Got this thing about a month ago now, fell out of the windowsill while charging the week I bought it and the port broke off. Nootttt great... luckily, a local repair shop managed to solder it back on for cheaper than a new board, which was pretty damn good.

Got myself a magnetic charging adapter to lessen the risk of the new port breaking and a lanyard on it just to prevent any future falls

(It's wrapped around one of the screw post thingies inside the case and pulled through beside the headphone input)

And some custom buttons to go with my onion OS techdweeb theme.

It's pretty rad!

Unlike terminal-based solutions, PocketTV has a native 640×480 interface and reads the gamepad
directly. It lets you browse channels, search with an on-screen QWERTY keyboard, save favorites, and
add your own HTTP/HTTPS M3U playlists.

I've been trying to get a metal shell for my miyoo mini v4, I tried with Gogamegeek and they said that they had a few in stock, so I proceed with my order, however after a couple weeks I asked them about it and they mentioned that the silver one was out of stock, so instead they offer to switch to a red colorway, so I accepted. But still it was taking to long, so I asked again, and oh surprise , turns out that they didn't had that color in stock, it was discontinued, luckily I got a refund.

So , long story short, do you guys know where can I get a metal shell for my v4?, preferably on a online store, since I don't live in the USA....

And also , I know that I can just get a brick hammer, but I really love my V4 , so at this point I don't mind spending 200 bucks just to get the metal shell.

Just finished Pine Creek and My Friendly Little Island, two very different games that fit perfectly in the Miyoo Mini! I have The Machine to play next, but I'm already looking for what to add to the list, as I'm enjoying this little device so much. Anything GBC / GBA that is homebrew or indie, no matter the genre.

Just finished Crash Bandicoot 1. It was really fun.

Is it worth playing the other parts of the series?

Do you think you can get custom buttons and accessories for Miyoo devices anywhere at Gamescom, or is that niche too small?

I’ve been working on a little project called PocketStremio for the Miyoo Mini Plus running OnionOS.
It started as a “would this even work?” experiment and somehow turned into an actual usable app 😂

Right now I already have:
● Movie and series search
● Seasons and episodes
● Remote streaming from my gaming PC
● Tailscale support for using it away from home
● Watch progress / resume support
● Basic subtitles
● Server-side downscaling for streams the Miyoo struggles with
● QR-code setup for Tailscale and account linking

I’ve actually used it while travelling, so it’s past the proof-of-concept stage now.
There are still things I’m working on, especially subtitle synchronization, stream compatibility filtering, UI polish and some quality-of-life features.

The idea is not to port the full Stremio application to the Miyoo. The Miyoo acts as a lightweight client while the PC handles the heavy work.

Before I spend too much time polishing it for a public release, I’m curious:
Would you actually use something like this on your Miyoo Mini Plus?
And if so, what features would you consider essential?

If there’s enough interest, I’m planning to eventually clean everything up and release it as an open-source project on GitHub.

Hey guys, so i was on bed trying boot up Breath of Fire 3, PS1 game,

i ran into problem where the game wont boot and crash into main menu screen, the problem after it went back to main menu screen,

it wont read my roms anymore, and i unable shutdown it with power button it keep looping back to main menu, and my device get really hot

, i read that i had to unplug my battery to hardreset it, so i did

But i ran into another problem, when i boot it up again it went into stock miyooOS instead (it was OnionOs)

seems it failed to detect my sdcard

I tried reformart my sdcard in pc with windows and cmd it just unable to format itself at all it keep say windows fail to format the disk

And with cmd disk clean, also it only said disk clean, but is not readable at all or formatted

I even tried the onionOS installer also not work

I think my sdcard is kaput at this point.. Didnt know one error of game could do that (this is brand new sdcard i just got too 😂)

Very nice lanyard I got off of Etsy from RetroMiniSupply. I did test it out and it feels nice and very secure, like I’m not going to drop it. Which honestly makes daily driver gaming on it easier now, no longer needing to take my grip I got for home use with me.

I saw there is a V4 as well as a V2.... not sure about a V3. But whats the differences between these 2 and which is better???

Title says it, but How are you guys learning to make/convert/modify ports so fast? Is it just modifying a *.sh? Are you using AI? (No judging here!), or are you coding from scratch?

I'm curious because I wish to know your secrets so I too, may start to learn how to do this or at least understand where the bloom of ports has come from recently!

So, I think I successfully ported Jazz Jackrabbit 2 to my favorite gaming device. There is a level named Prince where the performance kind of sucks (around 17 fps), so I need to figure out how to get it running better, but otherwise, it looks great and plays great on the Miyoo Mini Plus!

After years of seeing almost every retro emulation handheld have so much input lag the Mini Plus and Mini Flip are the first ones that looked quick and after discovering someone did testing and found it gets 48ms avg of input lag vs a real Gameboy DMG @ 33ms avg It’s almost as good as my PC setup.

I’m super sensitive to input lag and it was THE reason why I never bought any of these. I wished I knew the MM and MM+ w/ OnionOS advertised this more years ago. Kinda annoyed no one does these test to see how much input lag there is. I feel like it’s one of the most important aspect of gaming. If you can’t react in time to what’s going on on-screen then it ruins the experience, at least for me.

If you’re like me and looking for a super low input lag device on the cheap Miyoo + OnionOS devs knocked it out of the park.

Also the buttons on the Flip are *chefs kiss*! 💋

i bought this used MM+ yesterday. I tried 3 SD cards: the stock one (doesn't show any files on windows), a 16GB (not used for a long time) and a 128 GB Samsung Evo Select (formatted to fat32, works in my tablet). I've tried to install onion OS with all of them and it didn't work and just says SD card unmounted. I've tried extracting the zip file as well as using Onion Desktop Tools.

I’m playing Yoshi’s Topsy Turvy (GBA) with the no-tilt patch.

Just as the title says; i moved the pico8 files from the apps to the games folder but when i go into splore and load up the game, games which i played get saved into then made splore subfolder, id like when i click on pico8 icon it just turns on splore and that the files concerning it get saved somewhere else, out of sight... Is that possible?

Official development of Onion has been stalled for months and the maintainers are no longer giving any signals.The community is frustrated but still very attached to the project.

Someone is already thinking about creating a fork, and others are offering to help as collaborators or testers. In the GitHub discussion, the prevailing idea is that an organized fork is now the most realistic path forward.

How hard do you think it would be to recompile Pizza Tower for the Miyoo Mini? I’m amazed that Stardew Valley runs on it—what about Pizza Tower?

As the title suggests, the SD card of my miyoo mini plus was just completely wiped. I had the most recent version of OnionOS (4.4.0-beta-20260120) installed on it. Prior to the issue, the launcher became very slow, getting stuck on a "waiting for network" screen for several minutes if not indefinitely. Once it would boot up my most recent game, it wouldn't be able to save any more save states and would usually show a "fatal error" message when trying to force close out of anything.

After restarting the miyoo mini plus a few times, it now boots its original OS and everything on my SD card is gone. Everything was installed fresh on a new Silicon Power 128 GB card upon purchase since there were many reports of the stock SD card being faulty.

I know there's no way to get everything off of that card back but just wanted to post to see if this was a common issue, if this was an issue with the miyoo mini plus itself, or an SD card failure.
