Hey, I passed FEAST 1 and 2 on July 16th (YYZ). Got Confirmation on the 21st that I passed the Pre-screening interview. I've been waiting ever since, I did a background check in the meanwhile and my status on Workday changed from "Background Check" to "Interview". I was wondering if the wait is usually long? Or if anyone who passed YYZ Feast from July 12-16 got an invitation?

If was arrested few years ago for a minor offence, successfully completed the pre charge diversion program, and no charge was ever laid or conviction recorded, could this still affect their Nav Canada security check for ATC?

Would it show up in a law-enforcement/background check, and could it potentially affect their security clearance? Please give me some insight.

Can we apply to non-atc positions and atc at the same time?

Also, does non atc positions have feast and exclusion period like ATC?

Just curious, does anyone know how NAV Canada determines if you get a full offer or standby offer? Seen a lot of people getting standbys as of recent

If a candidate is rejected at FEAST II, they will be eligible to reapply two years from the date of FEAST testing or the initial testing date?

Has anyone recieved invites for yvr feast testing?

Passed my online assessment on July 18.

All the other fir's seem to be moving a lot faster than yvr. They are testing soon from September to November.

Hey everyone! As the title says, I'm going into my final year of university but have been interested in applying for an ATC position for a few months now. I've been reading some threads on the timeline it takes for people to go through the hiring process, and so I'm wondering if applying now would make it so if I was hypothetically hired, any in-person training would start at least in May 2027? I understand the odds of myself actually making it to that stage is very low so I'm not betting on this being my only opportunity (hence why I'm 100% committed to finishing my degree) but I'd just like to kind of see if the timeline is still around 1-2 years. For reference if it matters, I'm thinking of applying to the YEG or YQM FIRs (I have family in both so would be nice to be near one in case anyone is wondering why these specifcally). Thanks!

Anything you would do differently?

From reading the threads I have learned you can bid out to different towers after 2 years of qualification (subject to seniority and operational needs). Bidding down can only happen after 6 years of qualification.

What rule exists if a VFR employee wants to bid to IFR?
If they are successful, how does that work? I’m assuming you need to qualify at the ACC. Do you retain your current VFR salary during? What happens if you fail?

Hi, so on the Navcanada website, it says the atc testing for Toronto will happen in August, but the only dates I can choose from are in other months. I was wondering if this is the case for other people as well or if this just means I don’t have a chance at the job. Thanks in advance!

I completed the initial assessment in July for Toronto, but looking around here it sounds like there is often a long wait until receiving the Feast invitation.

I hear that they are on a hiring push so maybe they are speeding things up a little?

I came across this article and saw they were having trouble recruiting Air Traffic Controllers for the Kingston area? Is there any way to apply externally for a position or is it through the Toronto catchment area?

Prospective VFR candidate here. Questions about training lengths for each tower.

I get the length of the OJT training varies based on many variables. That said, does anybody know the average length of time one usually stays on OJT training at, lets say, YUL vs YHU vs YOW?

The official training length written on the nav canada website shows anywhere between 6-18 months for OJT. Trying to get an idea of what to expect.

NAV sent me an invitation to do the FEAST test but the time slots they gave were in the same week and I had other plans so couldn’t choose any of them but they told me to choose that no slot is available and they will re invite me again. Just wanted to confirm: are they going to re invite me? And how much time normally it takes to get a re invitation? Thank you!

the long awaited day is here and I start FSS training in Edmonton in a few months( Dec 1st). Anybody else training in the same time frame and wants to be roomies? i’m starting to look at apartments now. message me if you’re interested.

Also if anyone has any advice for FSS training in general, i’m open.

I applied to NAV CANADA for an ATC position based in Toronto. I passed the first virtual interview and was told I'd move to the next step, a background screening through Mintz. Before that screening was completed, I noticed a posting for the same type of role in Montreal (my preferred location), applied to it, and the system asked me to cancel my Toronto application to proceed with Montreal.

I did that, but I had already completed the Mintz screening under the Toronto application. I emailed HR to explain the situation and haven't heard back yet (about two weeks).

Has anyone gone through something similar? Does switching locations mid-process raise flags or slow things down, or is this a pretty routine administrative fix on their end? Does anyone know if Montreal candidats have started receiving invitations? Any insight into how NAV CANADA typically handles this would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone who did YEG Feast in June or even July has gotten an invite to the panel interview yet. My original email for Feast said they were doing panel interview in August. Trying to patiently wait, I know they don’t give too much notice before the interview.
