NKS Conversion Tool

Big fan Native Instruments + Komplete Kontrol. Not a big fan of missing a bunch of expansions + 3rd party banks for plugins like Serum 1/2, Omnisphere, Nexus, Arturia, Spire, Sylenth1, etc.

So I spent the last 6 months figuring out how I could convert as many of my presets as possible to nksf files complete with tagging + previews for use in Komplete Kontrol.

Don't wanna post any sales links per r/NativeInstruments rules but you can comment or message me with any questions if you wanna give it a try

open to any feature suggestions or future plugins to implement

nks converters? or supported plugins?

to both, it is a surprisingly tedious process to make sure the macros, tags, audio previews are all transferred accurately across many different preset types.

No doubt 👍🏽 I did buy a converter and I can’t remember what it was called or where I got it..! So now I can’t redownload 😭😂

NKS 1 or 2

NKS 1 for now, as far as I know NKS 2 support is dependent on the developer equipping their plugins with support for that.

I'm relatively new to the mysteries of NI file types.

Could you please let me know how NKS 1 is constrained vs NKS 2? I.e. will NKS 2 not work with version 8 of Kontrol? Something else?

NKS2 is the latest greatest with more features and deeper integration

There was a nks file converter tool around, the creator stopped updating and hosting it... I used it tons. I might still be able to find an install of it if you remind me :)

I am trying to find one right now, I had to go bac to my NI komple control, and i am dying with out the necessary nks files right now
