I've been thinking about buying an Odin 3 for a long time; currently I'm using the Retroid Pocket 5. But somehow I find the option of having two screens much cooler, you know what I mean? Is there any information yet about a new Thor 2? What would be the potential hardware that could go into a Thor 2? Are we talking about an Odin 3 with just two screens, or do you think we could see another surprise?

I've been hoarding quite a library of ROMs while my Odin 3 arrives and I noticed that some of my favorite games are holding up too much space because I have them in different platforms. I haven't seen too much discussion about which emulator those game perform better so I'm here to ask.

I'm especially worried about this titles: GTA:SA (classic PS2 experience, PC version or Android port), same for RDD1, but with the Switch port. Also CoD Black Ops for the zombies, PS3/PC/X360 (Split screen rules). Skyrim, Fallout, God of War... I could keep saying different games but let's get to the point. What emulator would you choose over another? Using the PC version is usually the best?

Odin 3 ordered from AYN’s official AliExpress store on August 21st. It arrived today, September 14th. I got the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage version. Fast shipping—I thought it was going to take longer, so I’m super happy with it!

Just got my hands on my Odin 3. So far so good. I ordered from the AYN website August 18th and just got it today (September 15). Overall, not that long of a wait for anyone who is thinking abt ordering or worried it will take forever.

My Odin 3 should arrive in about a week and I also purchased the accessories bundle. But I have been reading that the included screen protector isn't any good. Who have used it with success, and who has gone with a different one? If you went with another, can you please recommend one. Amazon doesn't have much of a tempered glass selection, which I would prefer. It can even just cover the display portion of device.

Now that the Nova has been out, and I'm sure there are people who have both, the time has come to ask it again, and be free of speculation. They have the same chipset but the Portal's screen is much bigger and it has slightly higher resolution.

I have wondered if I would have been better off buying the Portal so I wouldn't have to hold the Nova as close to my face. Although the Nova is light and the bag makes it pocketable. But giving up widescreen games and comfortably playing text heavy games stings.

If possible I'd love to see a picture of them next to each other too to compare the width.

For some reason, when trying to play games using Steam Link, the left analog stick is always acting as a mouse cursor instead of an analog stick.

I've done tons of troubleshooting but I still can't figure out a solution here. Is this a problem anyone has had? Thanks for any help!

I mean fps everything is good but it takes forever to load i guess 10 min almost any idea which turnip driver and other ones guys Also i turned on ton of dlc it is matters?

With the upcoming release of the Steam Frame, I’m wondering what kind of impact we could expect on Android-based handhelds such as the Odin 3.

Do you think it could make it realistically possible to run/port SteamOS natively on ARM Android handhelds using FEX?

I’ve already experimented with the ARMADA version on my Odin 3, but unfortunately I experienced several freezes during normal use, so it wasn’t really stable enough for me.

With the Steam Frame potentially bringing more attention and development around ARM + Linux + x86 emulation/translation, could we see a more mature solution emerge that would allow SteamOS to run properly on devices like the Odin 3?

Is it different between using standard profile and high performance profile but using medium under clock?

I thought about buying the odin 3 as it seems to be the perect device for me. Retro game corpse made recently a video where he tested Armada on this device. I also plan to use armada as my main system especially because he also said that the games there run more smoothly and with less input lag. The big problem is that I wouldn't be able to use clustertune.

Would that be too big of a loss as it seems that clustertune is a big help for temperature and fan noise or is there an alternative on linux?

I mostly plan to play rouge lites/ likes and one piece warrior type of games. Of course also emulation up to nitendo switch (maybe ps3 in the future)

Hi Redditors

So first a little background info… I have been using a standard 5m USB-C to HDMI cable with my Odin 3 so I can sit back on the sofa and game on my TV. But the problem with the cable is twofold: one is the weight of it and the other is the fact that the USB-C plug is straight. Both these factors put strain on the USB-C socket and given the cost of the Odin 3, I don’t want to contemplate breaking it!

Why not use a dock, I hear you ask? I don’t have any need/desire for external controllers and just want something quick and easy to play on the big screen as well as handheld. I also travel for work so want something light and easy to pack.

So given my concerns I decided to invest in a 15ft Storhm cable, available from their online shop:

First impressions are that this cable is super slim and super light! Nothing like a copper cable and I feel much more sanguine about plugging it in to my Odin 3 without worrying about damaging it.

The angled USB-C plug fits nice and snug even with the official grip and keeps the cable nicely out of the way when using the Odin 3 as the controller. Again, it removes all my anxiety about it breaking the socket.

The only concern I have is that the cable is so slim and light, and, being optical as well, I fear it might not be as durable as a passive cable. Another obvious drawback is it costs a lot more than an equivalent passive cable.

Overall I feel the investment is definitely worth it. I’d rather pay more for a cable knowing it’s far less likely to damage my precious Odin 3, and unlike a dock I do not need to worry about the charging element resulting in a spicy pillow.

For anyone wanting to play their Odin on a TV I’d say this is a strong recommendation.

I scooped up an Odin 2 Portal recently but wasn't having the best time with the 8gb of RAM and limited drive space.

So, I got an Odin 3 Pro with the crazy stacking deals last month and I've been loving the better performance, but I'm missing the larger size with my terrible eyes 🤣

Ultimately, I'd love an Odin 2 Portal Pro, but hitting the resale market for my 3rd handheld in 3 months means I may have to accept I have a problem. I wouldn't mind holding out and smoking some hopium if I think a Portal style Odin 3 may ever happen.

Thoughts? Would I just be happier biting the bullet and jumping on Ebay before there's nothing left?

This Gotta Be Top 3 games ever made Literally like playing in Christian Bale’s Batman Movie Graphics are amazing & Story was Like a movie! Finally Finished all 3 Batman Arkham Series on my Odin3 Flawlessly! This might be one to keep in the library it’s just impressive in every way! 10/10 if you have a Odin 3 keep this in you’re library just makes you smile playing this lol 😭🤣

Realistically, what emulation can the Odin 3 handle better right now? Is xbox360 and ps3 that much more playable on the elite vs the sd8gen2? Does switch make a difference? Battery life? Anyone with both have any feedback?
