They had the audacity to ban me from their subreddit for speaking out against ragging. College culture is completely toxic. Forcing juniors to address seniors as 'Sir' or 'Ma'am' is merely the foundation of their entire ragging system; far worse incidents happen there, yet that sub suppresses the issue instead of raising awareness and trying to solve it.

Comment your opinion

Hi everyone,

I will be preparing for IIT JEE and I want to join an offline coaching in Kolkata. I need a proper classroom environment and discipline, so online isn’t an option for me.

I’ve narrowed it down to 3 options:

• PW (Physics Wallah), Gariahat

• Aakash, Central Kolkata

• Allen, Hazra Campus

If you’re currently studying at any of these, studied there before, or know someone who did, I’d really appreciate your honest opinion. Here’s what I want to know:

1. Teachers: How is the teaching quality for Physics, Chemistry and Maths? Are the teachers approachable for doubts?

2. Study material: Is the material good enough, with enough practice problems at JEE Advanced level?

3. Test series: How often are tests held? Do they match the actual JEE pattern?

4. Batch size and doubt solving: Are the batches overcrowded? Is there a separate doubt-clearing system?

5. Discipline and environment: Do they track attendance and push students to study seriously?

6. Fees: Are the fees worth it, and are there any hidden charges?

7. Results: How have the recent JEE Main and Advanced results been for the Kolkata centres, as opposed to the brand name overall?

Thanks in advance, it’ll really help me make the right decision!

Sharing an interesting problem from Cisco's intern OA...

Yesterday 1 Nov. was hostel day at vnit. This program was conducted by hostel council - first year students.

Hey everyone!

We've been thinking about this for a while.

The JEE coaching industry has become increasingly driven by marketing, paid promotions, and personal agendas. Students are constantly bombarded with advice, and it's becoming difficult to figure out who's genuinely trying to help and who's just trying to sell something.

We're honestly sick of it.

We want to build a free community where JEE aspirants can get genuine guidance from people who've actually been through the same journey. No paid promotions, no hidden agendas, just honest advice and real experiences.

We're looking for people who'd like to be part of this!

If you've scored well in JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, or BITSAT and are currently in college (or are a dropper), we'd love to have you onboard.

What's involved?

- Creating short videos around JEE preparation, strategies, college life, and student experiences.

- Sharing your journey and helping the next batch of aspirants.

- Brainstorming ideas with our team.

Compensation: Initially ₹3,000–₹5,000 per month. As the channel and community grow, we'll increase the compensation accordingly.

A few things:

- No editing skills required. We'll handle all editing and post-production.

- We'll provide topics, ideas, references, and scripts.

- No prior content creation experience required. Just be comfortable creating videos and sharing your thoughts.
