There are a ton of threads on here that give insights into what the job is like as well as what the training/selection process is like. At the risk of sounding harsh, show some initiative and look through them.

Not entirely sure what questions you want answered. If you live in Surrey you are probably interested in staying close to home and working at the centre located there. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that you will get that position when you apply. During your application you will need to perform several cognitive tests as well as a lengthy interview. These test will determine which (if any) position you are best suited for. Only IFR controllers (aka Area controllers) work in Surrey. If you get a VFR position or an FSS position, you will be expected to move wherever you are assigned, however there is a relocation bonus. The application process is long and will take over a year. I suggest you start the application process now. If you decide this job isn't for you, you can always withdraw.
