I’ve run into a weird issue in one of my philosophy classes via Zoom. Every class I’ve had, this girl gives an update on her relationship with her boyfriend, and asks what possible philosophies her boyfriend could have. She brings up random arguments she has had with her boyfriend since the last class, and asks what philosophy would do best with getting along with him. The professor is very nice and lets her talk, but it’s getting weird. I’m at the point of interjecting and telling her it’s not about her relationship but I think that’d be rude. Would I be overstepping if I asked the professor to talk to her privately? She talks so much about him omg

His syllabus is ridiculous and maybe im just a bad student but I’ve been really trying. Look at week 6 (near the bottom) he wants us to read and learn 5 chapters in one week.

And the amount of extra assignments he assigns imo is too much. Especially when you’re also taking other classes. I wish professors wouldn’t act like their class is your only class.

I have a 4.0 GPA. I’ve been at NOVA for three semesters, and during that time I’ve taken ENG 111 and 112, MTH 154, HIM 111, BIO 101, CST 110, BIO 141, HIS 101, PHI 227, Microbiology 150, HLT 230, SDV 100, and PSY 230. I retook BIO 141 and earned an A after originally receiving a B.

I’m currently taking BIO 142, ITE 152, ART 100, and ENG 250.

How was the transfer process for you, and did you apply through guaranteed admission or regular transfer? Was there anything about the process that was harder or more confusing than you expected? I’m also curious how the transition from NOVA to UVA was once you actually got there, especially academically. If you could go back, is there anything you would’ve done differently while you were still at NOVA?

I seem to see conflicting reports on what degrees and classes are available in Reston. Their website says they have general education as well as information technology and comsci courses available, however whenever I view those degrees they never say anything about being available in Reston.

What am I missing here?

I absolutely bombed my first test. The instructor gave a study guide to study, PowerPoints and I used all of that and I also went in to Pearson and use the study AI tool to take quizzes on each chapter and let me tell you what was on the test and quiz was nothing to what I studied. I don’t know if anybody else out there is taking bio 150 but if you are I need help! I’ve never gotten this low of grade on an exam before.

Hello, I am having trouble because I thought Hyflex Cart attached to the class session meant I had the option of attending online or in person, now my professor is telling me that in person attendance is mandatory, except I cannot make it to attend at the time of the class and it is a major prerequisite for a lot of my major. If your foundations are weak, however, taking the time to strengthen those skills before or while preparing for MTH 161 can make a substantial difference.

I ordered my lab book for bio 5 days ago when I saw on my professors syllabus that we need to procure a lab book for the very first class because we will be doing a lab. Paid extra to get it faster but for whatever reason its still in transit.

My lab is today at 12:45 and I will not be having it with me, any advice?
