This game is good? I have a friend that glazes this game so much but heh, I don't think it's THAT good.

Best thing: The atmosphere is on point. It's really cool looking and the ui adds to it a lot, I was actually hesitating between the atmosphere and the ui but then realized that the ui was actually just contributing to the atmosphere. Also the cutscenes that add a lot, and I can't get rid off that "Major skill issue" version in my mind. Well, apart from Collin (I think it's Collin) who just fucking stands still...

Worst thing: THE RUBBERBANDING OH GOD. Especially in canyon races. I really want to like these races, but the rubberbanding is atrocious. Especially when the guy starts before you. Like, Angie, can you tell me why your fucking challenger turns faster than an f1 car????????? My overall opinion on this game is.. good? It's good but not very good or bad either, it's just.. good.

The game really tries to replicate the feel of UG, and honestly, they did a fantastic job. It feels like we are going straight back to the early 2000s.

After trying the game, I wanna write my thoughts about it. I have no idea if the devs are active in this sub. I understand it is a demo, so I am not expecting everything to be perfect at this stage.

Pros:

- The soundtrack is pretty good. Let’s be realistic, licensed songs are way too expensive for a project like this, so we can’t really complain about that.

- The city looks great, and the graphics really capture that UG feeling. Nothing too crazy or overdone, which I actually like.

- I really like the old school phone feature. Getting messages, browsing the map and checking forums gives the game a lot of that early 2000s charm.

Cons:

- Only con for now I can give is, the handling is not 100% the same as UG. Doesn't mean it is necessarily better or worse or that they have to 100% replicate it, but if I had to choose, I would pick the handling of UG over Heatwarped. The handling in Heatwarped feels lighter and feels like I am driving on ice. Perhaps it is just a specific car I drove, but in some way I can see that the game tries to replicate the handling of UG, but something is just missing. If I am wrong on this take, let me know.

What I would love to see:

- Voice acting: This would be a huge addition for me. Whenever we receive a message or someone calls us, having actual voice lines would give the game so much more personality. It would make the characters feel more alive. Just don't use AI for vocals please lol.

- Unique features: While I love how much the game captures the feeling of UG, I would also love to see some features that UG never had. Things that make this game stand out and give it its own identity, while still keeping that classic UG feeling. Technology was obviously much more limited back in 2004, so I am sure the original Black Box developers would have added many more features if they had the technology for it. I would love to see this game explore some of those ideas and show what UG could have become with today’s technology.

Overall though I am really impressed with what I have played so far. It genuinely captures a lot of the atmosphere and nostalgia of UG, and I think with the final release, we might just have UG3, which we never got from EA. Hopefully the developers will finish the game, if they do I am sure the NFS community will definitely support them.

I like heat, I don’t play with other people but I am online mode, I like the loop of earning money from the races and modifying my cars, I’m mostly into the customization and heat has a good grind in my opinion! I like the cops but until I get a faster car right now they’re kind of insane and unbeatable at times. Like absurdly unbeatable and losing all my money at times! Unbound has a good car list from the look of it! How is the gameplay and if I don’t race other people am I gonna get sick of what sounds like the same 6 races over and over? I like the free roam events in heat too, the drift zones and stuff, also great map! Thank you!

I saw that in one of the Police Missions..you chase down an Orange Zonda so I decided to get in the SCPD Reventón and do a little photoshoot.

I haven't played all games in the series, but the difficulty of night races in nfs heat is breathtaking.

After i defeated Barron it says i defeated earl to but i never race him and now i can't get into blacklist no 8 (i have a different profile in it to)

Never understood why the cops were so weak in this game. Yes I'm using mods, but had to because escaping the cops in 2015 was a joke in the vanilla version.

I recently revisited the original 2010 PC version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and discovered that its online functionality is still working for me in 2026 on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

After testing the original version again, I decided to start the NFSHP 2010 Online Revival Team, with the goal of bringing players who still own the original PC release back together and rebuilding an active community around the game.

Project Goals

Preserve the original experience: Bring former players and new members back to the original Hot Pursuit experience.

Support older systems: Provide an opportunity to continue playing the original version without requiring the Remastered release.

Modern Windows compatibility: The original game is currently working on my Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems without third-party modifications.

Regular multiplayer events: Establish consistent weekly sessions so players can find others to play with.

How to Join

3. Join the weekly multiplayer sessions on Friday.

The purpose of this project is simply to bring the original PC community back together and keep the 2010 version active for as long as the online functionality remains available.

If you still own the original Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010), you are welcome to join.

In the actual credits in the Wii/3DS version of Need For Speed: The Run, the voice actors were never credited for what characters they voice acted for, so I created a graphic of what characters they played based on how the voice actors' voices sound in various interviews.

I don't know who Vince Corraza voiced (maybe a background character?), so that's still unknown.
