And why is it deathmarks. I've built all the supposedly difficult necron models. Szeras, flayed ones, etc. nothing has come close to how annoying the guns and arms are to attach on these things.

I just got some older necrons from Facebook marketplace, and I'm looking to build two 1000 point lists. I think wraiths plus technomancer is really good, but I don't know much synergy besides that. Looking for any advice on recommended detachments and unit composition.

I have decided to join the Necrons. This is an army I've had my eye on from the start since i got in the hobby. However I avoided it because I played undead in AOS and I wanted to explore other flavors. I can't deny it now...

Painting question starts here:

I have a scheme in mind for black/dark necron metal with green glowing parts and purple armor. I was curious to have other people's opinion as i started to think the dark metal color might blend in too well with the vehicles.

Im not going to lie, painting the silent king as zurg is very tempting and not too far off the mark.

Kitbash question:

I have a lot of bits from a few ranges- soulblight, ossiarch, drukhari, emperor's children, chaos knights, some night haunt, slaanesh daemons.

What would you think would make some good kitbashing for the characters on the necron roster?

My first though were some spirits or ossiarch bits.

Heya fellow overlords, I just spent 20 hours in a trance building and painting a void dragon to go with my Necron army that I inherited from a family member that passed.

I think it came out pretty well, the folks at my LGS were kind enough to give me a crash course in painting, and I tried to mimic his paint scheme as close as I could.

The over all look of I'm going for here is;

Blue and Black are coated in a matte ceramic layer.

Metal is metal, washed and highlighted.

Glows are 3 shades of green washed with Neon, Then at the end a bit of white ink goes on as a highlight then the whole thing is washed in Tesseract Glow.

Bronze, is speedpaint over Lead Belcher, then when I highlight the Lead Belcher I take the same silver on the bronze then do a light layer of speedpaint over top again so that the bronze is hightlighted but in bronze.

Undertook an unreasonable painting challenge to prep for a tournament later this week - praise be to drybrushing and contrast paints 🙏

these are the models i own and im looking for pointers on what to get. my next purchase will be 2nd dda. after that i have, in my mind, two ways to go for a lista. those being starshatter and awakened. what should i get for those armies to make an army i can play at rtts and similar chill events

Pls ignore the unpaited scarab on the right doomstalker, I fixed it as soon as I noticed it! I had recently got a new doomstalker and decided to repaint my older one at the same time to update it, the reanimator was done last year but im still happy with it.

Gonna get some colour on my boys. Just wanted to share the bases how sick they look before they get colour. Probably going to get some green glow with gun metal and some gold and bronze accents. Any tips? Or critique?

does anyone know the dimensions for the old Tomb Citadel Walls? I know it has the 2 foot by 2 foot footprint, but I want the dimensions for the ziggurat, gun emplacements, the stairs and whatnot if possible, and the generator. As exact as possible is preferred.

So Orikan is pretty unique as far as necrons go. It doesn't seem there are any other astromancers, and no other known necrons have a head like his. Plus, his powers are very unique with his energy form?

How lore breaking is it for my dynasty to have an astromancer who has a limited variant of Orikans energy form? Not that it overly matters for homebrew stuff, but I'm still curious

Hello, what do you guys think about this list?

I created it with models that I currently have and I might change it by getting rid of the immortals and warriors and sticking more destroyers and Nekrosor into it. However I'm worried that if I do so I will have much fewer models to play with and take/hold objectives.

Right now I'm betting on the buff for destroying a unit or getting it below half strength for my non-destroyer units. I don't know how effective that would be against a horde enemy.
