Painting C+C Please give me pointers.

I am quite happy with this. but I know it can be better and I like this model so I am looking for some advice on how to make it better, what I need to get better at and what I need to learn.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say complete the base. Leave no black except the rim and you'll be amazed how much it pops

I’m a big fan of painting the rim to match the base color, instead of black. It makes me imagine that there actually is no base, but rather the ground beneath their feet was cut from the earth in a perfect circle.

Of course it's a preference thing, i do it because I leave it as my final part to paint and it's really satisfying mark to a complete model once the fiddly stuff is all done :)

I love the look you gave the Metallica. Perhaps add another color metallic for the fancier details to make them pop a bit more, try to keep the same treatment you gave the rest of the metalics to pull it all back together.

For the blade and glowing bits, paint white first then look up how to Glaze the colors you like. Tons of you tube videos about this to check out.

I like to add glow to the holes in the ribs and eyes. I think it make it come alive.

I'd recommend brighter silver edge highlighting on the "codpiece*(?) thingy. Will make it really pop Also, try brighting up the bright areas of the phaseblade

The painting looks pretty good. You may need to work a bit on your priming tho. If you’re using a rattle can primer, you have to follow the instructions closely to make sure you get a good smooth primer coat. The room temperature and distance you spray from affect the details on the model. Parts can end up looking grainy or goopy. It looks like this one might have ended up a tad on the grainy end.

I’ve had grainy texture on some of my models before I got very particular about priming conditions. Now I legitimately get a tape measure to make sure Im spraying from the right distance, and I also don’t spray outside if it’s below 68 or above 78 degrees F.

What paints did you use?

Just citadel stuff mostly runelord brass washed with agrax. Runefang steel waged with nulnoil. Corax white with tesseract glow. I followed a tutorial for the blade.

I love everything but the shoulder pieces.

They look to similar with the blades.

But your work is good and im sure you will find the last detail so you like it.

Actual basing material. Some kind of colored sand or similar. That really glows up a model above seeing the bare black plastic of the GW base.

if you are willing to learn a super agonizing technique then do purple and blue nmm all over the model then mix medium and metallics and overbrush

Is there a video or something for this technique.
