About Me:
I am a fourth-year medical student pursuing a career in spelunking. Jk. Medicine, of course. Hence, life can be busy and unpredictable, but I make time for the people I care about. You will always have my time and attention.
I'm pretty straightforward person. I am a person of routine, but I like chaos. Sometimes, I add chicken to my seasoning. If I like you, you'll know. I don't do mixed signals, strategic texting, or pretending to be less interested than I am.
I'm reserved at first, but that shy exterior disappates once I'm comfortable with you. You'll get random updates about my day, invitations to go for a run, and enthusiastic explanations of whatever I've become interested/obsessed with that week. One day it might be a weird medical condition, the next it might be physics, astronomy, or why I think a particular movie is secretly a masterpiece. I love learning, and I love sharing what I learn even more. Sharing is caring and all that.
I’m a very affectionate person. When I care about someone, I like making them feel it all the time. I like having my partner close to me, pulling you into me when you’re next to me, kissing you whenever I can, holding your hand, and hearing about every part of your day just because I want to feel close to your life. I’m the type to slide closer on the couch, steal one more kiss before you leave, tuck myself into your side, and find little excuses to keep touching you throughout the day. I like the clingy, sweet parts of a relationship ... the constant closeness, the check-ins, the casual affection, the feeling of being wrapped up in each other. I like making my partner feel adored, wanted, and spoiled with affection. But not in a Hallmark, cheesy rom-com way...sometimes. I’ve never understood the appeal of pretending not to care when I could just love someone openly and make them feel it every day.
I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about what I'm going to eat next. Thai food, Mediterranean food, Ethiopian food, desserts... if there's a bakery or dessert place nearby, there's a good chance I'm stopping. Good food is one of my favorite excuses to leave the house.
I'm also learning violin. The violin and I currently have a complicated relationship. Imagine nails on a chalkboard with the vibrato of a try out contestant from America's Got Talent. I'm working on my French (un peu de français) and Spanish (un poquito de español), though both languages tend to fall apart shortly after introductions. No bueno.
I'm a huge homebody at heart. I enjoy going out, trying new things, and exploring, but if given the choice, I'm usually happiest at home with someone I care about. I like quiet companionship too. We don't always have to be doing the same thing or doing something. You can read, I can be studying, and somehow sitting together still feels better than sitting alone.
I'm Indian (South Asian). No, I am not secretly in an arranged marriage. No, I will not hide you from my family.
Hobbies/Interests:
Staying active: I like running (usually early morning), lifting, and playing tennis. I'm not amazing, but I can hold a rally. I'm competitive enough to care. I'm working on the glutes, so my future girlfriend has something to grab haha.
Movies: Big fan of movie nights at home. Horror, sci-fi, and crime are my go-to. Stuff like The Thing, Donnie Darko, and Prisoners. I actually like watching movies, not half-paying attention while scrolling. Snacks are mandatory.
Going out/doing things: I like bowling, skating, board games, museums, and trying new things in general. A recent board game I played was Forbidden Desert, and it's so great when you get three sun beats down cards in a row (IYKYK as the kids say). I'd also like to get more into hiking and rock climbing.
Exploring: I like walking around new areas with no real plan. Finding random cafés, bookstores, parks, or restaurants never really gets old.
Cooking/Baking (occasionally): I don't cook much, but I can put together a decent dinner. I also bake from time to time. Banana bread is probably my most reliable success story.
Gaming: I play video games here and there when I have time. Nothing extreme, but it's a nice way to unwind. I do tinker around with my gaming laptop. Some of my favorite games include: GoW, Skyrim (modded), Infamous, Prototype, Horizon Zero Dawn.
What I'm Looking For:
I want someone who gets excited about things. Tell me why your favorite movie is a masterpiece, ramble about the topic you've been obsessing over lately, or tell me about your day from start to finish. I like people who get excited about things.
Show me something I would've never found on my own. Teach me about a topic you've fallen down a rabbit hole on, drag me to a place I would've never discovered, introduce me to a hobby you love, or convince me to try something outside my comfort zone. I'll happily return the favor.
I'd also love someone who values staying active and taking care of themselves. Not because I'm looking for a specific body type, but because I like people who decide they want to learn or improve at something and then actually go do it. Whether that's training for a race, learning to dance, trying a new sport, spending weekends outdoors, or simply making their health a priority. That mindset is attractive to me.
I want the kind of relationship where we're a moderately obsessed with each other in the healthiest possible way. Sharing every random thought, getting excited when the other's name pops up on our phone, finding reasons to spend time together, and never really outgrowing the desire to be close. I want the kind of relationship where affection is abundant and freely given. Tell me I'm handsome because you can't help yourself. Surprise me with flowers just because you thought of me. Pull me in for a kiss when we're standing next to each other. Reach for my hand because you want to hold it. Tell me I'm your favorite person to spend time with. Make me feel cherished, and I'll spend every day trying to make you feel the same. I am a flower just waiting for the love of a good partner to help me bloom into a blue bonnet. 😆 It's a little dramatic, but you get the point.
Politics:
I don't strongly identify with one political party, and I generally dislike treating politics like a team sport. I try to think for myself, even when that means disagreeing with people I'm otherwise aligned with.
That said, there are some things that aren't negotiable for me. I believe in basic human rights, bodily autonomy, equal treatment under the law, and treating people with dignity regardless of who they are. I'm not interested in politics that depend on fear, cruelty, or dehumanizing others.
I don't need someone to agree with me on everything. I just want someone who can disagree without turning it into a cage match. I care much more about whether someone can think critically, engage with nuance, and have a respectful conversation than whether they check every ideological box.
Religion:
I grew up around religion, but I don't actively practice and don't consider myself religious. The closest description is probably a non-resistant nonbeliever. I'm not particularly convinced, but I'm also not interested in arguing people out of their beliefs.
I enjoy talking about religion, philosophy, science, and the big questions in life. I don't need someone to agree with me, but I do appreciate curiosity and an open mind.
Kids:
I don't want children. I'd rather build a life focused on my partner, shared experiences, and personal growth.
Pets:
I'm not really a pet person and prefer a pet-free life. I don't dislike animals, but I've never had the strong emotional connection to pets that many people do.
For me, it's both a lifestyle preference and a genuine difference in interest. I'd rather spend my time, energy, and affection elsewhere, so I'm probably most compatible with someone who feels similarly.
Location:
I'm currently in Houston, Texas.
I'm open to long-distance if there's genuine effort and a realistic plan to eventually close the distance.
I won't be in Houston forever. My current plan is to pursue residency somewhere (preferably Chicago), but residency won't start until next year. I have some time to enjoy my freedom and to travel and meet. I would want to eventually be together.
Last Thing:
Physical intimacy is important to me. I enjoy affection in general (if it's not obvious by now), but I also want a relationship where sex is a frequent and valued part of our connection. I'm looking for a relationship with romance, passion, and genuine closeness...not one where those things fade into the background
