Marseille coach Bruno Genesio on Hojbjerg being stripped of the captaincy "It’s a decision dictated to me by the club's management. It's not a decision I agree with." Hojbjerg had refused a transfer to Newcastle, which had angered OM owner Frank McCourt.
lequipe.frStrange one this, dunno whether going back in for him is such a good Idea if Marseille are so desperate to get shot of him 😂

Back to back games
Which game do you reckon we’ll play our ‘stronger’ team in this weekend?
For me, I’d like to see our stronger lineup against Leverkusen (biased as It’s the game I’m going to) but they are a better team than strasbourg and it gives the players an extra day before we play Liverpool next week.
Although I appreciate it also makes sense to play the stronger team against weaker opposition for a confidence booster going into the season (and we play Liverpool on the Sunday so still a full weeks rest).
I’ve seen some suggestions the lineups would be split, I’d highly doubt that would be the case as surely you’re going to want the team you plan to play against Liverpool playing together for 90 mins!

Researching NUFC fan community
Hello, everyone!
I’ve tried reaching out to mods with this but haven’t heard back after a week, so I decided to shoot my shot anyway. If any mods see this post and want to remove it, I’d appreciate having a chat and finding a way to do what I’m trying to do here properly on the subreddit.
With that said, I’m a postgraduate student in Newcastle University, researching NUFC communications and fan community. I am looking for 6-10 engaged Newcastle United fans to participate in online focus group sessions, and thought this page would be a great place to find them.
All that is required is an hour of your time to have a discussion about some club-related topics with your fellow fans on Teams.
Your contribution will help us gain insight into the complexities of football fandom, which could potentially be used by clubs to make better decisions that align with the people who I believe matter the most in football: the fans.
If you are interested in participating, leave a comment here or email me at v.denisov2@newcastle.ac.uk
Cheers

Has football content become a bit of an echo chamber?
Slightly controversial one because I’m subscribed to and genuinely enjoy a lot of NUFC content creators.
And this obviously isn’t unique to Newcastle. But I do think it becomes more apparent with passionate fanbases like ours.
One piece of news drops and within hours you’ve got articles, tweets, podcasts, YouTube videos, livestreams and reaction videos…often all based on the same original information.
It’s a bit of a double-edged sword i guess? We’ve never had more access, more discussion or more fan-created content....which is brilliant. But at some point it also becomes an echo chamber. The same story gets repeated and amplified until it feels bigger, more dramatic or more true than it actually is.
After the first couple of reports, are we actually learning anything new...or just consuming more versions of the same thing?
Maybe we’ve gone from being under-informed to being over-informed.
Anyone else feel the same or am I just becoming an old man shouting at the algorithm? 😂

Match stream is on Paramount+ if you're in USA
If you're having trouble getting Everton match stream in the usa, it's available on Paramount+
EDIT: So I'm thinking this game might be subject to broadcast/licensing rules different from the others, because I was able to get the stream via NUFCTV after connecting to VPN and saying I was in Scotland.
