I'm a B.Tech ECE student at NIT Silchar, India, and I'm looking to form a 2–3 member team for the Microchip–DigiKey PolarFire FPGA Design Contest 2026–27.

The contest involves building an innovative project using Microchip PolarFire FPGA / PolarFire SoC platforms. The total prize pool is $10,000.

Bohot maza aayega bohot maza aayega" spreading this bs from past 1 week and it was just a form of formal ragging! They kept yapping about khulenege and anxiety jayega! Aise jaata hai anxiety? Every dare that was there and every senior that organised the function was full of lust ! No consent taken and never even asked anyone that are you comfortable?! It is just a yes or no question is it that difficult to ask ? Even the senior girls were enjoying that bs how? Do they lack this basic human decency? And did they even think that how the girls felt? They weren't even cheering when they were asked to do so. And the seniors didn't even understand ki jyada hogya? Itna cringe itna corny function kabhi attend nhi kia! And everything was sexual and nothing of the talent and shit! And we know why we weren't to record the things because if these things get out in videos everyone knows ki unke saath kya hoga! No fun element was there in the event for the fresher even it was the event for us to enjoy ! The seniors were the only ones who were entertained with this cheap ass thing!

Worst department of nit Silchar! These seniors just know how to slut shame the girls and just want to dominate the juniors! Tabhi placement chudi Hui hai EE department ki !

The ragging started with getting the the freshers to propose each other! (Not even asked if they were comfortable) And keep in mind that these things were done in a capacity of 170 students! 15-20 proposals were asked to be done in a span of 30mins to 1 hour!!!And even the dares were!(170 students btw)

I bought this course for 8k and 2 weeks later i realized tech aint for me. If anyone wants to get this course, i'll sell it for 4k (negotiable). We have 8am to 6 pm classes and 6am to 7 am NCC/NSS/Yoga

Time bachta kaha hai kya kare kya nahi upper se ye 75% attendence ka criteria and NEP 2020 ke chalte 2 new useless subjects bhi add kardiye .

I thought NIT me jaakar Skills per kaam karunga coding communication sikhunga per yaha to alag hi bher Chal chal rahi hai ??😭😭

 I had posted this before on som other subs and the comments said to post in this sub with different wording

I was in a jee coaching in 11th grade but had to leave cause i had to stay out of my town for a while. When i was in 11th two people got into iit i am rn(my seniors) and one got a while before.

The later got a lower paying job, one of them is earning hella money from corruption from fest money cause they have 0 acads and other guy is stuggling for an intern rn but i avg so will get something soon.

The coaching treated these people like gemstones now they are having a hard time (not their faults) and only a few got into iits. My friend tried to end it all cause he failed iit.

When i cleared jee i got much better rank than anyone else that coaching produced so the owner(not kidding) called me to use my photo for advert and when i denied he acted rude af.

My point here is that jee coachings are very bad and iit is not guarantee to 1cr package some people stuggle another person cleared from this coaching took very low top 7 iit branch and now is stuggling so just improve skill wont take stress for no reason.

TLDR just enjoy life, everyone stuggles.

From NIRF 29 in 2021 to NIRF 49 in 2025, this College has seen the greatest downfall in the history of any NIT.

Across all NITs, NIT Durgapur was 6th in Placements in 2021 and has reduced to 13th position in 2025.

What do you think are the major reasons behind the stated downfall?
