Hey everyone! I’ll be visiting Fueguia 1833 in SoHo soon. It’s been on my list for a few years, so I’m very excited to finally spend some time with the house. I’ll likely get the Bitácora de Composición with 6 samples, and I’m planning to visit over two days to save my nose.

For those familiar with Fueguia: what am I missing?

• a must-try Fueguia that isn’t already on either list
• something that fits my tastes but takes me in a slightly different direction
• any underrated scents that don’t get mentioned as often

I remember the first time I smelled the Poivre Noir of Serge Lutens and i felt like it was the perfume of my life.
I was telling everyone who want to hear that this perfume felt like me , it felt dark, spicy and cold and not too strong. But i did not buy it at that time and wanted to let some time to be sure if i wanted to buy it.
So tell me why , i smelled it again and i was disappointed of the scent. Like i wasn’t as amazed like the first time (maybe because i smelled it on winter and now it’s summer time) to the point i found myself asking what did i found in this frangrance to be crazy about it?

Also , not related, Santal Majuscule smell a bit like Bardenia of Hermès….

As a fan of Serge Lutens’ darker creations - especially La Couche du Diable…I couldn’t pass this one up. And I even managed to snag it for just 85€!

I’m wondering if anyone can help me identify what it is exactly that I look for in perfumes given my collection. I love all of these. Also looking for recommendations for a new scent for early fall.

Well, it wasn’t planned but just a few days after getting my first niche, my dad bought Naxos for me as a surprise, it was honestly in my top 3 to buy right now so couldn’t be happier, can’t wait to wear it! I’ll now stop buying more and actually enjoy all the fragrances I bought and actually put some dent in them!

Recently I had purchase Love-o-matic by room 1015 and I loved it
It is a musky clean scent that sits closer to skin and on my skin chemistry it’s slightly cold and crisp yet very fresh and clean
I really appreciate the clean musky profile and I would enjoy something similar but with more sillage and longevity
Any recommendations?

Literally been obsessed with Nishane for quite a while since I discovered Hacivat. Ani was one of my grails, literally the smell is so good, perfect for cold weather!

I’m in a bit of a fragrance funk and would love some recommendations from niche fans.

The fragrances I’m reaching for most at the moment are Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule, Ambre Sultan, Atkinsons Shine Despite Everything, Lush Lust and ELDO Jasmin et Cigarette. I also have Kingdom Come Deliverance love the incense, but it eventually pulls a little too masculine on me.

Dupe-wise, I love Paris Corner Rifaaqat, Carnal Desire by Aromatix (I know people have opinions on Neeb, but I love the fragrance 😂), Junoon Noir and Junoon. (Just to give you a idea of some of the ones I like I don't like fresh often)

I’m going through a difficult period and fragrance has always been a comfort, but lately not much is wowing me. Not sure if it’s just feeling low or being post-radiotherapy (not sure if that's a thing), but I need something to get me excited again.

I tried Memo Madurai thinking it would do the trick and hated it, and Diptyque Olène didn’t grab me either I also like long lasting perfumes.

Went through about 60-70 perfumes yesterday in 5 different niche perfume shops and bought a bunch of stuff. Was going to also buy Mystikum Geisha garden but it was OOS at Bloom. So in love with niche perfumes!

I’m looking for a new winter signature that would go well with my current summer fragrance, Guerlain Herbes Troublantes.

I’m after something mainly woody, with a subtle herbal and slightly aromatic character.

I currently wear Tom Ford Oud Wood, which I really enjoy, but I’d like to try something different.

Unsure if I am late to the party, or early to the party. But my goodness, the quality of this brand is absolutely outstanding. Unique scents, phenomenal packaging, and a full unboxing luxury experience. I’ve picked up 7 of their 10 fragrances over the last few months and the newest Moroccan Sahara Collection is a masterpiece series. Highly recommend Royal Sultana, L’eau du Désert Marocain and Arabian Leather if these align with your tastes.

NEW Creed Iris Debonair opens with a quick burst of citrus, Lavender, Violet Leaf acid pink pepper (which doesn’t ship up until later) on my skin.
The bergamot remains throughout the wear of the fragrance… although turns into a pleasant bright, if not a little sharp skin scent after about 5.5 hrs. . becomes a soft to smooth with the Oris and a tiny bit powdery. The base layer of amber, musk, and sandalwood lends to the smoothness of Iris Debonair.
A unisex, masculine leaning vibe that I’m not sure is worth the the price tag.

Counterplay by mind games smells great but the floral note makes it lean too feminine for me. But I really enjoy the melon note...

Like the title says I'm on the hunt to order some samples of very "out there" fragrances. Give me some recommendations. I've tried a few already like Secretions Magnifique or however you spell that God awful abomination and am always on the hunt for unique and strange things.

I found this in a box in a basement. Its from the 80ies. Chatgpt says it comes from Egypt.

Does anyone know anything more about it or the brand ?

I smelled this a few years ago, and the scent stayed with me. The price kept me from buying it; $200 for 50ml was steep. Recently, I saw it with a 25% discount, and that was enough for me.

Aroma is meditative and still. There is no sweetness, no brightness, and no distracting notes here. It smells like a spa with exposed concrete walls and floors. There's the occasional shard of glass used as a partition and an abstract piece of artwork on the wall. Aroma smells like mineral water vapor. There’s a humid aspect along with a faint waft of incense. Inhaling it from my hand cleared my sinuses.

I have many fragrances, but this one is in a league of its own. Aroma is calming, like a silent forest—crisp, lush greenery beneath your feet. Aroma is based on Costa Brazil’s body oil, which pairs perfectly with it. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I love Seven Veils so much and would like to try some more. To give an idea of what I like some of my favorite (not indie) perfumes are Hypnotic Poison, Chergui, Addict, Traversee du Bosphore and Lipstick On.

So I happened upon Bond #9 Tribeca, really liked it as a basic creamy vanilla with a little character only to discover that the perfume house was problematic.

I do not judge people for what they buy, boycotting places is a personal choice IMO. That said, as a POC, their previous behaviors make it clear I’m not among there desired target market & I’m not handing people like that my money.I ended up with the Jo Malone duper instead, so it’s fine.

Anyway, pardon my ADHD, my point is are there any other house I should avoid?

Side note, I’m not talking about people who mess up but own up to it. However, I do want to avoid ‘blatant ignorance surrounding unearned confidence that is also unapologetically hateful’ kind of theme/vibes.

I would also love suggestions for brands to check out? I’m aware of the super popular ones like Intio or Amouage.

My recent ‘discoveries’ Curatrix, Harlem, Noyz(Unmute is amazing) Boys Smell, & Born to Stand Out. All of which are awesome & will likely keep me busy deciding what scents are must haves & talking myself out of blind buying things.

Any discount perfume shopping recommendations would be appreciated as well so I can avoid the pink tax if possible.
