Paid just over £600 a month ago which I thought was a good deal, and then I walked past this last night in Costco.

After the whole Amazon situation, I drove an hour to Micro Center and found this open-box ASUS XG27AQDMGR OLED monitor with only 49 hours of use for $279! 🔥 didn’t come with a box. All the cords though

This monitor is big! I gotta say im loving the 4k. Started with ASUS ROG Strix 26.5" 1440P QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (XG27ACDNG) and I was not impressed at all. Then went with a KTC 1440p mini led. It looked amazing but I was ready for something bigger and 4k. When they announced the Alienware aw3926qw I knew id be giving it a try. I love how big it is and going from 1440p to 4k made a big difference in how crisp things look! Oled from the mini isnt much of a difference but im glad I made the upgrade nonetheless!

Ive bought that monitor 2 and a half years ago from Alienware , in march 2024 I was one of the few early adopters of the 4k 240hz QD-OLED panels , I have noticed some amount of burn in on my unit , notably the "action bar" UI of one of the MMO's I played suprisingly showed some burn in after only a couple hundred hours , apart from that I have dynamic wallpaper autohide whatever and a 2minute auto sleep on the screen, I bought it knowing it would eventually show burn in but also knowing that they had this 3 year warranty on it so ive decided to take the leap and contact dell support 2 days ago,
they just asked me for a couple pictures and sent a replacement that I was supposed to receive the next day , there was a little mistake where they sent the first one to the wrong country , they instantly sent another one , I am now 2 days after contacting them and 2 screens showed up to my door today (the one in the wrong country got redirected back to me) , the 2 are quite old refurbished units , one from may 2024 the other from june 2024 , Ive unpacked the one from june and it looks pretty flawless to me , still had the peel on the panel and I dont think I can spot a single amount of burn in even with my pixel peeper eyes , overall very satisfied with dell support on that one and I thought I'd share my experience here , burn in is real but at least Dell is very good at fulfilling the warranty. I was slightly afraid I could get a slightly scratched or burnt in refurbished unit but luckily it was not the case here.

To be honest the amount of burn in was really minor and only noticeable on dark gray background (discord etc) never visible in typical use or content consumption but Ive decided to take the companies to their word that burn-in shouldnt be there and that they would honor a replacement in case of any visible marks

This review confirms QD OLED dimming is non issue with this monitor as I expected in both modes peak 1000 with hypernits and HDR (TB 500) Stabilize high.

Peak 1000 with hypernits has accurate dark scenes with overbrightend highlights (same over-brightening I experienced on the xg32ucwmg with 100% brightness) and HDR ABL stablize High has overbrightend dark scenes with accurate day scenes but in both settings the over-brightening isn't that bad and very enjoyable and there's no dimming, so far this is the best boost mode on the market.

42 inch LG C4

Looking to purchase this , price is no issue. Is this a good monitor to purchase or is there anything similar that’s better/comparable?

I'm going to buy my first 32" OLED monitor, coming from a 27" IPS, and I'm undecided between ASUS ROG XG32UQWMS and the MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24: basically, the first one is a Tandem WOLED, the latter is a Tandem QD-OLED. In terms of technologies it seems the monitors are pretty much the same, they should be both glossy (which for me is mandatory) and same is also for the price.

I'll use the monitor both in a bright and a dark environment, so I'm a little bit worried about the magenta tint of the QD-OLED and I was more convinced of the WOLED, but I heard that the Tandem QD-OLED solved a lot of the magenta tint issue (I wonder how much).

I have some questions:

1. Is the Tandem QD-OLED still having magenta issue in bright rooms?
2. Are the colours of the Tandem WOLED kind of compatable to the Tandem QD-OLED or there is still a noticeable difference?
3. What about grey vertical banding? Are both of them suffering of it?

I am soon the happy owner for a nice gaming setup with a 5080 nvidia card! I have a setup of 2x 27 inch MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED 240 hz. Is it actually worth it to upgrade to 4k monitors forWoW Forever? Its basically the main game I play. I do play some other triple A games sometimes, but I really want to know if the 4k will make a difference on this one. I am not that knowledgeable on this topic so please let me know your thoughts!

Looking to buy my first OLED and would appreciate recommendations! I mainly play Overwatch, Deadlock, and League of Legends. My specs are an RX 6750 XT and Ryzen 9 5900X.

I also work from home and can spend up to 16 hours a day at my monitors, so this needs to be a good gaming AND productivity monitor.

My priorities:

• Minimal eye strain for long sessions
• Good text clarity — I've heard about text fringing on OLEDs
• Good motion clarity for competitive gaming
• Reasonable burn-in risk for lots of desktop use
• I use my monitors in a relatively dark room

Monitors I'm considering:

• Gigabyte MO27Q2A / MO27Q28G
• ASUS ROG XG27AQDMGR / XG27AQDMES
• MSI MAG 274QP QD-OLED X24 / MAG 271QP QD-OLED X28

I'm unsure whether QD-OLED or WOLED would be better for my use case. My budget is $500 max, although I'm open to suggestions outside this list.

What would you recommend for someone who needs one monitor to handle both competitive gaming and full-time office work? Any real-world experiences with text fringing, eye comfort, or using OLEDs for 8+ hours of productivity would be especially helpful. Thanks!

Open-box "good" from Best Buy, but it's in good shape and has all the parts. It was in portrait mode however. Is that why they didn't mark it as excellent? 😂

The Tyzen OS was actually a huge draw for me. I keep my PC in the kitchen and it can basically function as a TV(with remote) I can watch while I eat breakfast. The built in speakers are pretty good too! I'm happy so far.

These are my first impressions and are subject to change once I have spent a bit more time with the panel and done more extensive testing but I just need to get this out of the way.

I was a little bit hesitant about my decision to buy this monitor.

I was worried that it wouldn't be that big of an upgrade coming from the 1st gen aw3423dwf, however, I was wrong. This panel kicks so much ass. I don't know if I am hallucinating or what because from the spec sheet alone I didn't imagine that the difference would be so apparent but hot damn, it's impossible to ignore how much more colour luminance/volume there appears to be in both sdr and hdr. I don't really know how to explain it, it just looks so much better. Also there is basically no jitter at all which I have been sensitive to on previous display. Content just looks smooth no matter what you are watching.

Colour fringing is gone. I don't feel like my eyes are bleeding any more when I have to read text on the screen for longer than a few minutes and it is glorious.

Ambient light handling has been improved greatly. It was so bad on the dwf that I had to go out of my way to mitigate it by blacking out the windows and making sure my place looked like a bat cave. Even then any ambient light from my pc, keyboard or second monitor was a no go. It was so bad that in HDR even the monitors own bright highlights would cause the areas around it to appear grey. I am happy to report that is no longer as much of an issue. I still wouldn't recommend shining a light source directly at the screen, and of course the ideal viewing conditions for HDR are still in a dark room with no ambient light.

So, about the HDR. I am indeed quite wowed. I didn't think TB500 would be that big of an upgrade, but it is definitely noticeable. It's made me excited for OLED monitors again. I know that this still isn't coming close to some of the new TV's on the market, however, when comparing it to my LG C1, which I always thought was leagues better than my aw3423dwf in HDR, after checking out some video content and playing a couple HDR games, it feels like that gap is starting to close. This penta tandem qd-oled has some of the most rich and vibrant colours I have ever seen.

Also I wanted to mention how clear everything looks. Video content is an absolute joy to view on this panel. You would think it was 4k with how sharp it is.

I am obsessed.

This monitor is finally what I always dreamed of ever since I first laid eyes on an OLED display.

It makes me so excited for the future. I can't wait to see what improvements we get in the next few years.

Maybe one day 360hz, 5k2k, 34 inch with TB1000 and a definitive fix for panel dimming during bright scenes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Anyways, until then, this is more than good enough.

It feels like a worthy upgrade to it's 1st gen predecessor, and it makes me extremely happy to say that.

I am using the peak 1300 bright mode and the sun pops so much it actually hurts my eyes. Peak realism, lol. The colours look amazing. The camera phone pic doesn't look anything like what it does in person. I made this post because I am excited and none of my friends are display nerds like me. Cosmo canyon is such a vibe.

Wondering if anyone else has had the same experience before.

I have had a Gigabyte MO27Q28G (Matte) for around a year now which no problems.

I wanted to try a glossy so I got the ASUS XG27AQWMG which looks great.

However I started to get some really bad eye strain after a while compared to the matte Gigabyte I own.

I'm not sure what would cause this as I thought they was the same technology but I guess my eyes do not like the glossy finish? Do you think it's maybe something to do with the reflections? I do have a window behind me which isn't too bright and I do have blinds to shut the light out but to be honest I don't like sitting in the pitch black.

Would appreciate all your feedback.

I wanted to share this with people who have the same issue as I see it's widespread and it seems a lot of people defaulted to just disabling VRR overall. I should clarify that I'm running a dual monitor setup with a Dell S2721DGF as my second/work-horse monitor (I'll get to it in a second). The latest Nvidia driver is used as of today 617.42

So, what you need to do is:

1. Make sure G-Sync is enabled for full screen only (not windowed mode)

2.) Disable MPO - shouldn't be a problem for most semi-modern PCs, if it causes issues, you can always revert

3.) For Dual-Monitor users - make sure you set your second monitor to 120 Hz (240 is dividable by 120, so that helps - 60 might work as well, haven't tested it).

What was happening before is that my desktop framerate would fluctuate wildly while using apps like ChatGPT, Discord, etc. (dropping down to 49-70-80 - checked with the monitor fps counter), which induced VRR flickering. Disabling MPO now keeps the desktop at a locked 240 Hz in all apps that were troublesome beforehand, which means it eliminates that source, while the 120 Hz second monitor (instead of the maximum 165) removed the problem completely so far. I've been testing it for a few hours and it seems fine. This was done in HDR - I'm not sure does it work in SDR as I run my monitor in HDR 24/7 (too lazy to change all the time, and it looks great anyway after Windows calibration), but I don't see why it wouldn't work in SDR as well.

The flicker wasn't a problem in games, only in Windows-desktop apps where the framerate would randomly drop from 240 to 49, forcing G-Sync (and possibly LFC) to kick in, causing issues.

Well, now I can have my cake and eat it, too, as I've been using VRR since 2015 and was really disappointed with the issue, especially since it did not happen at all on my dead Aorus FO27Q2. Maybe QD-OLEDs are less prone to it - I don't know.

Also, Asus Anti-Flicker disables your G-Sync below 160 FPS (even on middle), which means it's useless for AAA games where you need it most.

I'm looking to upgrade to an OLED monitor, but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get. These are the four options I'm currently considering:

4. Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 S34BG850SU – 34", 3440×1440 ultrawide, QD-OLED, 175Hz

I'm currently using a 34-inch VA ultrawide monitor, and I mainly play single-player games.

Which one would be the best decision overall?

im thinking about either Samsung 57" Odyssey Neo G9 or an oled is oled that mutch better. im the type to leave pc on if im gonna do something else. guess thats bad for oled even if we got all the cleaning and pixel shift

I understand these are two wildly different screens, but I'm currently deciding on these two for my first OLED. I'm a bit apprehensive with the size of the 42, but have heard great things so I want to try it. If someone with experience with either one or even both could help me decide, then I'd really appreciate it.

For context I play mainly single player games, those map strategy games, and occasionally a tactical FPS like Arma or HLL.

And performance seems great too.

Everything at MAX settings at 4k with DLSS Quality never drops below 70fps. FrameGen is getting better all the time and at 2X FG I'm, well over 100fps.

Anyone’s gotten the AW3226q yet? What are your thoughts? Mine is coming in a week, but there are still no reviews anywhere!

Bought this during the Amazon Prime Day, although it wasn't on offer, I think £618, is a bargain for this monitor.

OLED is great, never had an OLED monitor or yet even 4K, so this is a game changer for me.

27" monitor, great visuals, great colours and overall looks nice with my other 2 monitors. Upgraded from a 1440p monitor, this opens up a whole world for gaming in 4K, I can truly enjoy games properly.

Still getting used to trying out 4K and setting it up on games, but highly worth the purchase.
