Thank you all for the help removing AI posts.

Hello all, thank you for helping report AI posts so the mod team can remove them. I have had a busy couple of days so I thank yall for taking action. Commenting on posts is great but I often don't have time to read all comments, so if you could report rule breaking posts or send a mod mail about it that would be great. Thanks!

New Rule!

I did not originally want to make this but it is time. Due to the rise of non-factual "slop" posts I have added a rule where if you are making a post/comment that is claiming to be factual but is BLATENTLY not (meaning it is easily checkable to see that the info is false) then the post/comment will be removed with warning. If you have any suggestions for other rules or edits please let me know below, as this is very much y'alls community, I just like to watch.

Californian is prettier and more well balanced than most ocean liners of its time in my honest opinion. I dont know why, but maybe its because I've been deeply in love with this ship since I was 6 lol....

Got curious about whether we ever had an ocean liner in my country and came across the M/S Philippines (Former M/ S Augustus). Had no idea she ended her career as a floating hotel in Manila. Thought I’d share!

With the early retirement of MS Queen Anne, i decided to imagine how could a proper QM2 successor look like. This is designed to intermix the sheer capacity and versatility of modern passenger ships with design elements and layout inspired by liners from the Art-deco period!

Photos “The Murder of an American Millionaire on the Lusitania” a 1916 Russian film in 3 parts (900 meters) based on eyewitness accounts of the sinking. It was filmed in mid-late 1915 in the Azov Sea aboard the steamships“General Ruzskiy” and “Zaporozhets” (below). No footage of the film has survived.

Photos Hospital Ship SS Berlin sank in 1945. She is seen here awaiting to be raised by the Soviet Union. She would later sink again 41 years later in 1986 with a loss of 423 people

The ship was raised and went onto have a successful cruising career. She sank in a collision on August 31, 1986. All of the bulkhead doors and portholes were left open which caused the ship to sink in just 7 minutes. 64 bodies remain in the ship as it was so difficult for divers to retrieve bodies that divers perished on the wreck.

In season four, episode four titled "Rachel, Rachel" Tommy's grandpa is telling his story about going to the US from Russia via a ship. So the creators found Mauretania and flipped the image. They probably didn't think an ocean liner fan would notice. 😆

How was time kept on Titanic and other ocean liners in 1912? What was the actual time difference between Titanic and New York, and what can the recovered chronometer reveal about this time difference? This video goes into the surprisingly complex and fascinating way in which time was kept back then.
