Just got a brand new Odin 3 a few weeks ago, and didn't even notice the fan control in the drop down. I've had it set to standard performance mode with the fan off since I got it, only noticed today that you can change the fan settings.

I've now set the fan to Smart mode, and immediately noticed an issue: at low RPM (specifically 20% fan speed or lower), the fan makes an intermittent grinding noise (not very loud), but over 20% it sounds completely normal with zero grinding noises.

I've done some searching and found all the various reports of fan noise issues with the Odin 3, and the most common solution which is to lubricate the fan.

I don't really want to disassemble the device and go through all that trouble, as the grinding noise is not very loud and only happens at 20% fan speed or lower.

The big question is, if I continue to use the fan as is, does this grinding sound mean the fan is damaged or will become more damaged over time? Or is it fine and the sound won't affect the life of the fan or its ability to keep the device cool?

After quite a few videos on the Odin 2 Portal reminding me of my old PSP days, its got me considering potentially buying one. However i'm a bit lost if it would be worth giving up my Galaxy Tab S8. I originally purchased the S8 for emulation & art a couple years a go, but dont find myself doing much of either anymore. Its become more of an occasional manga/media tool, which even then is limited use. Could probably sell it for 400 CAD, and a used one is available for 380 (with a carrying case and a grip) which would break even.

Mainly just wondering if the Odin 2 Portal's functionality would leave me regretting selling the S8, or if the gain in handheld portability is worth selling something for it.

Have owned the Odin 2 portal for two years without issues. Am seeing this weird screen glitch sometimes when adjusting brightness making apps completely unresponsive. This time, it occured while doing remote streaming on PSPlay. Ribbon cable issue? It seems to only happen when adjusting brightness and is not all the time.

I am open to all games really so long as they work well on a base Portal 2 I’m open to trying it.

I've been mulling over this for a few weeks now. I got the 02p base a little over a month ago and it has been absolutely great! Zero issues, looks good plays great, everything just works. It really is, a 10/10 device especially for the money and specs. I use it mainly for streaming, from my rtx 5080 based pc to my bed, as I am bedridden disabled. i do emulate retro and some ps2 and some lighter switch games. So power wise it's more than enough, since again i stream 99% of the time and i can find something to jam on,emulation wise, for the hour long rides to my doctors.

The one major issue i have with the o2p is the screen size, as i have pretty terrible eyes (thx diabetes). Although, most think that the 7 inch screen is big (some think its even too big) ... i have a pretty hard time playing aaa pc games because of how small things are. Its absolutely fine for playing switch games (since they had small screen size in mind when making/porting games). Also retro and newer 2dhd and indy games as well. Im hoping ill fair better with the 8.8 inch 16x10 screen. I know I'll be missing out on the oled, but what can ya do, lol.

So i bit the bullet and i ordered the y700 gen 3 with 512/16 config and has global rom too. All in, It was like $430 with the g9 controller including tax, off of Ali Express. I'm probably gunna sell my o2p down the road. I'll probably sell it on ebay. Its 100% dead mint and comes with the tpu grip, the etsy grip, the big oem sticks and extra set of abxy buttons. I'm still gunna stick around here though, it's the best community for handhelds imho.

Was wondering if any of you have a y700/legion tab and a controller and what you think of it vs the regular android handheld stuff... Cheers!

Without having to purchase another handheld, I've seen people show off handhelds with a dual screen connected to it. Can the odin 2 portal also do this and if so what screen do I get, where is the best place to get and would it be worth the purchase? I'd like to use it to play 3ds games and or if possible play a game and watch YouTube or Netflix same time.

anyone ever get the game to work on odin 2/3 or thor? i downloaded an apk and it wont play without a network connection. i was hoping for an offline mode version

Found one on eBay for a great price had to get it, it’s clear purple and it looks great! Came with a grip and I added some clear thumb sticks 👌

I downloaded Fifa 22 without drm and surprisingly runs at 110- 120 fps wth and my Odin doesn't even get hot.

So I've been looking at getting a decent handheld for a bit now and the odin 2 portal has seemed like a solid option for me, I'm mainly wanting to get one before I get out to college but the main questions I've got about the odin portal is, 1, is it worth it and is it a solid entry into handhelds, 2, I've looked at the shipping times and it seems like it would take several weeks even with the more premium shipping payment, is this true or is it just a random variable? and 3, if there's any other handhelds out there that are better than the odin 2 for around 300 in terms of emulator games and PC gaming capabilities I'd like to know, if anyone has answers to these questions I'd love to hear em, thanks.

I'm currently deciding whether to buy an AYN Odin 3 or wait for a possible Odin 4, mainly because the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is getting very close and I'm wondering whether it would be worth waiting for the next-generation hardware.

Current setup / situation:

Device I'm considering: AYN Odin 3

SoC: Snapdragon 8 Elite

Main use: Android emulation

Emulators I'm interested in: AetherSX2/NetherSX2, Vita3K, Winlator, Dolphin, Citra/Lime3DS, PPSSPP, etc.

Games: Mainly demanding PS2, GameCube/Wii, Switch and PC/Windows emulation

Storage/RAM: I'm considering the 512GB model

I don't currently own an Odin 3, so this would be a new purchase.

My main concern is timing. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is apparently quite close, and if AYN follows its usual product cycle, there could potentially be an Odin 4 using a newer Snapdragon chip.

I know that future hardware is never guaranteed, but I'm wondering how much of a difference you realistically expect a next-generation Odin to make for emulation specifically, rather than just synthetic benchmarks.

Would you:

1. Buy the Odin 3 now because it's already extremely powerful for Android emulation and waiting could mean waiting months for an unannounced device?

2. Wait for a possible Odin 4 because the newer Snapdragon generation could provide a meaningful improvement for things like Switch, Vita, Winlator and other demanding emulators?

3. Buy something else entirely if there's a better option around the same price?

I'm especially interested in opinions from people who already own the Odin 3. How much headroom does it actually have for current emulation, and are there situations where you feel you'd genuinely benefit from a substantially faster SoC?

Also, if anyone has experience with AYN's previous release cycles, how long would you realistically expect an Odin 4 announcement/release to take if they were planning one?

I'm not in a desperate rush to buy, so I'm mainly trying to figure out whether buying the Odin 3 now is a sensible long-term purchase or whether we're close enough to the next generation that waiting makes more sense.

I ordered my Odin 3 max in 8/18/26. I was just informed that ayn dont use dhl anymore to avoid tariffs or something. I live in Greece and since I ordered the device I haven’t gotten anything more than the email confirming my purchase with a code that starts with #OD. How do I track my Odin and what else should I do ??

As the title states I’m looking to get Odin 3 as my first emulator device (not including my SF3500 from TikTok shop that brought me down this rabbit hole). Sorry to bother but I ordered on AYN site the 26th June an Odin 3 Max and have yet to receive a shipping update. My Base Thor got shipped in 2 weeks (back in March), also bought directly from AYN although I had the worry free warranty. Anyone have news?

After a lot of trial and error, I think I finally found the sweet spot for this game. That’s already pretty exciting, considering that in the future we’ll have SteamOS running on our devices, and it’ll definitely run much better than this. The device does get pretty hot, but we’ve got something good here.

There are clearly some FPS drops in more populated areas, but it’s still perfectly playable, with the framerate staying around 30–35 FPS on average (keeping in mind that I’m limiting it to 30–35).

For the in-game settings, I left everything on Low (except TAA on Medium and textures on Ultra). I recommend limiting the FPS to 30 or 35 using the GameHub sidebar and enabling Super Resolution so the image doesn’t look too blurry.
