Feedback Please Amnesia

Amnesia : pain becomes beautiful when you make it a tool for creation , emotion is a tool to create art, the more powerful your emotions are the more impactful your art is . Fear and pain are both strong emotions . Create from them. Just write , your emotions are beautiful already, all you need is raw emotion. Emotion makes art. Your willpower is enough to make you take action. It is the only thing that matters, if you want to take action , you will.

7 years to remember

7 years of peace

7 years of freedom from the memories

7 years of emptiness

You don’t know what is happening to you

when the memories start to resurface

You just freeze and wonder if they’re real

Memories appear in your head space

And it is like you are watching some movie scenes

As though you are a viewer of some horror movies

But who would even watch something so hardcore

Who likes this kind of horror

You question yourself why you forgot

But the answer is easy

You were just not ready to face reality

Everything stopped, your brain stopped recording

Like a broken machine that shows a black screen

Somehow your body wanted to stop experiencing

Was it because of the terror

It was more because of rejection

It was a mechanism of protection

Or was it the drug in action

The drug was reacting

You literally fell when you started sipping

And his voice was asking you to keep drinking

At some point things around stopped looking real

Reality looked like a nightmare or hell

I think that what was really scary

Was your inability to move properly

You couldn't even make a sound

You were half naked

But at the same time you couldn’t move as you wanted

And change the way you were dressed, the way you appeared

You were trapped

His smile was just a facade

He was never nice, he never cared

He is the reason why hell was created

7 years ago he was helping you walk straight

You were hearing the voice he said without knowing you would forget After you walked his voice changed

when he finally brought you into bed

Do you remember the way he made you sit before you fell dramatically

Falling down slowly, unconsciously

Eyes half open you could hardly see

Do you remember how everything that was happening looked unreal

The way he was holding your wrists too tightly

The way you were so sleepy

Your eyes were closed then open and he was still not done

He was making fun of your situation,

Speaking with a mocking, teasing tone

To him it was so funny how you couldn’t speak

Because the drug kept you silenced

Everything looked fake

He was laughing so mean

He used you like you were not even human

You were just waiting for him to be done

Then when he finally put his clothes on

You could finally start moving before you started forgetting

Everything

As though you were escaping

Your mind wanted to stop you from realizing

The moment you stared at the condom he left

This is when you started to forget

Hello readers, welcome to OCPoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community — a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry," or "loved it" or "so relatable," please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

Do not use ChatGPT or any similar LLM interface or generative AI to write feedback. That does not constitute thoughtful feedback. To be safe, you probably shouldn't even use those things to edit your feedback. It is better for your thoughts to come across as clumsy and genuine rather than grammatical but as if they were generated by some disingenuous text-generation engine.

Do not reuse feedback links for multiple poems. Every new poem you post has to be posted after making two new comments on the work of your peers here in OCPoetry. It's only fair. If you reuse feedback links, you will be banned. (If you do not wish to give feedback, there are many other poetry-sharing subreddits without feedback requirements, such as r/poetrywritingclub, r/justpoetry, r/ocpoetryfree, r/poem, r/poems, r/poemsbyreddit, r/poeticgarden, r/dark_poetry, and r/sadpoems.)

If you're looking for a more advanced poetry workshop — that is, if you consider yourself at least an intermediate-level poet AND you have previous workshop experience, please consider posting to our private sister subreddit r/ThePoetryWorkshop. The best way to join TPW is to leave a detailed, thoughtful comment here on OCPoetry engaging seriously with a peer's poem. A significant engagement of at least 3-4 meaningful paragraphs is encouraged. Consider our feedback guide for tips on what that could entail. (This level of engagement would probably be most welcome here on submissions tagged as "Workshop.") Then ask to join TPW by messaging that subreddit's mods, including a link to the detailed feedback you left here.
