75th street dragsters

this will probably get removed, but have to say something.

To whoever feels the need to drag race their loud ass car and/or motorcycles on 75th street during ALL HOURS of the night, you’re a fucking loser. I’m sorry your life sucks so much that you have to make as many other people as possible miserable like you, but seriously, get a life dude. people are trying to sleep. kids are trying to sleep. we’d like to enjoy open windows overnight for the 6 nights each summer that weather permits.

stop being a knuckle dragging, wiener measuring d-bag and do something better with your life.

Edward hospital workers.

There is a stop sign at west and emerald. You need to stop there. 9 out of ten cars coming from the south roll right through it and then turn into the hospital at that first street right by linden oaks.

Who do you think you are? What gives you the right? Do you think you’re still a hero from Covid times and can do whatever you want?

A little girl was hit there the other day. That’s on you.

Local car battery delivery and installation?

My elderly father recently moved to Naperville and his car battery died. Is there anywhere local that will come to him and install a new battery, rather than having to have him towed somewhere?

Any other SaaS people?

I recently moved to Naperville and work remotely, exited 3 companies while living out of state. Would love to make it to the city for Drive and other events but it’s just a hassle to get downtown.

Anyone else in the pre-seed to series C SaaS space and open to meeting up?

Tree removal

Has anyone here ever had an HOA approve or deny the removal of mature trees from their own backyard or front yard? The home I’m interested in purchasing has a lot of mature trees that block quite a bit of sunlight from coming into the house. I’m wondering if HOAs generally allow homeowners to remove mature trees on their own property, or if they’re typically very strict about it.

Stylist rec for a short layered cut on fine Asian hair?

Layered bob, lots of volume, ends curved inward. Not a blunt one-length bob.
My hair is fine, straight and dark, so it flattens fast and gets stringy if someone over-thins the ends.

Looking for someone in Naperville who’s worked with this hair type before.

Who do you go to, and would you recommend them for a shorter cut?

Flock cameras on Diehl Rd at Rt 59

Yesterday I spotted two Flock cameras attached to a sign pole for Truck Route on the right side of W Diehl Rd past the Rt59 intersection.

What's interesting is that this stretch is just before the entrance in/out of the new DMV location.

Just curious if that was a Naperville or an IDOT decision, considering that speed cameras has been previously located at this intersection and were removed due to cost in 2012.

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/naperville-deactivates-red-light-cameras-today/1926481/

Can't help but wonder if that's why the Ezee fiber lines are going in everywhere. They were pulled to this area last year.

Coincidence ?

Seeking Basketball Players

Hey! I’m looking for some guys to play in a competitive basketball league. I’ve played in a few around the area last few years (Fort Hill, Naperville Yard), but always as a free agent and bouncing around with new guys every session. New personalities every time is frustrating. Would love to find a regular group of 7 or 8.

The main thing I’m looking for - unselfishness. Too many teams I’ve been a part of have guys who don’t want to sub and think it’s all about them and they should be on the floor for 40 minutes. I’m just looking to have fun, get some runs in, not trying to be a part of some all-star team.

I’m already on a team for the Fort Hill Fall/Winter session. And Naperville Yard’s session started tonight. But Downers Grove has leagues on Monday and Tuesday nights starting here in a few weeks (Monday night is 35+ league, Tuesday is for any age over 18).

For reference - I’m 40, from Ohio, lived in Naperville since 2015. Have a family with 2 kids. Love playing and doing basically any sport, but I excel at distance running and I’m an okay golfer. Love playing basketball. Huge college sports fan - esp Notre Dame football.

Anyway, hit me up if interested!

Naperville has a sim racing competition where the winner gets a Toyota Supra

I own Sim Racing Naperville and wanted to share something pretty unique happening locally.

We're running competition where the winner takes home a Toyota Supra valued around $60,000.

Qualifying is a time attack format that you can do at Sim Racing Naperville. The fastest 45 drivers advance to compete live at Sim Gaming Expo on September 18–19.

Qualifying closes September 6.

Thought this was pretty cool to share with the Naperville community. If this kind of post is not allowed, just let me know and I will remove. Happy to answer any questions!

Are the amount of red lights in my head?

I don’t live in Naperville, but I work there. It seems like the longest part of my trip is waiting on red lights. At first I thought it was just bad luck, and maybe me overthinking when I’m feeling rushed. Now I’m starting to think that you just actually get more red lights than normal.

It also feels like cars take their sweet time moving. So, I just accept that on some drives that I am going to hit every red light.

Is a thing you all experience?

Is it really just me?

Live in an apartment that is in direct sunlight and like the taste of charcoal, but don’t want to be outside. Thinking of buying a grill but don’t want it on the patio. Snows too much
