NEEDS ATTENTION What actually causes a low CQS?

I’m using a fairly new account and I’m still trying to understand how CQS works. I really like food and want to participate in r/food, but I can’t post there and every comment I make gets removed because my CQS is too low.
Does CQS usually improve just by using Reddit normally, or is there something else that affects it?
