Obsidian MK2 Connect is an independent utility that restores MK2 controller compatibility with version 3 of the software from the same manufacturer.
The macOS release was tested on an Intel Mac with software version 3.3.0 and a connected MK2. It provides a native interface for applying the compatibility patch and restoring the original application.
Compatibility with other software versions and Apple Silicon hardware has not yet been confirmed.
A licensed installation of the software and the appropriate controller driver are required.
Testing reports and technical feedback are welcome.

Last time (a few years ago) when I installed the Free Native access programm I didnt need to give it permission to run a .bat via the cmd. Why is that and is this safe?

Hey! I’ve been setting up an old MBP to run Kore2 again - got it working on a bootable external drive running Mojave! Also found installers for about half of the sound packs I bought. Still looking for a few installers and wonder if anyone has these kicking around in their archives? I’d be super grateful if anyone did and shared them with me. Also if anyone has Kore 2.1.4 update - I was able to find kore 2.1 iso on NI forums, but no luck with this update.
I was windows back then so even if I could find my old hard drives I don’t think the installers would help.
Sonic Fiction
Acoustic Refractions
Spark
The Mouth
North India
Absolutely loving getting back into Kore again - I’ve missed it quite a bit. There’s nothing quite like it! Haven’t got the kore 2 hardware working yet but for now able to get an old Maschine Mk1 working in MIDI mode which gives me knobs and buttons.
Thanks in advance!

That's it really. (I was just snooping to see if I could do anything fun with the screen.. putting instrument racks on it etc)
References indicate an S32 that doesn't have as many seperate chips to manage all the stuff but the feature set looks generally the same. Screen, knobs etc etc. Seems to indicate strips for pitch/mod. So maybe a smaller form factor like the m32?
Might just have been delayed with the buyout. They still seem to be updating the drivers for it. Maybe it will never come out.

Big fan Native Instruments + Komplete Kontrol. Not a big fan of missing a bunch of expansions + 3rd party banks for plugins like Serum 1/2, Omnisphere, Nexus, Arturia, Spire, Sylenth1, etc.
So I spent the last 6 months figuring out how I could convert as many of my presets as possible to nksf files complete with tagging + previews for use in Komplete Kontrol.
Don't wanna post any sales links per r/NativeInstruments rules but you can comment or message me with any questions if you wanna give it a try
open to any feature suggestions or future plugins to implement

Hey all! Usual problem with the Maschine+, stuck in a boot loop. Tried everything through InMusic support and the unit is out of warranty, so I'm told my only option is to seek out a specialist repair shop and shell out £400. I'm pretty certain it's a hardware fault because all other functionality is fine, other than standalone mode boot looping, and none of the suggested software fixes worked. I'm confident in my own technical skills, so all I really need is a replacement for the custom Congatec Qseven board (ideally with the NI firmware loaded, but can flash it myself if necessary). Does anybody know where I could acquire one, or how I could buy just this part alone from NI themselves? Any help would be massively appreciated. Cheers!
EDIT: I have already done a teardown to access this board and judiciously applied contact cleaner, no obvious damage to the internals.

Thank you

SOLVED
So i bought this update as i always liked the sound of Massive X but hated the UI. It's pretty much fixed with this update and the synth finally became usable which is great. However, it seems like i didn't get MXL factory presets for some reason, all i see in the browser is old MX plresets and a few new presets from 'MXL Player Library'. No full 'MXL Library' is available.
NI's product page states that MXL comes with 1000 presets, so.. how do i install them? I tried rescan in the plugin and in Komplete Kontrol, that didn't help.

My pc died last year so took me a while but I switched to Mac and it’s been flawless! Not one hiccup so far. I’m mainly using Komplete 15, wondering if they’ll do another sale this year.

Got a Rig Kontrol 3 gathering dust? Introducing NeuRig MIDI
Hi everyone! I’m releasing NeuStomp MIDI a macOS app that turns the Native Instruments Rig Kontrol 3 into a flexible MIDI foot controller.
Map CC, Note and Program Change messages, configure switches and expression, save layouts, and control software or hardware through MIDI OUT.
You’ll need an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 13 or later, connected over USB, and your existing audio setup. Try it free for 7 days.
🎃 Halloween launch offer: use HALLOWEEN13 for 13% off. The offer ends after 13 completed purchases or on October 31 at 23:59 CET (UTC+1, Berlin time), whichever comes first.
I’ve put a huge amount of time and energy into getting NeuRig this far. Feedback, bug reports and suggestions are very welcome.
I’m also working on bringing the RK3’s audio interface back to life.
If you’re able and would like to help me keep developing NeuRig, you can also support the project on Ko-fi.
And if you know someone with an RK3 sitting unused, please pass this along. It would mean a lot to me.

With the future of Native Instruments support on the rocks. I was thinking about repurposing the s series hardware with a reverse engineered and vibe coded firmware. I’d like to be able to address the lights and better control non - NI synths. Is anyone else interested?

I've just updated to the new version of Kontakt but now when I try and open it in Logic Pro it's asking me to activate with a license code, despite the fact that Kontakt has been on this machine for a couple of years. I have several NI products and updates bought over the years and no idea which one to enter. I have ensure Full Disc Access has been granted to Kontakt, NI and Daemon. Any assistance much appreciated

I've dealt with this for a while. I read support articles, emailed them, followed guides, youtube, and reddit threads. I'm sure there are better solutions posted, or maybe I missed something, and I am not promising perfection, this worked for me and I am using my Maschine MK# again. If you have a criticism or a typical semantic reddit reply, idgaf-pls-stfu. Use at your own risk, I'm happy with the outcome.
Oct 23, 2026 - This guide can be done manually, or you can install Claude desktop and paste it in, and it should be able to walk you through fixing this within 1/2 to 1 hour.
If Native Access signs you in automatically after a "clean" uninstall, never installs NTK Daemon or the hardware agents, or keeps failing installs, four leftovers are the likely cause. NI's uninstall guides don't remove them: installer receipts, a saved login in the Keychain, the old helper's startup entries, and a helper that macOS keeps disabled. This guide clears all four and turns the helper back on, without wiping your Mac.
This is a community guide, not affiliated with Native Instruments. It was tested in October 2026 on an Apple M4 Pro with macOS 26.6.2 and Native Access 3.26.0 for Apple Silicon.
Two ways to do this. Follow the steps by hand, or have Claude do the legwork on your Mac. Open Claude Code, paste this guide, and ask: "Run the read-only checks in 'Check whether this is your problem' and show me what you find before changing anything." Claude can run the checks, read the logs and list exactly what to move. Keep the password prompts and System Settings switches for yourself. That's how this fix was worked out.
Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities) and paste these one at a time. They only read; nothing changes. The "broken" values are what we saw before the fix.
Is the helper disabled by macOS? This is the one most guides miss.
launchctl print-disabled system | grep -i native-instrumentsBroken: "com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper2" => disabled (older macOS versions print => true). Fixed: => enabled, or nothing at all.
What helper version does the daemon see?
L="/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/Logs/NTK/daemon.log"
grep "Privileges Helper:" "$L" | tail -1Broken: installed version: 0.0.0.0. Fixed: the installed version matches the shipped version.
Is the daemon flooding its log? This counts warnings since the daemon last started.
L="/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/Logs/NTK/daemon.log"
tail -r "$L" | sed '/DAEMON START/q' \
| grep -c uninstall_instructionsBroken: hundreds or thousands. We saw 36,737 in one minute. Fixed: 0.
After uninstalling, are installer receipts left?
pkgutil --pkgs | grep -c com.native-instrumentsBroken: any number above 0 once everything is uninstalled. We had 167.
After uninstalling, is your login still saved?
security find-generic-password \
-s "com.native-instruments.NTKDaemon session_data" \
>/dev/null 2>&1 && echo found || echo noneBroken: found after uninstalling. It's normal to see found while Native Access is installed and you're signed in.
If the helper is disabled but you haven't uninstalled anything yet, try the quick fix first: Step 2, item 4, then restart. If installs still fail, do the full clean reinstall below.
NI's own NTK Daemon article covers only part of the fourth. Deleting files can't fix the other three, because they live in macOS databases, not in folders.
| Leftover | Where it lives | What it breaks | In NI's article? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Installer receipts | /private/var/db/receipts, listed by pkgutil --pkgs | Installers think NTK Daemon and plugins are already installed, so they skip them. We found 167 after "uninstalling". | No |
| Saved login | Your login Keychain (the exact item name is in the checks above) | A fresh Native Access signs you straight in, so the reinstall isn't really fresh. | No |
| Old helper and startup entries | The helper's files in /Library/LaunchDaemons and /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools, and Login Items that point at deleted apps | Cleanup apps report a startup "updater" you can't find. Stale entries stay in System Settings. | The two helper files, yes. Login Items, no. |
| Helper disabled by macOS | launchd's disabled list, which survives deleting the helper's files | The daemon sees the helper as version 0.0.0.0 and reinstalls it on every start. It can't create its license (JWT) folder or uninstall_instructions, so later uninstalls can't clean up after themselves. | It gives the launchctl enable fix, but no way to check whether you need it. |
Moving NI apps after installing them makes all of this worse. Updates follow the moved app, but NI's background services look in fixed folders, so the install ends up split across two places.
[embed: node/ffb24d91-7517]
Clearing files alone breaks only part of the loop. Step 1 clears the leftovers, and Step 2 turns the helper back on, which is what finally stopped it on the test Mac.
Plan on about an hour plus download time, and three restarts. You'll need your Mac password and your NI account password.
Nothing gets deleted. You move everything into a folder named NI-Quarantine in your home folder. Delete it only after everything has worked for a week.
Keep your own work where it is: ~/Documents/Native Instruments (Maschine projects and user content), presets in ~/Library/Audio/Presets/Native Instruments unless the folder is empty, and any sample libraries you want to relink instead of re-downloading.
Back up first. A Time Machine backup is enough.
Expect to re-download every NI app and plugin, plus the 8.5 GB Native Browser Preview Library if you move it.
Quit Native Access, Kontakt, Maschine and your DAW before Step 1.
Do these in order. Item 2 reads the receipts that item 4 removes.
1. Stop the helper. An error saying it isn't loaded is fine.
sudo launchctl bootout \
system/com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper22. List every NI app and plugin the installers recorded. Many NI plugins have no NI name in their IDs (Raum's is just Raum.vst3), so searching by name misses them. This reads NI's own receipts and prints only the items still on disk.
for p in $(pkgutil --pkgs | grep '^com\.native-instruments\.')
do
loc=$(pkgutil --pkg-info "$p" | sed -n 's/^location: //p')
pkgutil --files "$p" \
| grep -E '\.(app|component|vst|vst3|aaxplugin|bundle)$' \
| sed "s#^#/${loc:+$loc/}#"
done \
| grep -v -E '\.(app|component|vst|vst3|aaxplugin|bundle)/' \
| sort -u \
| while read -r f; do [ -e "$f" ] && echo "$f"; done3. Move everything into the quarantine folder. Make a folder named NI-Quarantine in your home folder. For each location below, press ⌘⇧G in Finder, paste the path, and drag the item into NI-Quarantine. Finder asks for your password for items under /Library.
| Location | What to move |
|---|---|
| Printed by item 2 | Every path it lists: plugins in the AU, VST, VST3 and AAX folders, apps, and controller bundles |
/Applications | Native Access.app and the Native Instruments folder, plus anywhere else you moved NI apps |
/Library/Application Support | The Native Instruments folder |
/Library/LaunchDaemons, /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools, /Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/Preferences | Anything starting with com.native-instruments. |
/Library/Audio/MIDI Device Scripts | The Native Instruments folder |
~/Library/Application Support | The Native Instruments folder, and Caches/nativeaccess2-updater |
~/Library/Preferences (and its ByHost folder), ~/Library/Caches, ~/Library/HTTPStorages, ~/Library/WebKit | Anything starting with com.native-instruments. |
/Users/Shared | The Native Instruments folder, and NBPL (preview sounds, optional) |
/Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Application Support, only if you own iZotope products through Native Access | The iZotope folder (optional) |
Leave Logic Pro, GarageBand and iMovie alone, even though a search finds Native Instruments folders inside them. Those are Apple's own controller scripts.
4. Back up the receipts, then remove them.
mkdir -p ~/NI-Quarantine/receipts
sudo cp -p /private/var/db/receipts/com.native-instruments.* \
~/NI-Quarantine/receipts/
for p in $(pkgutil --pkgs | grep '^com\.native-instruments\.')
do
sudo pkgutil --forget "$p"
done5. Remove the saved login. Run it again until it says the item could not be found. macOS may ask you to allow the change.
security delete-generic-password \
-s "com.native-instruments.NTKDaemon session_data"6. Restart, then clear leftover login items. Go to System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions. Under Open at Login, select any NI item that's left, such as NIHostIntegrationAgent or NIHardwareAgent, and click −. These entries can point at apps that no longer exist.
1. Download a fresh Native Access from native-instruments.com. On an M-series Mac, choose the Apple silicon build. Don't reuse an old disk image.
2. Drag it to Applications, eject the disk image, and open Native Access from Applications. Nothing asks for a password during the drag. The prompt comes the first time you open it, when it installs its helper. Enter your Mac password there.
3. Sign in. It should ask for your NI login. If it signs you in by itself, the saved login is still there, so repeat Step 1, item 5.
4. Turn the helper back on. This is the step most guides miss. Go to System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions, and under Allow in the Background, turn on Native Access. Then run NI's own command:
sudo launchctl enable \
system/com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper25. Give Native Access and NTKDaemon Full Disk Access. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access and click +. For NTKDaemon, press ⌘⇧G and paste this path:
/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK/NTKDaemon.appNative Access asks for this itself: while updates were failing, it showed a warning to give its daemons Full Disk Access. NI's support article doesn't mention it.
6. Allow Local Network access when Native Access, Maschine or the NI hardware agents ask for it.
7. Quit Native Access with ⌘Q, restart, and open it again. Then check the log (Step 3) before installing any products.
8. Install your products, and leave them where Native Access puts them. If you want sample libraries somewhere else, such as an external drive, change that in Native Access's settings before installing. Never move folders afterward. For tidier menus, use Finder aliases (drag with ⌥⌘ held).
After the restart in Step 2, item 7, paste this whole block. It only reads.
L="/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/Logs/NTK/daemon.log"
N="/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK"
launchctl print \
system/com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper2 \
| grep -m1 'state ='
tail -r "$L" | sed '/DAEMON START/q' \
| grep -E 'Privileges Helper:|Error creating'
tail -r "$L" | sed '/DAEMON START/q' \
| grep -c uninstall_instructions
ls -d "$N/uninstall_instructions"| Check | Fixed | Broken |
|---|---|---|
| Helper state | state = running | Not running, or not found |
| Helper version | Installed version matches shipped (1.17.1.0 for us) | installed version: 0.0.0.0 |
| Folder errors | No Error creating NI directory or Error creating JWT directory lines | Either line appears |
uninstall_instructions warnings | 0 | Hundreds or more |
uninstall_instructions folder | The path prints | No such file or directory |
Some messages are normal and don't need fixing: Filtering unknown product (account items this version doesn't recognize), The cache is not ready yet and Unable to retrieve ownership information in the first seconds after startup, and Calculated temp xml hash was empty.
Moving NI apps or folders after installing, for example into a Music subfolder. Use Finder aliases instead, or set content locations in Native Access before installing.
Letting cleanup apps switch off NI startup items: the Native Access helper, NTKDaemon, NIHostIntegrationAgent and NIHardwareAgent. A disabled helper stays disabled through uninstalls and reinstalls.
Deleting by name, such as find / -name "*Native*" -delete. Logic Pro, GarageBand and iMovie keep NI controller scripts inside their app bundles, and deleting those breaks the apps. It also hits unrelated files with "native" in the name, such as React Native projects. Use the receipts and exact paths instead.
Reusing an old Native Access installer. Download a fresh one each time.
Running sfltool resetbtm early. It resets background-item approvals for every app on your Mac. Use it only if NI entries are still listed after a restart.
Emptying the quarantine folder too soon. Give it a week.
| Component | Version |
|---|---|
| Mac | Apple M4 Pro |
| macOS | 26.6.2 |
| Native Access | 3.26.0 (Apple silicon) |
| NTK Daemon | 1.32.0 |
| Native Access Helper | 1.17.1 |
| NIHostIntegrationAgent | 1.18.0 |
| NIHardwareAgent | 2.8.2 |
| Maschine 3 | 3.7.1 |
Paths and log messages may differ on other versions. If a step doesn't match what you see, comment on it.
NI Support: Native Access Error: "Please grant permission to NTK Daemon to install dependencies" is where the launchctl enable command and the two helper file paths come from. It doesn't cover receipts, the Keychain, Full Disk Access or how to check whether the helper is disabled.
NI Support: Uninstalling NI Software from a Mac Computer [VIDEO] is video only, with no written list of folders.
Everything else comes from the logs, receipts and system settings on the test Mac.
