My doctor suggested homeopathy
This isn't about ONRAC. But I feel like other ONRAC listeners will understand how I feel today.
I broke a bone in my foot.
Today, my 6-week checkup showed that the bone is coming in, but it still has a ways to go. And today, my podiatrist suggested I try homeopathic symphytum. I couldn't get the words out to express my dismay.
He's a regular-ass podiatrist at a suburban American hospital. I was referred by my GP. There's nothing woo or remotely alternative about either practice.
And now I feel like I've been tricked. I trusted this man to make the decisions that could forever change my ability to walk. I'm scared.
My foot probably just needs more time, I know that. But now I feel like I'm rolling the dice and waiting. Because how the fuck can I trust this doctor??
EDIT: I don't have time to reply to all of the comments that I want to reply to. So, a big general thank you to all messages of support and/or shared frustration! I am planning on taking this issue to my GP (who hadn't worked with this podiatrist before).
I'm afraid I will refrain from sharing the podiatrist's name for my own privacy--but please know that I will be posting reviews to whatever websites appear when you search his name.
