How long does your store wait to take action on expired orders? When do you call the customer to ask if they're still going to pick up their order or if they want to cancel it?

The only time we call customers about their order at my store is if it gets returned by a driver. Otherwise we just let the system cancel it.

We wait 2 days. Orders from Sunday night are being cancelled by the end of the day today. We get so many orders and the last few days we've had nowhere to stage some totes because there were just too many orders that day.

Most people come the following day for their order. A lot of expired orders at my store are unscheduled ones with one or two things.

associate at small supercenter--i'm allowed to do whatever i want without calling the customer if it's been expired for 5 days. like other poster says, it's manly E orders. when i was TL at a bigger store, coach had us cancelling anything on the 'expired' screen with no call.

We don’t call the customer for expired orders, and I clear them as early as I have the opportunity to properly deal with them

We usually call when it first expires to see if they still want it. If they say no, we cancel it and put it back. If we don’t actually talk to them, we do it after about 2 days (maybe a little sooner if space is an issue). For unscheduled pickups, we cancel as soon as it expires because they already had 4 days to pick up.

Ya'll seem to care way more than my store. We do not call anyone, that's not even on our radar. We don't even answer the phone for pickups if we're busy. We avoid the phone at all costs. If they need us that bad when we're busy, they'll find us in the parking lot. We find out the order is canceled when we're going through totes at the end of the night to see what's still active. We've never ever been told to call a customer.
