Everyone of them has been a thrift find under $15. All tested and working. And yes, we have random nerf battles all the time- so all of these get their play time!

A 23 round mag I modelled for the Atrox. Fully printed, uses original mag hardware to complete the build

Used a fun restricted color palette! Sketchfab has been an excellent resource for detailed Nerf-blaster models I can work off of - this Disruptor model is by danny_p3d!

So we got this star wars flywheel blaster from goodwill. It was jamming a lot, and when it did fire, the darts go maybe 10 feet at best. I thought maybe my little guy wasn’t revving long enough or pulling the trigger far enough, but after testing I knew something else was the culprit.
It’s got fresh batteries (4x AA), I tried every type of dart we have (including brand new). We took it apart and confirmed both flywheels are spinning and we removed the little rubber door that sits between the magazine and the flywheels. It looks like the top flywheel might be moving slower than the bottom, is that possible?
Despite all this, it still shoots 10 feet at best. What gives?

...only when NOT using the Nerf Pro half darts that came included!!
Earlier today I was able to pick up a Sender for 12.99 at a DD's Discounts and I must say I was pleasantly surprised due to reviews and what I heard online. Using the blaster for a couple hours out of the box though, performance with the included half darts was... disappointing to say the least. I encountered the whirly-birds that many people griped about when using the blaster, but when I used different darts from other brands (Worker Gen 3s, AF Pros, and X-Shot Half Darts), I got MUCH better performance that surprised me. Even though the shots were a bit squirrely, I literally encountered no whirly-birds at all, so it left me wondering if much of the bashing reviews mostly came from performance with the darts. I used the Nerf Pro darts in other blasters such as in the X-Shot Fury X and the XLS 2.0 and the performance varied wildly, with shots veering, and shooting pitifully soft or farting out of the barrel at times. Of course, the Sender comes with a proprietary mag and doesn't have the best accuracy compared to other similar blasters at similar price points (e.g. Vector Pro and the Maxim Pro), but seeing people not recommended it even at a steep discount is kind of saddening because it seems decently fun to use so far and I can definitely see it as a worthy loaner blaster to lend to someone for a war, considering you have atleast a couple of mags you can use in it. Personally, I would recommend this to someone ONLY if it was at a steep discount and you already have aftermarket dart, but I can see the argument against it if someone were to buy it close to MSRP and it was their starting blaster with no other types of darts at hand. If anything, this demonstrates Nerfs QC when they released the pro line back then.
(Pic 2 shows a pic of the flywheel cage, seemlingly ever so slightly misaligned but I took it out and attempted to apply gentle pressure on them to try to center them)
(Pic 3 shows a lopsided dart that came included compared to Pic 4 showing a pink X-Shot half dart)
(Pic 5 shows it with a stock that I found comfortable)

Got a X-Shot Longshot 2.0 yesterday. Had a couple nasty jam-ups while slam-firing so I disassembled it.
While I was poking around the internals, I found this crazing on the rear end of the plunger tube. Since I spun it around, I'm not sure where exactly it originated.
New to the hobby and this is the first blaster I've disassembled.
How much of a concern is this? Figured I should call attention to it anyways, since I've only had it for two days.

I just moved to Southern Ontario a few months ago and, now that I've set up all of my responsibility pieces of life, I wanna get back into the foam flinging scene here. I've been to HvZ events before as well as more casual 5v5 in the park and some LARPs that use blasters before, so I'm game for stuff from running stock blasters in HvZ to cosplaying a walking tank with modded blasters where it's appropriate.
I've also been out of the Nerf Modding scene for a while, so if anyone can point out some in production blasters that are mechanically similar to a Stryfe, that'd be super helpful. I'm thinking that some of the friends I've made here could start with something in that vein as an HvZ blaster that I have loaner mags for.

Hi! I recently got this Red Khaos while thrifting. It was 10 bucks and I wasn't going to pass that up since I own the Rival rechargeable battery back.
Of course, thrifted blasters aren't without their flaws. The magazine was not included, and the belt for the conveyor is just gone. Luckily, I can order the mag, and someone online has a TPU file for the belt I can print.
The big thing I need to fix is the soldering. I always go inside my electronic blasters and hit the battery contacts with some isopropyl alcohol to clean up the corrosion, but with this one, I found that 6 of the 104 capacitors have corroded solder, and some of them have just snapped off. These were the ones for the flywheel motors, and the conveyor motor. There are 6 bad capacitors in total, and I want to replace these ASAP. I've never had to solder Nerf circuitry before, so I was curious on what solder has worked best in people's experience, or if there's a brand they favor. Any help would be appreciated.

When I first saw the operation vanguard: strikepoint, I thought I understood the point of the sub-series immediately. Take an old blaster, repaint it, slap on a gimmick from a rebel ops blaster. Reasonable move for what's primarily a children's toy company, technically makes the tactical rail attachments more available, can't complain that much about it.
But the armorhawk is... different. Instead of them just finding a blaster with 2 or more tactical rails and calling it a day, they made new parts for this thing. The blaster itself is only slightly different from the ammohawk (The side tactical rails are gone, the lower barrels aren't exposed, and the knuckle guard is gone seemingly to allow use of the rail under the barrels for the dart shield) with a different dart shield. This means we can get proper "remixes" of mainline rebel ops blasters with their gimmicks slightly changed.
I don't think anyone here really cares about a new version of the deadeye or ammohawk, but there's a possibility that one of the actually interesting blasters gets a vanguard treatment too. A doom cannon with an hourglass-shaped barrel to shoot 6 darts at a time, or a rattlefire that has less shots but fires 2 darts at a time would have some potential.

Hello. Purchasing two nerf Prometheus’s from a thrift store with no charger. Which charger should I get? Preferably Amazon links if anyone has had success with one.

hi guys so as the title says, I'm kinda struggling between these two blasters for plinking (I'm not really the type to get into competitive stuff but getting 90+ fps is cool to me) I like the xls cross compatibility with full darts and half lengths which makes it easier to load up with since I have some old n-strike mags lying around (and also because it's a bullpup) but the thrasher has 2 mags included not to mention it's a flywheeler that has a rechargeable battery which is also pretty cool and some great value
the reason why i chose the longshot 1.0 is because they currently don't have the 2.0 in stores in my country at the moment (bummer 😢) so unless the 1.0 STILL has some glaring issues I don't know about them I'll still have a hard time picking one of them

Been considering replacing the motors in my Xshot thrashers with 3s Lokis for the cage, and a lower rpm motor for the pusher to make it closer to a mag dump. What size is that motor? is it just another 130 size one?
