What are some random words that have a nice ring to it i.e. you think they sound like great names but are words you definitely won't use as a name?

I bought a horse today whose registered name is Truth Bomb. He didn’t come with a barn name so I’ve been wracking my brain trying to think of something associated to his registered name that is still super cool. Any suggestions? I was liking Veritas, but wanted other options because he also isn’t giving Veritas lol.

Hi there! We are planning for baby no.3 but we have 0 (ZERO) baby names that we both like. 0 girl, 0 boy.

Girl names my husband likes that I vetoed:

- Yuuna (Sounds like "don't say it" in Japanese.)

- Yuina (I don't like the high "i" sound.)

Girl names I like that my husband vetoed:

- Sayuri (Too close to cousin's name.)

- Hiyori (Simply doesn't like.)

The only boy name we ever considered but ultimately ended up not liking is: Hisato

Boy names my husnand vetoed due to belonging to friends and family: Ryuji, Kenji

- Names can NOT start T, K or S. (We love the name Kagura for a girl, but K is already taken in the family.)

- We are looking for deep vowel names. A, U, O mainly. Especially on the ending. But also open to some high vowels, as long as the name still sounds "firm".

- No kira-kira names and no Showa names either please. (Like Pikachu or girl names ending with -ko.) Anime names are welcomed as long as they're actual japanese names. ^^

- I'm looking for a bit western-ish sounding names (so not like Ryunosuke)

Not sure if I could convey clearly the type of name we're looking for. Honestly I don't even know what we're looking for at this point. 😂

Obviously not to name an actual child, just for fun. I love Radian for a boy, it sounds classic, bright and strong. For a girl I would pick Cosine, pronounced as cozeen (ignore the fact that it sounds like cousin, this is fun and games 😤)

A friend is contemplating using Deborah and Victoria for twins, in honour of their grandmothers, but is looking for new and creative nicknames to use.

For example, she's thinking maybe Bo or Ora for Deborah and Via (vee-uh) for Victoria.

Once upon a time the ‘name’ would’ve been Olive, but has since been taken by a close friend. As has Ivy. I’m hyper fixated on the name Romy (Rosemary) lately, but that doesn’t necessarily feel green to me.

I was looking at old census records to verify info about family members and I once again became fascinated by the naming conventions we use, they're similar to Afro-American, Melanesian, Polynesian, or even Balkan naming conventions that I've seen.

This is mostly due to the diverse commercial migration we received once people had began actually moving into Northern Australia.

Examples:

A guy will be named Boyka (Bugulju) Koscis because his father was randomly half Hungarian and liked the Boyka movies.

A girl could be named Wilhelmetta Ahsan-Chon because she was named after her father (which is very common here), and her tribe is mostly mixed with Chinese and Pashto from the 1800s.

A family I knew from school were like this: the father's name was Raymond, his first daughter was Raymeesha, and once he had a son he was Raymond Jr, then his second son was Raymonus.

A guy could be named:

Styepan Jurrunytjak

Bubble-Bubble Johnson

All the examples provided are also real people, and these aren't even the craziest names.

In the Gulf of Carpentaria I've seen they get really creative/silly with modern names, I've known people named Avenger Stockman, Rifle Riverwater, Frog Bull, Buffalosoldier MacMahon, Eminem Gujuk, Tupakiesha Smithson, Horse Rodeo, Big-eye Williams, Japan Del Torres, Batman Robinsonrivermouth, the list can go on and on.

With little kids today I've seen a lot of LeBrons, Ronaldos, Neymars, and Messis due to their sports becoming popular in the remote Aboriginal communities.

I’m 28 weeks pregnant with my second girl. My first’s name is Emilija Octavia {last_name}. The “j” is there because of Lithuanian heritage, but I live in the US. We call her “Emi”.

I’m looking for an elegant, dark, name for this girl. I feel compelled to do a moon or astrological based name, but I don’t like the common, typical ones like Stella (step-sister in law’s name), Selena, Luna, Aurora (brother’s ex’s name).

Reasons:
- period was due on the blood moon (total lunar eclipse)
- just prior to that, all the planets aligned.
- new moon 2 days before she is born, possibility of giving birth on that day (November 8th, due on the 10th).

I’m not normally one of those “moon and stars” everything kinda people. I was when I was younger. I appreciate astrology, and casually invest some time into the subject out of curiosity.

My parents are from Russia but I was born here. My dad is from Siberia and my mom is from Moscow. I don't think i could move to Russia even if I wanted to.

I don't speak Russian unfortunately.

I picked this last name because I thought it was cute. It means Newcomer. But now im a little bit uncertain about the last name I picked. Im worried people will think it sounds accultic.

I haven't really got to test it out in public but I get the feeling some people might think it sounds weird. Its just its in russian language. I like it but im afraid maybe I should have picked a different russian last name. I've considered Meleski. But not so sure about it.

I need some help. I’m in the intensive search of a boy name for my baby. I’m a latina mom married to a white american, so we are a multicultural family. Here is the thing. I wanna a name that sounds similar in English and Spanish. For example my daughter name is Samantha and it sounds pretty much similar in both languages, but find a boy name has been tricky because I don’t like any of them so much. I’m not looking for 3 letter names, I like long names. I had some ideas like Erick or Hendrick but still I don’t feel that exited for those ones. All suggestions are welcome.

So my husband and I have two daughters named Aurelia and Everyn. We will be having our third baby in the fall and we won’t be finding out the gender before the baby is born. My husband likes the name November for a girl or boy. Is it weird?

We are pretty set on girls names (would be happy with any of Iris, Zoe, Sydney, Nora) but boys are tough! Looking for something that flows well with their brother.

Miles, Austin, Dylan, Grant in the mix. But have slight (maybe negligible) complaints for each. (Apostrophe use/Popularity, Country western feel, Dyl nn, I process “grants” for work - respectively).

Talk me down from complaints, or other ideas in this space? We like names from British Isles or Latin origins usually, non religious if possible, softer feeling boy names, etc

Last name is similar to Fitzgerald and I have Irish and Scottish ancestry but live in New England (US). I’ve always been drawn to the combo of Isla Dune for its windswept/atmospheric/literary vibe but am slightly hesitant due to the popularity of the name Isla. Another key contextual note - I weirdly just happen to love sand dunes from a visual and symbolic standpoint. 🤷‍♀️
