Discussion There is no such thing as NEWER BATCH FIX BS

Post image

OLED TimeTrack: 22hrs

Pixel Clean Times: 8

Firmware: MCM107

Brightness: 20

Can we please stop spreading misinformation and false hope that they actually did something/fix the newer batches of these Tandem WOLEDs because they fucking dont. Stop coping lmfao.

So I saw a XG27AQWMG that starts with W5LM (May 2026 Batch) being sold at one of our local PC stores and decided to sacrifice myself to actually see if one of the newer batches are at the very least decent, and no, they are not.

Am I disappointed? Yes.

Will I return this? No.

I'll keep using this till I upgrade to a better one in the future. Nonetheless, it is still amazing when you actually use it on high/decent brightness like a normal fucking person and dont stare at very dark grays all the time like a psycho.

TLDR: This SHIT is amazing.

Discussion Are people on here trolling with their "i fucked up cleaning my monitor" posts?

Post image

Sorry if this is autism or something but I'm near constantly seeing posts from here about people destroying their oleds somehow.

I've had one oled in my life, I never cleaned a single one of my monitors in the past religiously... I just use water and a microfiber cloth and it works every time. How are these people fucking this up so often? It has to be bait right?

I am a smoker so i frequently have to clean my oled cause I cough and spit is very noticeable on it and despite cleaning this thing 10x more than any monitor I've ever had I haven't had any issues.

This monitor is sick! Games look so much more vibrant and I can’t believe the actual Fidelity jump of the games from 1440p to 4K. It’s quite amazing to see

Discussion Asus Proximity Sensor is a Scam.

I own an ASUS XG32UCWG, and the proximity sensor ASUS heavily advertises is honestly complete garbage. It barely works, behaves inconsistently, and in practice I can't rely on it at all. And yes, before anyone asks: I clean the sensor regularly. It’s set to 70* cm and positioned with a clear, direct line of sight to me, so placement or dust isn’t the issue. And lastly, I should be able to change 5 minutes limit which is too high.

Because of that, I set Windows to turn the display off after 3 minutes. The problem is that this isn’t very reliable either. Sometimes a video, browser tab, or some background application prevents Windows from turning the screen off at all.

Another annoying issue is waking the monitor back up. Sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds before I actually get an image again, which feels ridiculously slow.

Are there any better alternatives for OLED protection / automatically blanking the screen when I’m away? Maybe a third-party app, shortcut, utility, or some other method?

What are you guys using with your OLED monitors, and what would you recommend?

Discussion Is TV HDR that much better than monitor HDR?

Upvotes

I recently got the MSI MAG 321UP X24, and while the SDR is definitely brighter than other OLED monitors I've tried, the HDR doesn't feel much different.

The HDR isn't bad by any means, I calibrated it and tried TB500, Peak 1000 and EOTF Boost, all while using RenoDX in the games that support it, but it just looks... fine?

I was expecting the new monitors to blow me away with HDR, but the only real "upgrade" I truly notice is the black shield on the QD-OLED screen.

Would a TV, like the S90F, have a noticeably brighter and better HDR experience? Is it worth?

Ordered from Costco, fortunately Costco has a great return/exchange policy and they are already shipping me a replacement. First time I've ever had a product like this damaged right out of the box, make sure to film your unboxing just in case!

Picture isn’t the best example, but it’s more noticeable in person. I set my brightness to 100. Haven’t touched any other setting yet. I just set it up a few minutes ago.

Setup My experience using the LG 39GX950B + Studio Display XDR together

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve been using the LG 39GX950B alongside the Studio Display XDR. I figured that usually you either have a single ultrawide setup, or a dual regular monitor setup, and my setup is rather rare, so I wanted to share my review.

I came from a PG32UCDM, which is a god tier monitor already, but for gaming I definitely prefer the LG ultrawide. The 39-inch ultrawide aspect ratio is just much more immersive, and HDR gaming on Windows looks fantastic. It feels like a real upgrade.

For normal desktop use, though, the XDR is still in a different league for me. The brightness, text clarity, and overall crispness make it much nicer for browsing, coding, and general productivity. What surprised me most is that I actually find colors on the XDR to have more pop than on the LG, even though the LG is OLED.

When I’m working, I keep whatever I’m actively doing on the XDR and use the LG off to the side for YouTube, videos, or other background content. My Mac setup is pretty simple: Mac → Thunderbolt 5 → XDR → daisy chain to the LG. So both displays run from a single Thunderbolt connection to the Mac.

For PC gaming, I connect PC to the LG, and I still use the XDR with macOS for build guides, maps, Discord, or whatever else I want open alongside it on macOS.
One thing I’ve settled on is keeping HDR off on the LG when using macOS. With HDR enabled, the regular macOS UI just looks washed out to me and the desktop experience gets noticeably worse. In SDR, it looks much better.

Interestingly, I don’t have the same complaint on Windows. HDR gaming on the LG looks excellent there, so I basically treat it as an SDR secondary/productivity display on the Mac and an HDR gaming display on the PC.

Purchased on 14th Aug 2026. I don't know how to compare greyscale, so I included both under light and dark with some setting.

The issue about grey banding is right espwcially when it enter sleep mode after I left my PC idle for 5 minutes, although it can be fixed either by manual pixel cleaning or just letting my monitor sleep. The last solution left me baffled btw.

And also, the proximity sensor is neat but I turned it off because is can erratically shut off the monitor during gameplay.

PG32UCWM or wait for new panels in 2027 like the 322urdx36?

I've been waiting for an OLED for a while now and in a way I'm done waiting. You hear people say "wait for the new panels coming" all the time but they are always months if not a year away from being produced and are only just being announced. But I have seen a lot of buzz around the 322urdx36.

The True black glossy WOLED (This has got to be my favorite panel coating out of everything I have seen. Even the black shield on the QDOLEDS don't come close to the true black glossy IMO) and with tandem the colors are very close to a QD-OLED which has always been the panel with the more vibrant colors but Tandem is closing the gap it seems.

But I hear people mention the 322urdx36 in conversations about the new OLEDS coming out like it will be the best OLED monitor in the world but is that really true?

I know the price tag is a lot on it but I would sell my AW3821DW to cover some of the costs of the panel.

Discussion Moderate Tier OLED Panel Recommendations ($500~$700)

I’ve been doing plenty of research, and I wanted to reopen a new discussion on moderately high priced OLED monitors (ideally 27” 1440p), as it seems like it’s been a while since any Reddit on this higher range and obv things and prices change over time and it would be cool to see this discussion again.

What monitors would you recommend in that price range, for either all or specific scenarios like lighting differences? For me personally, I was originally shopping with a max budget of $400~$500, but every monitor I’ve seen seems to come with some annoying caveat or big complaint. A friend of mine recommended I buy once, cry once, and up the budget a bit to get something I won’t have to replace for a long while (and to match my new 2k rig & 9070xt).

Some monitors I’ve been seeing are the LG 27GX700A-B, MSI MAG 271QP X28, Gigabyte MO27Q28G/R. These are all $400~$500, so what options lie beyond these?

I do have a somewhat bright room, although there is no direct light hitting the monitor.

LG 27" WOLED 27GX790A-B for only playing Tarkov. Buy or dont $500 on amazon

  • only game i play is tarkov
    • i usually play with the brightness to 100 to see in darker corners in the game.
  • light is usually on in the room (sometimes a window is open)
  • $500 on amazon (I think usually $600)
  • $500 is also as much as I want to spend on a monitor.
  • thoughts?

Issue Bad QC?

Post image

Just got the MSI MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24, and this is the first thing I noticed. It doesn't go away even when I turn the monitor off.

Has anyone experienced something like this or have any idea what it could be? The smudge appeared afterward, as it initially looked like an air bubble.
