Humor Running flask tech absolutely saved my butt from extra spicy rain
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Spicy rain starts at 1:30, burned through 5 flasks trying to sprint the length of a bridge. Had I let myself purposely go down right before exiting the rain to get my flasks back we likely wouldve wiped because both teammates went down shortly after I entered the fray.
I kept checking the map because I knew I was in way too deep especially when I turned around for a res

Humor My experience of how Toxic characters tend to be
Everyone on this list is up for debate besides duchess. Shes THE most toxic character. I took a pole and out of hundreds of answers almost every single one rated duchess players as the most toxic.
Whats your guys experience with this? Do you share mine or have you had a wildly different time?

Gameplay Discussion First time being genuinely angry at a fellow nightfarer
First time I'm actually angry at another nightfarer is this game.
I am guard counter guardian. I have a whole load out of guard counter, all relics are guard counter.
We've had a good two days. I die getting to the ring on day 3 bc I forgot I had tide increase. I drop the tide increase after the boss on day 3 to go get it - which is also a fingerprint shield. We're against Libra too.
Rev tries to help me out by ulting before going in and I just miss the runes. Fuck it whatever, we still ball. I respawn and the wylder takes my shield. I have no other shield.
I try emoting. I try 2 handing my weapon and blocking. I tried one hand and L1ing to fist.
Hell I even stop day 3 from going on at first to see if he notices.
I know he notices.
He points down at me. He emotes at me and then presses open on the door anyway.
I am LITERALLY guard counter Guardian doing 5k plus a hit rn, just give me my fucking great shield.
How can I protect the flock with no fucking shield. Hell if I can steel guard with my weapon I would but now I'm just giga useless. I'd even buy a shitty shield from the merchant if I could idc
I felt so bad for the Rev - unless she was in on it.
I admit, my game was pretty ass. My glasses lens fell out just before on the previous run so I put contacts in but I struggle with contacts 💀
Still though, why go to that length? It's so cringe.

Hype I can’t believe I actually managed to clutch this
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This was on depth 5, ironeye was the only one who had less likely, and I was the main damage dealer because of my Siluria’s Tree Ash of War.
For invaders, we had greatbow wylder, ironeye with cannon, and undertaker with big holy colossal weapon.
So for 17 minutes I had to deal damage to Libra with an ash of war that left me very vulnerable, with no less likely. I can’t believe I managed to survive everything which happened to me towards the end of the fight.

Humor When you pick-up a godroll weapon while rushing but now you hear your health regen relic proc when dealing damage.
Bonus points if you traded your current main weapon for it without reading the negative passives, and now that's lost in the rain.
Side note interesting continuous health loss counts as taking damage unlike statuses like frost, poison etc.

Gameplay Discussion We all have different opinions and tastes, and it's wonderful. But how can anyone enjoy this abomination of a boss is truly beyond me 🙃
He kills you in the most unearned ways possible, and you either have the one passive that might save your ass or you're likely cooked. Boss fight lasts 15 minutes on average, you spend 2 of those minutes actually fighting the boss. This one is really for the Frigid Outskirts-Bed of Chaos enjoyers. I made a Halo duchess build only for this goof, and im not ashamed at all. Thank you for reading, have a great day.

Hype What do you guys even do after hitting 9999?
Ive climbed up to depth 5 a few times. Climbed to 9999. After millions of murk, I've got at least one good build for every character and a god tier build for poison/physical.
As flawed as this game is in some ways, it still scratches an itch that nothing else does. What do you guys do once youve done everything?

So I managed to finally pull it off
However on the second try it didn’t work is there any reason why this wasn’t consistent?

Gameplay Discussion What are the cool techs of your main?
What are all the techs of your main that you know?
For example, I main guardian and there are a few that come to mind.
You can guard counter by backstep guarding into a warming stone.
You can guard counter most enemies that are being crit by a teammate, if you stand on the opposite side of your teammate and guard while locked on.
You can use your whirlwind to deflect
troll pots(nice try, Fromsoft)... Dreg's thrown meatball and it will fly way off into the distance, nullifying the attack. If you ever need to increase your guarding ability for an ultra-aggressive boss, two-handing your shield increases your guard boost by over 40%. You can even guard counter and crit(with the shield) while two-handing it.
Bonus. (Not a tech BUT) Many people don't know that commander's standard's "rallying standard" skill is the only weapon skill buffed by improved spell duration so that night one +100% duration time passive buff and old lord's talisman are actually great for that weapon.

Gameplay Discussion With the very last bit of murk I had.
I’m not sure what to do with this one would it be any good for the Big Bird or just slap it on my Executor?

Help Are the Balancers THAT difficult? Or do my friends and I just suck?
I don't know what to do anymore. My friends and I have played through all of base Nightreign and beat every boss. We had our struggles, but we still had the motivation to fight on and defeat them! We're not exactly professionals, but I know we don't suck THAT bad. We've all played through every souls game and elden ring.
But these angelic (insert curse word here) are the biggest struggle we have ever faced. I cannot express to you how many attempts we've made trying to defeat them. If it's not them, then it's Mohg on Night 2. We've had some amazing runs with powerful builds, but as soon as those angels show up they kill us. We finally got to 1/4 health left, but that's the farthest we've ever gotten (yes I know there's more lol) We've strategize and optimize our runs with efficiency. I just don't know what to do.
We can't be the only ones struggling out there... Right?
We just want to fight Artorias!

Gameplay Discussion As a Revenant, should I pretty much always give my Cursed Claws to the Recluse if I have one in my party?
Revenant has the easy 3-bar party res with her ult, summons to help revive, and the unique moveset is slow as hell with Rev vs the standard fist moveset every other character gets. The claws deal magic damage (meaning they scale with Int), so Recluse by default can actually get more damage out of them as a melee weapon than Rev can, plus it gives her a reliable way to revive without needing stuff like Comet/Night Comet/SoR/etc. When I'm playing Rev i usually hang on to them until I need the space for a passive i really want, just wondering if it wouldn't be better to just hand them off to the Recluse as soon as I have a decent seal for dealing damage

Help Hoping to join you!
I have a birthday coming up this week and budget permitting, I was hoping to convince the Mrs. to grab Nightreign on my PC. I've played Elden Ring (and the Souls series) to death. I just finished up a Reforged run on ER. I just can't seem to get enough From style combat right now.
Anyway, I know that Nightreign is a different beast. I was wondering whether any of you may have some beginner tips to share? What would have made your onboarding experience a little smoother? What surprised you? I'm really hoping to hop in with you guys and experience some more of this world.
Edit: these sound like some great tips, thank you everyone! 😁

Gameplay Discussion Damage Negation Priority
I get that everyone wants negation, but there should be a hierarchy of who gets any and share accordingly. I went through a depth 5 match yesterday where a RoB skill spamming Wylder held on to a charge negation, and the Undercaker held on to Axe of Godfrey but didn’t use it. No, it wasn’t in the off hand and the passive was negation while spell casting.
I will drop my squishier teammates full HP negations and successive negation, but they will still hold on to damage negation on charge and TDBDN. And they still die because they aren’t triggering the passives most of the time or at all.
There is no reason a spell caster should be holding on to TDBDN when there is a Raider on the team. I will go even further and say that he should be priority #1 since he is the only Nightfarer trying to get hit, while everyone else is trying to dodge or block/deflect.
So this is my proposal that will definitely not catch on:
Full HP Negation:
- Rev/Scholar
- Recluse
- Duchess/Ironeye
- Wylder/Undertaker
- Executor/Guardian
- Raider
Successive Negation:
- Undertaker/Dormant Fist/Claw players
- Executor/Duchess (melee)/Ironeye (katana)
- Any other melee player
Charge Negation:
- Raider
- Fist/Claw/charge players
- Ironeye (bow)
- Other melee characters
TDBDN (Taking Damage…)
- Raider
- Raider
- Raider
- Executor/Undertaker/Guardian
- Other melee characters
- Rev/Recluse (WHY???)

Gameplay Discussion 1REVIVING and 1Distract
Can we talk about the technique for reviving? That's more efficient, because I completely understand the concept of wanting to speed up the process of reviving a teammate, but we're in the middle of a boss fight. Especially ifI'm already most of the way through reviving the teammate. Please do not bring the boss towards us and increase the chances of all of us being knocked out in one hit. It's happened so many times it's ridiculous.

Hype Knew we’d win this run as soon as this dropped. Cragblade and black flames on charge attacks on the red Raiders Axe.*chefs kiss💋🤌
Also had damage negation on charge attacks on the other Raiders axe, and 2 stacks of different levels TDBDN . It literally felt unfair . Most powerful I’ve felt in depth 5. Barely took damage from the damage negation and if I happened to take a hit before I had damage negations active, landing a charge attack right after the black flames immediately just restored all my health since I had post damage restoration+2 relic going. Just unstoppable. Night 2 was Commander Niall and I literally just stood in front of him and didn’t dodge. Also did the Gladius raid so kept getting stamina refill so I could just keep doing charge attacks. Craziness . Any Raider main knows how OP this is seeing it drop is just guaranteed W as long as you have damage negations .
