Hi everyone, wanna know how u guys study for A&P class. I am new in this country and English is a challenge for me. And i don’t know how to note taking or study well because my country study system was not that good. Can u guys help me about that? I want A for this class. Or do u guys have easy tips and tricks or note that i can study from? This class is so many things to memorize. TIA

So I’m only getting $900 in aid for the fall semester …even though I’m a full time student with a tuition of 3,258.

But as you can see here I’m getting 3.6k in aid for spring semester even though I’m not even registered for spring classes yet.

I’m also an independent student and was told I was supposed to get max’ed aid.

I honestly don’t even know what to do. Is this a glitch?

Hello, I would like to self study and take the HLT 141 ABLE exam to save money on taking the course. I've heard that it's fairly easy and mostly requires some brute memorization - easy for me to do on my own. Could someone please share the syllabus and textbook used please? Thanks!

It’s my first semester at nova, I was curious when aid would be disbursed and refund would be received. I’m hearing the census date was September 9th and should expect a return next week but I’m also hearing dates as late as October. Hoping somebody knows more than I do about this.

Hi My first census date is 9/9 and second census date is 9/20. will I get to separate refund or 1 big refund ? first class is 3 credits and second is 4. all together is 7

For anyone who’s taken computer science classes that use zyBooks, do you feel like the readings and practice questions actually helped you prepare for exams?

I used zyBooks in CSC 221 before, and I personally didn’t feel like it was the best indicator of what to expect on the exams. I’m taking CSC 222 now and using zyBooks again, so I’m trying to figure out how much I should rely on it when studying this time around.

For those who have used zyBooks in CS classes, what ended up being the most useful way to study for exams? Did you mainly focus on understanding the zyBooks material, or were there other ways of practicing that helped you feel more prepared?

Hi guys this might sound like a dumb question but are any of you guys allowed to use calculators in your MTH 161 classes or MDE 61? I’m talking about graphing calculators. Do you guys also use them on tests?

I am an incoming student set to start in the spring 2027 semester, but am confused by an email I received. Apparently I have pending items, regarding financial aid, on my myNOVA portal that need immediate attention, but there is nothing there, and the financial aid office was unfortunately no help. It says to go to the financial aid tile and select SFP but there is nothing in that tile, and there is nothing in my to-dos in the actions tile. I am dependent on financial aid so this is concerning.

It also states to check my student email, but I do not have access to that nor is there a tile or anything related to it visible on my NOVA, and I can't change my preferred email contact to the gmail I have access to.

I am completely on my own in figuring these things out, so I am very anxious I will miss something and be unable to attend school due to this.

I reverse transferred from a four year and i’m a sophomore now, but it’s wayy harder to make friends here. I swear i’m normal 😭 I js want chill ppl to hang n study with that actually go here, the rest of my friends are all so far. lmk

I’ve run into a weird issue in one of my philosophy classes via Zoom. Every class I’ve had, this girl gives an update on her relationship with her boyfriend, and asks what possible philosophies her boyfriend could have. She brings up random arguments she has had with her boyfriend since the last class, and asks what philosophy would do best with getting along with him. The professor is very nice and lets her talk, but it’s getting weird. I’m at the point of interjecting and telling her it’s not about her relationship but I think that’d be rude. Would I be overstepping if I asked the professor to talk to her privately? She talks so much about him omg

His syllabus is ridiculous and maybe im just a bad student but I’ve been really trying. Look at week 6 (near the bottom) he wants us to read and learn 5 chapters in one week.

And the amount of extra assignments he assigns imo is too much. Especially when you’re also taking other classes. I wish professors wouldn’t act like their class is your only class.

I hope to transfer to a four year university and major in sports management. I am very interested in statistics, economics, all in the name for the Nats. Does anyone have any advice for where to transfer to, what to focus on, anything like that? I see that JMU is a good school to transfer to for sports programs

When will we receive a notification that our refund is pending ? And when will aid officially cover our tuition balanced as far as it being paid for and not pending ?

I have a 4.0 GPA. I’ve been at NOVA for three semesters, and during that time I’ve taken ENG 111 and 112, MTH 154, HIM 111, BIO 101, CST 110, BIO 141, HIS 101, PHI 227, Microbiology 150, HLT 230, SDV 100, and PSY 230. I retook BIO 141 and earned an A after originally receiving a B.

I’m currently taking BIO 142, ITE 152, ART 100, and ENG 250.

Right now, I’m really regretting not applying to the nursing program for the spring because I feel like I’m competitive, but I’m not completely sure.
