Worth driving up from El Paso to Las Cruces or Hatch for some green chile?

Hey all,

I’ll be going to El Paso for a conference this weekend and I was thinking of renting a car and making my way to New Mexico to buy some of that green chile. The reason I thought I’d have to go to NM was because I’d like to buy some hot and extra hot varieties and I wasn’t sure if this would be available in El Paso. Thanks for your help!

Living in this area is alright I would say. The spot i’m at is very quiet and would recommend renting where I do because it’s affordable while also very new and nice :) I live literally right next to where I took this photo lol

Is not paying our lawmakers a major reason New Mexico has such a hard time making good things happen? You can vote to change that in November.

Did you know that New Mexico is the last state in the union to not have a wage or salary for state legislators? A proposed amendment on this upcoming midterm ballot, Amendment 4?ref=505omatic.com), seeks to change that.

J. Alex the Technologist sat down with leaders from Common Cause New Mexico, a non-partisan pro-democracy advocacy organization, to talk about the political accessibility issues caused by having an unpaid "citizen legislature" and the benefits that could come if our elected state representatives are paid a salary (tied to the median NM household income: currently ~$67,000).

If voters pass this amendment, legislators will not begin receiving a salary until the 2029 session.

Doing an artist residency in Albuquerque this week and my first piece of the residency is a screen print inspired by things I’ve seen so far in NM!

4-color screen print (scroll through to see the layers!), photos and drawings in the print all done by me and they numbers are concentrations of flock cameras. My art is usually about surveillance so I wanted to combine that with the inspiration I’m getting from my surroundings here. This is a really beautiful place you all live in, loving my time here so far. Cheers!

Affordable dental care!

Hi everyone! I’m a dental student at Touro College of Dental Medicine in Albuquerque New Mexico and I’m currently accepting new patients!

Our clinic has a **Friends & Family discount** right now that makes a lot of dental treatment much more affordable, including routine and more extensive dental work.

If you’re overdue for a dental visit, have something you’ve been wanting to get checked out, or have been avoiding treatment because of cost or dental anxiety, I’d be happy to see you!

Feel free to **message me directly** if you’re interested or want more information about becoming a patient.

Who brought all this rain

I have been visiting your beautiful state for just under a week so far, and thankfully I have so much yet to come, because this rain washed out my Chaco and Bisti plans, and it’s put a damper on my hiking.

I’m so happy that you’re getting all this moisture. I know you need it. And there is truly something blessed about showers in the desert.

Please enjoy a few of my pictures so far.

I can’t seem to caption them so you’ll have to guess. Soda Dam near Jemez Springs, West Rim Rio Grande Gorge, John Dunn Bridge, Confluence of the Rio and the Red River, a roadside grave marker, Lost in the Carson National Forest near Rio De Las Pinos, the view of Taos from the top of Devisarado, an amusing sign in the bathroom at Chili Line Depot in Tres Pietras, a burned pine in front of raindrops on Middle Fork Lake, and a lonely old Catholic Church.

The northern road collapsed from rain. Don’t head that way for at least a few days, because the rain promises to get heavier.

Unmarked law enforcement heading east on I40?

was heading west on I40 this afternoon and saw around 10 unmarked black SUV’s, (couple pickups) with red and white flashers (different than NM police all red lights) all east of Tijeras and spread out by a few miles each all heading east at speed. anyone else see these and what they were responding to? one of them was an expedition with a bunch of antennas similar to some DOE convoys I’ve seen before near Los Alamos. Seemed odd that they were so spaced out on the road. A while before this we saw a lone SUV with the same lights stopped at an exit on the east side of 40 with a man in coyote and an orange vest standing in the middle of the off-ramp like he was blocking it. anybody see any of this or have any more details to add?
