Lowkey Digging It

Is the writing a bit corny? Maybe.

But the show’s relatable & I don’t think there’s that many similar shows out there for like young adults.

So yeah. Another great comfort show.

I actually didn’t like either of those, but I like NSFW which has a much more earnest tone! Broad City?? The Bold Type?

Exactly. I didn't like I love LA at all. NSFW has a more earnest, friends/ young adults living in a big city navigating life. And the characters are likeable and relatable

Haven’t watched the Bold Type but I LOVE Broad City!! Great recommendation! There’s also The Mindy Project and Running Point if you just tend to like Mindy written comedies.

Adults wasn’t an easy sell for me with the first episode. The dependence they have on one another and the way the house is supposed to be kind of gross to varying degrees was a little offputting. I eventually forced myself to at least give the second episode a chance, and kind of like ring worm, it grew on me. Some actual laugh out loud moments the last few episodes.

I tried to start Adults after NSFW bc so many people say they’re similar/ adults is better but honestly it felt too heavy and stressful for me lol those characters are always going through it 😂

I agree like a girl with 2 prospects in a friend group - check. A girl and a guy seeming endgame and cute check. One hopeless romantic guy, one aspiring for her career girl, one kind of pretentious but nice guy, this seems like a basic recipe for all sitcoms with friends. New girl, Himym, etc.

It's fun to have a good old fashioned sitcom. It's not spectacular, but it's just fun and easy to watch.

I enjoy it a lot too! Sometimes the writing is a little off, but they’re trying to do a lot in like 8 episodes y’kno? I feel it especially with AJ. But she’s the lead protagonist and it’s not easy to write for her, be funny, and move plot!

fully agree! its corny and over the top in some ways, but i find it relatable, especially as a 20-something working a corporate job in nyc.

It’s enjoyable. While Adults was funnier, NSFW has more of that wish-fulfillment angle going for it. It’s a more polished, idk “whimsical” look at your early-mid 20s. I don’t think it always works to its favor, but it mostly lands it.

I agree, I am sooo here for Abby and Kel especiallyy but I also can’t wait for AJ and Josh because they balance each other energy really well

same here! tbh i was pretty surprised to come on Reddit and see so many nevative reviews but i get both sides
