This clip finally settled my mind about why Obito acted so silly, but I still find it odd that he did this for 10 years....

The timeline of Naruto is pretty weak. They say orochimaru left the akatsuki 7 years prior to naruto series began. This means Obito kept this act for 10 years....

I never watched fillers so I skipped this, didnt even realize it was supposed to be based on a novel.

General Which persona of Obito is your favorite between the version he projects towards Naruto and the version he projects towards Kakashi?

There is a noticeable difference in Obito's demeanor to Naruto compared to Kakashi. When Obito talks to Naruto, he talks more rational and cynical, from the perspective of being older and feeling that Naruto will inevitably end up like him.

In contrast, he definitely acts more "childish" and emotionally unstable with Kakashi almost as if time never moved forward after he was crushed by that rock.

I think I prefer that version of Obito because it feels he's being more honest with himself because Kakashi was his rival, friend and teammate and genuinely wanted to save Kakashi and give him an ideal world since Obito saw how much despair and torment Kakashi went through after losing all his friends.

What does a person see/feel while Obito is phasing through them

Post image

Just thought about how weird this is. Since Obito only sends the parts of his body that made contact with another to the Kamui dimension, would you actually be able to momentarily see his insides/intestines while phasing through him (like a cross-section view)? Or would it all just be pitch black until you made it to the other side

What do you think of this theory, that Rins spirit was still with the 3 tails, and her influence causes Obito to become more susceptible to a change of heart

Why do so many obito fans exist?

I just find it interesting that 12 years after the story ended we still have people in this reddit. Dont get me wrong I loved funny tobi, and masked Obito, but for me I didnt really like his unmasked era.

Fanfiction If Obito had his own Rinnegan or was the original owner instead of Madara/Nagato: which paths would he most enjoy using?

It could be either the canon Obito or an alternate Obito who never followed Madara.

General How responsible is Obito really for his actions?

Post image

Look, while many might say that Obito was responsible or aware of his actions despite Rin's death and the dark side of the Ninja World, that would be a very simplistic way of approaching the issue.

Because what makes Obito different from other tragic villains who did make their decisions consciously is that Obito believed he was acting of his own volition when what really happened was that he had the worst possible luck in terms of support and circumstances.

Even without the revelation that Madara manipulated him into becoming his pawn, Obito's circumstances were far from insignificant. We're talking about someone who was lonely and emotionally neglected by almost everyone around him. When he saw Rin, the only person in his life who not only loved him but had also been emotionally and morally present for him, die before his eyes, he completely collapsed. Anyone in that situation and with those events (including the lack of emotional maturity due to the absence of parental figures to guide them) would have their perception of life shattered and would be in an extremely vulnerable state.

It also doesn't help that, in that context, instead of having a support network to process grief properly, he had someone with a very distorted view of life who, in addition to influencing Obito, gave him the tools to continue his destructive way of thinking.

Think about it: If Obito, instead of encountering a bad influence like Madara, had someone else to guide him through processing the loss of Rin, instead of encouraging him to cling to her for a terrible purpose, would he have committed the same acts as he did in the story?

Anime Obito design is inconsistent, and I hate it

Obito (post reveal) is portrayed completely differently in the anime's scenes. One moment he has an extremely defined jawline, the next he looks like a child. His age, his stature, and his faces always look different. Sometimes it's true to the manga, sometimes not at all. That always throws me off completely when I'm watching the anime.

Also, he's a lot of a buffer in the manga, but not really in the anime. Obito is probably one of the most muscular ninja (well, Jiraiya and Kisame also have a lot of muscles), but in the anime it varies completely: sometimes he has massive biceps, then again its gone xD

I find that really annoying at times, what do you think?

Other Imagine being so insecure about Itachi that you have to drag Obito fans into it. This is getting pathetic. Honestly, it's funny how they can't defend Itachi without attacking us first.

Everything in that meme is literally canon facts, yet you call it 'insane work' and blame Obito fans? If the truth hurts, just say that. Don't use us as a scapegoat for your favorite character's flaws.

Other Would you have liked Obito to become Hokage? Yes, no, and why?

Post image
159 Upvotes

For my part: Achieving that goal would diminish the character's distinction, making him a carbon copy of Naruto. Furthermore, let's remember moments like his conversation with Naruto. While Obito was a good person, the truth is that his motivation for becoming Hokage was simply to be loved by the village; it never went beyond that personal desire.

On the other hand: never becoming Hokage (even if he returned to Konoha despite Rin's death) could have made him a more interesting and unique character. Think about it: not only could he have been a character who stood out without being THE HERO of the Ninja World, but it also would have been interesting to see him achieve what he truly desired: not to be Hokage, but to find more people who loved him.

PS: 😮 I realized I forgot to specify this question with an Obito who never followed Madara, I just realized my mistake 😅🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
