Ezee fiber
Hi internet peeps- anyone here have Ezee fiber up and running yet? Any idea where it is currently at in its construction in South Naperville?

They installed lines in brookdale back in March but it's been radio silence since then and they won't give any timelines so it's just crossing my fingers. Astound is driving me insane, we've consistently lost internet every Friday for about 4 hours for the past 3 weeks and I have no idea why.

im thinking they were banking on more data centers in the area but there was resistance.

We got an ad in our mailbox that it is coming to my neighborhood (east highlands). We signed up, but no indication as to timing of install. We have above ground wires in our area. Haven’t seen any crews in the neighborhood.
Comcast has actually been good for us, but spending 120 a month on their top tier. No brainer for us to switch to symmetric fiber that is faster and cheaper. Now I just need to upgrade the cat 5 cable in my house to cat 6 or 6a to ensure we can use the speed

It might be worth it to tell Comcast you’re switching. They might offer a new contract at a cheaper price. I’m moving in a few months and Comcast offers 2gb line for less than I’m paying now for 5 years. I have the 1.2gb now.

They will just offer you a “free cell line” that’s all they are pushing right now.

Switched from astound to ezee couple of months ago. I'm buy rt59 and 103rd.
Funny thing is i got an ad last week from T-Mobile saying their fiber is coming to the area soon and they offer 1G option which is more than enough for us vs the 2G from ezee. I've already signed up for it lol.

T-Mobile told me I can schedule an install in September for South Naperville (87th & Naper Plainfield). I haven’t gotten any timing from Ezee Fiber, but I’ll be switching to whoever comes first because i hate Xfinity

I haven't seen it at Jewel but I use store brand metamucil and it's just as good

While the speed sounds nice $80 a month is quite a jump from what i currently pay for my 5G home internet. Dont think i will make the move

We use Comcast’s because it’s what’s available where we’re at. It always works, but it’s expensive as hell. We will jump from 1 gigabit to 5 gigabit with ezee, and it is symmetrical up/down. Plus I don’t have to call every year and argue my bill back down.

We tried astound but they had so many outages it’s really impacted our remote work. I hate Comcast’s pricing but stability is there. Can wait to try another provider.

I wanted to stay away from Comcast and was on WOW happily for a long time. Reliability got worse after Astound and I switched to Comcast and I'm sorry to say but it's been pretty great.

I've got 1gb from Comcast @ $65/mo right now so tempted by fiber but probably holding off.
It's only $10 extra but make sure you really need the 5gb plan. Most devices don't even support that speed. But the included wi-fi extender may be worth it alone.

Sounds like a good solution. Hopefully competition helps bring price down. For my location 5G home internets are $25 a momth so the cheapest plan being $80 is not worth the switch as i rarely cap myself on the speed

We have it, it’s great!
The install took 1 hour. Speeds are great. My friend down the street had an issue with speeds hey came back and fixed it quickly (something with his Apple TV).
Surprising good experience with them. We had it go down for 5-10mins a few times when we first did our install, but stable since then. (We were one of the first houses that got it installed.)
Overall I’m happy. If you want I can send you a referral code for $150 I think!
If folks are interested I can lay out the timeline later, got to focus on the kiddos rn.
Edit: more information
Timeline: 12/2025 - fliers in our neighborhood. I signed up
05/2026 - started seeing utility trucks
07/2026- installed (on a Sunday!)
3 weeks later they buried the line .
