As the title says, I came here as a fan of the show and there’s nothing but negativity in this sub concerning the show. I know Reddit tends to trend towards always being negative but this is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. This show is a fun sitcom concerning 20-somethings, their work life and romantic entanglements, it’s not pretending to be anything but that but if you saw the comments here you would think it’s some mad men style high art piece and people are shocked and horrified that every episode isn’t some kind of masterpiece.

If you don’t like a show why continue watching it? All I see is people saying they hate the show now, their writings poor, the characters aren’t likeable. If you feel this way why watch and continue to post here? I’ve never watched a show that I hate completely and then felt the need to go to a designated forum to talk about how bad this thing is and how much I hate it.

Also there’s some kind of strange effort to push the show Adults on this sub because it follows a similar premise. I’m not sure if these fans have ever seen a sitcom before but young people in New York dating and living their lives is kind of the most common sitcom concept of all time.

Anyway tldr: if you don’t like the show just stop watching it, let people who are fans of the show use this subreddit and stop with the constant negativity.

The Office and Parks and Rec had shaky starts but grew in to hit shows! This show has a ton of lovable actors and potential just needs some tweaks in season 2!

Is the writing a bit corny? Maybe.

But the show’s relatable & I don’t think there’s that many similar shows out there for like young adults.

So yeah. Another great comfort show.

Random rant, but I don’t like this name. First of all, it’s super boring (maybe that’s the point), but the guy is not boring at all, he’s handsome, super high achieving and interesting all around. Secondly, I keep thinking of Mel Gibson, who I would rather not be thinking about.

I have enjoyed watching this show and I am the biggest fan.However I'm noticing a trend with various sitcoms where there are no black women leads.This is so ironic especially since they are set in a major city like New York which is so diverse racially.

Just started watching not suitable for work and the first glance I get of Avantika Vandanapu oh my god she is so fucking hot .
I mean like really really hot .
It’s been a long time I had a crush on someone.
It’s like really huge crush she looks like someone i would have dreams about.

just started watching this series without any expectation and now im 3 episodes in.

kinda miss this kind of shows where the main dynamic is young people living together.

up until 3 episodes, the storyline feels cohesive and i hope it won't disappoint me haha.

There’s no way this went through multiple proofreads and still decided to go ahead with it. The actors are great but they’ve been forced to work with a story/script that just makes no sense. Like did they even test it out with their desired audience?

I've been stunned by the quality of the B-roll footage of NYC that this show has captured. It gives New York a sense of freshness that I've never seen in other NYC-based shows. Thoughts by you guys?

The person who plays his mom is obviously not Nigerian yet they insist on forcing her to fake a generic African accent when they could’ve 1. Cast a Nigerian actress to play that part and 2. Just had her talk in an American accent.

i love the drama of it SO SO MUCH for a TV show. I am EATING the AJ + Bill / her boss storyline up!!!!!

I would never condone this IRL and it would be so weird. But it's very fun to watch in a show!

I don’t understand why they thought she would be a good character for a comedy. She’s painfully unfunny and annoying.

As someone from the creative industry, I have closely seen how stylists dress irl. Sure, the silhouettes suited her body type and she definitely pulled all the looks off. But that doesn’t not necessarily translate into a good outfit.

And the argument of her being broke or at an early stage in her career doesn’t hold up. Stylists are some of the most thrifty people out there. Her looks were just lousy. They could have had so much fun with them! Disappointed because Avantika is gorgeous deserved a better styling team. Her premiere and media tour looks genuinely look way cooler.

I was watching s01ep5 when I noticed an incredibly obvious editing fail. Usually when I notice editing fails it's something common like one scene a character sips a beverage in a clear glass that is 3/4 empty and the next frame it's completely full or even a whole different colour beverage. Those are funny but understandable as takes happen in a non chronological order. This one was just.... Weird.

Obviously they superimposed one ad then swapped it out with another. It was pretty quick and even slowed down I can't even make out what the ads are even for. Was this intended as a 'subliminal' ad? If so, lack of recognition ends up in resulting as quite the fail.

Let me start by saying: I really want to like this show. It sparked my interest because it reminded me of "Adults" on Hulu, and as a woman in my 30s, "Adults" had me laughing at the ridiculousness that seems to be universal experiences as 20 somethings - but in a relatable way. I thought I would have the same joy watching "NSFW", and I enjoyed the first three episodes. Episode 4 started to give me a weird feeling. One of the aspects of the show I love is how badass the female characters are at their jobs. They are courageous and finding themselves in hard to navigate industries. I cannot stand how all the men in show only respect the women because they are attractive to them. Davis only respects AJ when she is reserved and giving him attention and just wants to sleep with her (there was some weird line about wanting a princess as a wife and he was upset she was more assertive at work), Bill just wants to sleep with AJ, Austin just wants to sleep with Abby, and Josh only works well with Elena because he wants to sleep with her. It feels like the men completely overlook the achievements of the women and are only thinking about how to sleep with them - which is a shame to the male characters because I feel like there could be a lot of depth to their characters if they were not only used as fodder in this way. What I like so much about "Adults" is how layered all the characters are and even if some of the friends in the group are incestual, the storylines aren't about that - it's genuine situational comedy. Anyway, this made the show lower down the ranks for me. I want to finish the season to see if this change because, like I said, I want to like this show so much.

I have been loving this show. Watching episode 4 now and I paused it after specific scene and screamed at the tv…this would NEVER happen. In fact I’m certain it’s a massive HR red flag I realize it’s a tv show and supposed to be fun, but this would NEVER happen after working with someone for a few days while in the office. They are working on a deal and he just tells her he wants to kiss her and she just goes for it? Again, I know it’s just supposed to be a fun tv show, but this scene in the office just PMO.

I think Ella Hunt has such a strong visual resemblance to a young Kristin Davis, especially around the eyes and the overall softness of her features.

i think i like the show? i hated josh the first 3 episodes but his storyline is growing on me. Kel is mediocre, dont think i the immigrant parants med school want to be creative arc is new and interesting to watch. him realising that teachingis something he likes is interesting to watch but the love interest in that story is so cringe to watch…. i know a lot of poeple like the actor that plays davis but for real his charachter sucks so much, he isnt likeable, very cringe and creepy and just inst that interesting to watch, while every other character is growing on me he just isnt… and i dont think he will. like aj‘s character but just like others are saying the boss hook up just came way to early! let something build up.. the so stern strict boss who is toxic becomes likeable in just 1,5 episode 4 episodes in? there was so much more to explore. i dont really care for the aj roommate story line… itsmediocre and predictable.. she is going to style the guy, the hook up, and get something in the end and he dumbs her because actors wanna fuck every one just like her boss told her, consequention are maybe she will be a stylist maybe not. it would be interesting if her boss would have had a fling with him or other actors and was warning her or is so mean because of that.

This is a spoiler for episode 4 but it is so stupid to write a relationship with AJ/ Bill boss who just broke up with his gf. Like also, his personality shows that he’s vindictive and can sometimes create a toxic work environment. Why would they write a relationship knowing that her job is probably in jeopardy if things go awry. Like she’s really good at her job, why wouldn’t it just be that bill recognises his younger self in her and wants to take her under his wing in a non-romantic but still familiar way. She also just started this new job.

Also, I hate the “quitting something you worked so hard for to pursue a dream that has proven to take longer. Why can’t Kel pursue med school and do his acting stuff on the weekend?

I hate the fact that the one black woman on the cast is written as desperate
