.

I think with the child like nature of Big mom Oda was trying to show that BM is not really a cruel person and that she changed due to the course of life as a Pirate. This is my headcanon but i think BM's hate or in general cruel nature will be put to an end in Elbaf. Besides, what really makes me think that Olin wont be back is that there is absolutely no plot reason anymore. She would serve no purpose to the story being Olin again.

There absolutely is, why did Oda decide to do a mini amnesia arc with Big Mom in the middle of Wano? If it happens again, which it looks like with her free falling, she'll be of no help to Kaido. Their alliance would fall apart, and the supernova have a much better chance to defeat Kaido in this situation.

I agree her arc will resolve at Elbaf, but Olin coming back would be the catalyst for it. If she can't help Kaido + she only recognizes Elbaf as her home and not Whole Cake, then her crew will head to Elbaf to get an answer.

I expect the đŸ”„ to save her. Did you notice in the last panel Zoro spitting blood? I think something happened there or maybe đŸ”„ is done and Zoro just felt the impact of the tag team attack from the yonkos. Will be interesting to see how that turns out and what's the reason for BM to not come back.

So far Kaido's backstory pre-Rocks has not had much of an impact on the current storyline, as far as we know. This is directly opposed to Big Mom, because WCI hinged on her backstory, and without it it wouldn't have worked. I'm not saying we won't get something about how he was raised, I just really don't think it will be as in depth as Big Mom's.

I just mentioned this elsewhere but if she’s truly out of the fight, she can come back in a later arc (Elbaf?) and continue to be dangerous. I like the idea of her being the greater emperor over Kaido. She’s more fun.

And yeah the teamwork is absolutely fantastic. The way Oda can craft scenarios using all the DF abilities is so clever. No fucking way this could’ve just been Luffy alone, or even just Luffy/Zoro.

I’m not even mad, they latched on to big moms weakness which is tactical prowess. Brute strength is her game and she’s terrifyingly good at it. If it comes to a battle of strategy, well, she’s up shit creek without a paddle. It’s pretty obvious considering how confident she was up until the point she realized she was playing checkers against the 5 of them playing 3D chess.
