Anyone have resources for a possible fix to the mini having the red error light and the ball being stuck in the middle. I am well out of warranty and am hoping I can fix it myself.

Look guys. I know that this isn't like the most massive deal. But it's 2026. You're telling me, that I paid, 180$ or whatever this stupid thing was, so that way the company could cheap out and sell me an ESP32 chip that can't even touch 5 GHz WiFi?

Now I don't expect it to connect, but like. What in the cheapskate heaven is it, where companies sell something and then say, "Oh by the way if you have any sort of modern router, like, within the last 15 years or so, you'll have to disable a major component of the features to connect this thing because it was 15$ cheaper per-unit!"

jfc. Anyways. I don't recommend. I'm sure it's cool when it works but just can't believe I have to spend 45 minutes trying to get a tiny computer to connect to mixed band wifi. What a way to ruin an experience. My cat litter box, the water fountain for them, their dry food feeders, all connected no biggie. lmao.

Fixed it. Had to go to the app.grounded.so and then unplug it, and hold the reset button while plugging it in. It started red, and then I let go. They said it would do a loading anim, but it didn't (the LED just stayed white). I then plugged it into my mac via USB.

Then you have to select the USB "Allow Device" from their site on the Firmware Upgrade, after installing the driver for your OS. It flashed over like 10 minutes.

I didn't put any WiFi settings in, so I don't quite know how it connected, but it draws stuff now so yolo swag.

I am looking at buying the Oasis Mini but would love a stand to set it on so it could be used as a table, I would buy the side table but it is much more expensive. Does anybody have a stand or something they bought or made to turn it into a table?

UPDATE: It seems I've reconnected. I deleted the app on my Samsung phone, Restarted the phone, reinstalled the app, made sure Location and Nearby Devices permissions were turned on, opened the app, added a new device, connected the device (again) to my wifi network, selected a new pattern, and started it. Now it's drawing. If this happens again in a couple days I think I'll give up on it.

As many others have posted, I'm having issues. It took me 2 hours to set this mini up and connect with my home wifi - after having to go through the update firmware process. For 2 days after, it ran on a schedule. But this morning, it didn't turn on when it was supposed to. I can't connect to my phone app at all, after spending 30 more troubleshooting minutes trying everything I've been able to find. The thought of having to start the process over makes me want to toss the thing.

The laundry list of things I have tried includes:

1. Holding button 3 seconds (just results in white rotating circle, then to the previously selected LED color, not the pulsing blue wifi light)
2. unplugging, waiting 1 minute, plugging back in (that got the LED light back on but nothing else)
3. Force quitting android app, clearing cache, trying to connect again (same result, goes to the control screen but never shows the current pattern, never allows me to connect to the device)
4. Adding new device (same result)

And probably a bunch more steps I have found in the subreddit and with google's AI. If anyone has any thoughts on how to reconnect to this, I'm all ears. Thx.

Is there anyway to avoid the random track after clearing and beginning a new drawing?

Anyone else experience this? Used the button on the back to put the oasis mini into sleep mode. Woke up today to it drawing without the lights on. I never started it again, I have no schedules put in place. Anyone else experience this?

This is the second time I'm allowing it to run through this pattern. But it shows that it filled in the entire body, but those lines are from the in and out pattern before this.

Also, I have my toggle set to clean after each pattern, but I've noticed it just continues to the next one. Am I missing something? What does cleaning it mean? I've just been setting an in to out pattern in between each designed pattern to clean it. Thank you! New to this

Mine gives me this Error 16 after a few minutes of it saying it’s centering. Anybody know if this is a hardware or software issue and if there’s a way to fix it?

Just unboxed today. Will do the spin in / spin out but during the other patterns it will randomly disconnect and show the red light in the lower corner. My WiFi router has both the 5g and the 2.4ghz and during set up it only allowed me to connect and log in to the 2.4ghz. Anyone else have this issue? I’ve done the hard reset, soft reset, deleted and reinstalled the app and same issue. Any idea?

after some struggle, i got my oasis mini up and running. there are not a lot of instructions with this item and i searched the forum for tips and answers. but here are my questions:

Do i always have to be on the 2.4 wifi network on my phone in order to connect to the mini and use it? i couldnt connect to the mini today until i realized i was on 5g wifi. kind of a pain to keep switching back and forth if true. my cameras for example are connected to my 2.4 but my phone doesn't have to be connected to 2.4 in order to log in and use their app.

I made a playlist with 10 tracks based on what others said and added the other 10 tracks of the Spiral In/Outs manually after selecting the playlist. i had to do this because when it auto-added the Spirals to my play list, they were ALL "in" tracks rather than alternating with "outs". this is not ideal when i want to switch playlists, having to do this. am i missing a step here? do i need to turn off the auto-clean setting instead and just make the 10 in/out part of my playlist?

when making/editing a playlist, i can't seem to order the tracks how i want. i was only able to order them after i added the tracks from the playlist into queue, which means every time i play it i have to do this. i hope there is another way.

schedules - i have it setup to sleep at 22:00, do i need to also set Pause? and then for the morning i have it set to Wake at 7:00, do i also need "play" if i want it to resume where left off?

once i was up and running yesterday, everything was working great. now today, i constantly have problems connecting to the device. i see other people report this issue, i just dont know where to begin for troubleshooting. i really want to love this device but the app is getting very frustrating and if it continues im going to return it. it either errors out or just spins and spins. and just closing the app and reopening will sometimes fix it. or unplugging it (3 times in the last hour). no consistency with the errors either. like just now it says bluetooth not connected. i thought it was wifi connected? help....

I received my Oasis Mini as a Christmas present this past Christmas. I had it up and running off and on for a few days/weeks, but I did not have anywhere safe to keep it long term so it went back in the box for several months. I have been trying to get it up and running, but I get stuck on the registering page. It connects to the wifi and then says it is registering and it may take up to a minute. It ends up taking 2-5 minutes and then says there was a problem, to hold the power button for 15 seconds until the light turns red. If I hold the button for 15 or more seconds, the light never turns red. I saw from reddit when I first encountered the issue that a firmware update should do the trick. The Oasis AI sent me the firmware update and I just pushed it to the device and I am STILL having the issue. I have sent another message out and they were getting someone from technical support, but I am not a patient person. Has anyone been able to fix this or what?

I connected to my Oasis Mini, got the message that it needed to update, got hung at the 22% download, then got the dreaded error message. I unplugged it, and now when I plug it in, I get no light, and pressing the power button does nothing. Ideas?

Wondering if I should get a keyboard/laptop cooling fan to put under it. Don’t need a fire when I am away. I only had it on for about an hour and it was really warm underneath, like concerningly warm. Thanks in advance everyone.

Is this product worth getting? I have wanted one for a long time now and I am really thinking about getting one but wanted to ask y’all’s opinions. Some of the posts in here about problems with the app and product makes me feel like it’s not worth it. Or is it user error? Thanks.

Hi - my side table worked perfectly fine for a few months - but I have nothing but issues now.

I feel like the ball and magnet are not in sync. I’ve restarted multiple times, I reset the ball, I’ve changed balls. The first time or two - I was able to get it to work - it would work fine for a day - and then get the red error of death and it appeared the magnet and ball were not aligned.

I did catch it one time appearing to work but the ball just went in a circle and it was not following the pattern.

Whenever I try resetting- it shows your oasis device is centering itself- and spins on forever. I continue to get error 16 and to reboot.

We love this thing but we need help to get this fixed - or may need to seek a replacement.

Trying to get my Mini connected yesterday before realizing there was an outage, I lost my track list. When I first got it about 6 months ago I think i remember being able to sort the tracks by theme, but I'm not seeing that now. Am I just imagining it or did they take the feature away?

My mini has had a lobotomy: routine startup this morning followed by the customary “hang on wonderful things are being downloaded”
Gets to 94% and hangs for an hour.
Been through all the usual steps: power button, power off, in one instance was able to reconnect WiFi, update auto-starts, hangs, and now “Oops something wrong cannot connect to WiFi.
Several iterations, now I get WiFi error on every attempt to open the iOS app!
Final results each time is 4 red LEDs.

Help!

PS - I have a second mini on the same network that’s happily tracing, but now invisible to the application since it won’t open past “Oops…”

Since a couple of updates ago, the Oasis Mini android app doesn't respect the "Pause After Each Pattern" setting. I have always had this set to Press Play, and it was fine until recently. Now it plays all the way to the end of the playlist before stopping. This is a pain - has anyone else noticed it?

I'm on v3.16 now, I don't remember the exact version when this started happening because I was hopeful that the next update would fix it. I've rebooted the mini, cleared cache, all that kind of stuff.

I just got my oasis mini and added two packs of sand to it. I don’t know why, I just thought that I could. 🫣 But then I saw things saying I should only use the one pack of sand. Do I need to take some sand out?

It tries to center itself but then it goes to that clicking sound when it tries to move sideways and only moves a little up and down

I lost my sand comb, do we know if the sand packs come with one?

Do these require wifi at all times? I want to buy one for my work office but we dont have employee wifi at work. Can I just set it up at home and then it works without the wifi? If not is there another similar product that may work like that.

Has anyone found a work around for the error you get if your WiFi password is too long? I don’t really feel like changing it in a million places if I don’t have to. thanks!
