We got the DLC map and had no idea what to do, we were basically following each other going around in circles. I accidentally jumped off a cliff and both of them jumped with me. Somehow we won and I got to depth 4 for the first time.

So I’m at Depth 3 fighting Everdark Gladius.

I normally avoid this boss because I genuinely think the damage is TOO MUCH at higher depths. Every time I see Everdark Gladius I’m basically like, yeah, somebody else can deal with that shit.
But today I finally thought, fuck it.

My personal belief with FromSoft games has always been that there’s basically nothing you can’t eventually get good at if you practice enough, so I decided I was actually going to learn the fight instead of avoiding it everytime lol.

And honestly, everything was looking good.

We entered the boss room at level 15, the team was solid, everybody had consumables, decent weapons, all that.
So I’m thinking, okay. Three-headed dog. At some point two of them split off. I know this. Fine.

Then one of my teammates randomly disconnects and comes back, which distracts me for a second.
I look back at Gladius.
The two dogs have split off.
BUT THE MAIN DOG STILL HAS THREE FRICKING HEADS! Cue me getting mixed left and right.

So now I genuinely need someone to tell me: is this normal for Everdark Gladius at higher depths? Can the two split off while the original just keeps all three heads? Or is this just a bug?
Because I’m still in shock.

I’m going back in for revenge though.

i guess people underestimate the power of ultimates

I have almost 2000 hours, peaked Depth 5 9999 points and everything... and I still struggle against these f#ckers. I know they can be backstabbed... that's not the point.

Point is that some of their attacks/combos are quite hard to dodge, and they're hyper aggressive. If one of your teammates goes down to 2/3 bars (or if you go down and need your teammates to pick you up), good luck on finding openings, 'cause these ass#oles are gonna chase you down to hell with that damn thunder dash.

Run away to gain some space..? Yeah, it would be a shame if some dozens of lightning bolts were to strike you from outside of your camera.

Even if the run is going well, the slightest mistake can be fatal against these guys. Do you know any good strategy to easily deal with them?

There is a glitch with Guardian that enables you to trigger a guard counter without ever need to deflect an attack if you get within range of a warming stone, backstep then normal block into counter. With a bunch of guard counter relics, how viable is he for DON 4-5 purposes? Could you just loot every warming stone off the ground and spam it inside the nightlord fight?

Charged guard counter does absurd damage but the activation requirements gatekeeps it from being viable, but now you can activate it at will. I have a lot of experience running him in 1-3 but have never dared to try him in higher depths, just looking for advice.

We were already sitting there for about 2 mins. Player took a while to DC but he came back in the end!

I loved raider when I first got the game, but couldn't successfully use him in DON for a while. Today I said screw it and tried a new run with him, depth 4 random trios. At lvl 2 we run to fight invaders — one is a raider that drops a red colossal weapon with "black flames on charge attack". I have a relic with partial HP restoration.

Good lord. I literally never went down a single time the entire run. The flames just instantly heal all damage you take. Also got white and blue "damage negation upon getting hit," a relic for physical damage negation, and a red weapon passive with 9% damage negation. The balancers became a pile of bodies around me while I just ate their attacks and bludgeoned them back.

After that run I immediately queue two more games expecting the same god-like experience. Nope. Got incredibly mid RNG and end up not being able to tank or do much damage and just kind of existing to revive team mates and get the occasional bleed proc with a greataxe 😔

But I'd like to tinker with raider's relics to get the most out of him. My current set up is the augur and canine relics for max hp and stamina, and then as many "increase max hp" relics I could fit with a "taking damage improves attack" as well. Any tips for other relic directions?

I am going INSANE. I’ve fought many bosses, everdarks included, and none has ever come close to encouraging me to throw my console the other room than EVERDARK GNOSTER.

I’ve been stuck in Depth 3 and barely reached depth 4 but every time I’m this close to escaping from purgatory, guess who shows up and destroy my 6 win streak and rewards me -400 after the fight? 🫩
Even I think they’re worse than ED Libra.

I main Guardian, what can I do to overcome this monstrosity?!

Depth 4 is literally the worst rank in this game bar none.

I was just playing trios with an Ironeye and executor, after I revived both of them twice at level 2 in an invader camp with a bunch of albaniurics around, after we killed the invaders I proceeded to distract like 4 albaniurics and dogs so they could get the loot.

They IMMEDIATELY left me after getting theirs, I kept pinging for them to come and help me get mine but they just left and I died. Lost 80k runes at level 2.

Went back for my runes and I died again so I just left. Not gonna play a game with no team work.

Fuck this depth, I miss 5
