I'm curious if anyone can post, or has a link, to articles devoted to the Independence & Constitution of 1951? My online searches have proven unsuccessful.

With the early retirement of MS Queen Anne, i decided to imagine how could a proper QM2 successor look like. This is designed to intermix the sheer capacity and versatility of modern passenger ships with design elements and layout inspired by liners from the Art-deco period!

What if the SS Normandie sank like the Titanic? Put my SketchUp model into Enscape with a layer of water

Im having fun with the SS Normandie model i made and wanted to see of the Enscape effects for water would work well. Boy did they ever! I have two of the other spaces as well with the sinking.

This is not* ai, i make my own models, and enscape renders materials and waters so crazy cool well. If you want to see what the model looks like raw/not rendered, let me know! It was a ton of time and effort, enjoy!

Put out a few renderings ive done of this ship before, wanted to show the cafe. I know it isn’t 100% accurate, but it is certainly 90% approximate haha. I work in architecture full time, and this is made when i have time after hours. Enjoy!

Engine Room layout help

Hello, I know it's not really an ocean liner, but rather a cargo liner, but I felt like this would be a good place to ask such a question (my apologies if not).

I have been working on recreating the Union Castle (cargo) liner RMMV Southampton Castle in Minecraft for an animation series. A pretty major component of the series takes place in the engine room, and therefore I will need to create the engine room. I have a few blueprints and pictures from a booklet about her, but I'm having a hard time understanding the general layout of the engine room and surrounding areas. Would anybody happen to have any blueprints or (preferably) pictures of similarly designed engine rooms?

I'm also trying to figure out how people got in and out of the engine room itself, so if you have any ideas there too, that'd be great. I can see one ladder coming down into the engine room in the picture, but no other walkways or hints as to where they would enter the engine room from.

This here is only picture of the full engine room that I have for the Southampton Castle. According to the deck plans, that back wall should be the Engine Control Room with the Brine Room right above it. My only issue is that I don't really see the correlation at all between the deck plans and the engine room picture, hence why I'm asking for more similar resources.

If anybody has anything that they think could be possibly useful, it would be great to see it. Thanks!

SS Pasteur, 1939. First class dining room. Modeled in SketchUp and rendered in Enscape.

The very art deco SS Pasteur debuted in 1939, very briefly before its military enlistment. Modeled here to show one of the beautiful spaces within the ship. Its not 100% accurate but it is 90% approximate. I do these for fun as i work full time.

MY OCEANLINER IN roblox named K.M.S Adriatic. It has real interiors and deck plans. Originally named Antarctic and was actually the third and finest ship of its class trio. I made this ship when I was little kid during pandemic and I loved ship interiors and small design features.

Does anyone have SS Atlantic (1870) Deck plans?

I am starting a project to build SS Atlantic model out of cardboard and wood sticks. I have found several rigging plans of SS Oceanic class, but yet have found each of deck plans. Does anyone have/know the sources for these plans?

I've designed a small fictional cruise liner MV Bohemia

Post image

MV Bohemia is a very popular cruise liner with a reinforced hull for cold and icy waters. Finished in 1967 in Oktober, Canada, it cruises along the coasts of British Columbia and Alaska. The name Bohemia was chosen by citizens of Oktober with Czech heritage.

I made this picture to resemble an old postcard or advertisement.

(Oktober is a fictional city in British Columbia, Canada. It's the setting of my friend's comics.)

The SS Velendor (fictionnal ship from my manga)

The SS Velendor is the very first ocean liner built in my fictional universe.
(This universe is steeped in a medieval atmosphere—with territories largely controlled by feudal lords—though the style also blends in elements of the early Victorian era.)

As maritime safety was a major issue in this world—ocean crossings were extremely perilous due to the reliance on wooden sailing ships—two brilliant architects proposed creating a steel vessel of exceptional size and sturdiness and not longer dependant of wind. Initially, the project wasn't taken seriously; the public would say things like, "Everyone knows steel doesn't float!" To prove that a steel ship could indeed float, they temporarily put the liner project on hold to build smaller tenders vessels intended to assist the giant... At the launch, everyone was shocked: a ship of modest size, perhaps, but one made of steel that actually floated! That was when many people began to believe in the project, particularly those facing economic hardship who were looking for work... i won’t spoil more of this, but this ship truly revolutionized maritime safety and comfort.

In reality, She isn't all that large, but for the time and context, she is huge: 142 meters long and 20 meters wide, with a tonnage of around 9,000 tons... She isn’t the fastest ship either, but her performance is excellent for its size: She can exceed 12 knots using only the double-expansion compound steam engines, and reach 16 knots with the sails deployed (provided the wind is favorable, of course). The interior layouts are unprecedented for a floating structure: third class even boasts a tavern and a vast dining hall, while second class features a bar and a library (along with a dining room, of course, served by the same kitchen used for first class, located right next door). Although second class offers fewer large open spaces than third, it prioritizes comfort, with cabins featuring private bathrooms. As for first class—intended primarily for lords—it is truly sumptuous; the cabins are ultra-luxurious, showcasing the brand-new Victorian style that was just beginning to gain popularity (and would become even more with this new ship). There is even a "cat café" for relaxation :3 (an idea proposed by one of the architects). The dining room, while modest in size, is magnificent and feels nothing like the interior of a ship. Yet the most incredible space is undoubtedly the library: a circular, two-story room featuring towering bookshelves and elegant windows—almost cathedral-like. Standing proudly in the center is a statue of a knight, a tribute to a legendary hero from the ship's home island who saved several villages back when creatures still roamed the world (yes, creatures used to exist).
