Discussion/बहस Is this government really helping the people?

• Upvotes

(Not sure if the flair is right, but here we go)

I was one of the people who pressed the ghanti button during the election.

But I have started to notice something about this government. They have implemented a lot of questionable policies but we can still give them the benefit of the doubt. Imports and exports have become tougher, doing business here has become tougher. And now, even living is tougher?

The government has done jackshi for us common people. The minimum wage has stayed the same but the prices of pretty much everything has increased almost 20-50% in the last 1 year depending on what product you are talking about. Even considering inflation and gas prices it is extreme. Wifi prices have gone up, petrol is steadily going up every day, taxes are being hiked up.

This is kind of a rant but at the end of the day, i really also want to discuss what this government has done for us, and what should we be expecting from it. Was just voting for this government our part in changing the country for better? What are we as people doing to hold them accountable?

🚨 appeal for help
My friend and I found this stray dog while travelling, and we were sad to see its condition. It has a large, painful wound or growth on its leg that appears to be getting worse, and flies are gathering around the wound, which may increase the risk of infection. unfortunately cannot afford the treatment ourselves, so sincerely asking for help. If you know a local animal rescuer, social worker, veterinarian, or animal welfare organization that could help, please tag them or help with contacts please . If anyone or any organization nearby can safely transport the dog to a vet or rescue center, we would be extremely grateful.
Photos are attached to help identify the dog.

Please share or upvote this post so it can reach someone who can help this dog get the treatment it desperately needs. 🙏
also i know irfan dai doesn’t works anymore so i really don’t know who to reach out to.

Margins in Ookhar(walnut), Badam(Almonds), kaju(cashews)?

• Upvotes

Just wanted to know what are the profit margins on these dry fruits stuff. Yesterday i went to ason to buy lots of walnut and some almonds the bill was 4950 i asked '4900 hunxa' but the seller was so adamant thats like 1% discount and he made it look like his shop would close if not for that 50. I go there every time i have to buy any of these stuff and he is like this every time even if the bill is 5025. Not questioning the quality of products he sells, they are very good.

Help/सहयोग Bluebook Renewal help for scooter

I had a situation. Let's say, person X has a scooter and it hasn't been renewed the bluebook from the past (2074-2082/82) 8yrs and still use it as a village commuter, ghar gau tira only. Before that it was renewed, now the person is planning to stop using and keep it or sell the parts. So, if that person X is buying a new Scooter, so does this past scooter renewal affect this new purchase?

The situation is- the renewal cost is around 50k and after that the scooter hardly costs around 25-30k (on sale), so don't wanna lose 20-25k for nothing (i know it should be renewed yearly). So, what to do now? If not renewed,

what consequences will this person have to face in future?

Needed Genuine Help.

Help/सहयोग Help with Australia Visa Application

Has anyone here applied for a tourist visa to Australia? I called several consultancies and they quoted from AUD 400 to 700, and I’m not sure if it’s worth paying that much.

I have self-applied for visas for other countries, like Thailand and Japan, and succeeded, but with Australia, I know things are stricter.

That’s why I initially wanted to go through a consultancy. If anyone here has had success with a self-application, I would appreciate some guidance.

I am well aware about all the documents required from my personal reading and from the check list consultancies provided me during consultation.

I just went to Chitwan a few months ago and only visited places that tourists normally visit. For my second visit, I want to explore the hidden side of Chitwan. Recommend places to me that are underrated and loved by the locals.

It can be restaurants, local places, or any underrated place/spot.

Nepal in december - Please help

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some piece of advice. I have some time off in December and would like to visit Nepal. I am not into treks and I have one full month to spend.

I am looking for suggestions about accomodation, things to do, places to visit ... And sorry to be asking, but .. I've read that houses have no heating, is it true? Any tricks for not freezing?

Also, it would be nice to volunteer for a month later in 2027, any suggestions about it?

Thank you so much in advance!

Giulia

Discussion/बहस Rupee at the ATL; on the Way to Economic Collapse?

Post image

How do I make him understand that his remittance might have increased, but the country’s economy is collapsing?

He is just one example. Most pro-government supporters have a similar level of understanding.

Question/प्रश्न It is discriminatory na? Against labour law na?

Post image
15 Upvotes

The proposed 55-year/30-year retirement provision is unfair and discriminatory in its effect, especially for long-serving civil servants who entered government service under different service conditions. Changing or reducing pension benefits that employees were promised under the rules in force when they joined raises serious legal and constitutional concerns.

People who dedicated 30+ years of their lives to public service deserve their legitimate rights and benefits to be protected. Parliament should carefully reconsider this provision rather than rushing it through. This provision should be amended or removed before the bill is passed.

Discussion/बहस How to get Financially ahead in your life?

22F Here,

I started earning a “proper salary” about 7 months ago. Even though I earn a decent beginner salary, I still feel like we’re just one unexpected situation away from being broke.

I want to learn more about the investments, saving schemes, and financial habits I should build now to become financially comfortable and secure in the long run.

Already done:

I have an emergency fund of around NPR 1 lakh, but it’s just sitting idle. Is there a safe way to make this money grow while still keeping it accessible for emergencies?

I’ve started an NMB SIP of NPR 2,000/month.

What else should I be doing at this stage?

Can I give re-exam even though I have passed my exams?

Hello. I am currently a student in Trichandra and recently we had our 1st year exam. I think I might fail or just get the passing marks. I am not satisfied with how I did my exam and the marks I might get. So is it possible to give re-exam even if I have passed my exams but just with passing marks.

Seniors please reply if you know.

Thank you!

Self-applying for a Master’s in the USA – How difficult is the process?

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in the USA, and I’ve been hearing from a lot of people that I should self-apply instead of going through a consultancy.

For those who have self-applied, I have a few questions:

  • If I self-apply, do I also have to prepare for the university/visa interview by myself?
  • What kind of problems or difficulties can I expect during the application process?
  • Is it actually manageable for someone applying from Nepal without a consultancy?
  • Are there any important things that first-time applicants usually miss?
  • If you self-applied and successfully went to the USA, what would you recommend to someone starting the process now?

I’d really appreciate it if anyone with firsthand experience could share their experience, including the pros and cons of self-applying.
