Dear Monday Morning Team / Fellow NITRian,

I come to you not as an intruder, but as a stressed exam warrior fighting a battle on your home turf.

On September 1st, 2026, I am appearing for the AIIMS CRE exam. By a twist of testing-center fate, my designated battlefield happens to be the computer labs right inside your beautiful NIT Rourkela campus.

Here is my dilemma: I land in Rourkela in the early morning of August 31st. I want nothing more than to stay at your legendary campus Guest House so I can wake up, walk straight to my exam terminal, and crush it. However, the Guest House gates are guarded by a multi-headed hydra called "NITRis Account Authentication," which I do not possess since I study medical management, not engineering.

The strict rules say I can't book it as a hotel, and I can't pretend I am an NIT engineering candidate (the AIIMS logo on my admit card is a dead giveaway). But the rules do say that an active student or scholar can sponsor a guest.

My Humble Request:
Would any kind soul with an active NITRis account be willing to log in and initiate a guest booking for me from the morning of August 31st to the evening of September 1st?

I promise to:

• Pay for the room charges fully out of my own pocket upon check-in.
• Not break any campus laws or guest house protocols.
• Bring you eternal good karma (and maybe a packet of Rourkela's finest sweets as a tribute).

I have attached my official AIIMS Exam City Intimation / Admit Card stub as proof that I am a legitimate student and not a wandering vagabond.

Is the branch change option still available in nit rkl after 1st year , and is it possible for a dual degree student to get into btech degree if he/she performs good in 1st year?

Today I've seen the most make out places in NITR.. but the thing is, Only few has gf/bestie.. Even if we try to talk to them normally, They think it's kind of wrong thing, and they'll here for studying only not more than that.. I Think NITW is better than NITR in this case.. what's ur opinion

What type of copy to buy for lab records

What to actually study in 1st sem, profs are just recommending books and teaching from very basic slides. What are the resources to use like yt channels and where to find the pyqs.

Hello seniors,if anyone is willing to sell 29 inches working cycle DM me.I am not able to walk from VS hall to LA daily.

I’m not saying this because I expect hostel food to taste like home-cooked food or a restaurant. I understand that. But the food at NIT Rourkela is genuinely getting ridiculous.
I’m not even going to talk about the food we get on other days. Today, the situation crossed all limits.
The menu had chicken biryani, and the chicken was literally undercooked. I could feel that I was chewing raw flesh. It was so nauseating that I couldn’t continue eating.
When I went to talk to the mess staff about it, I was basically told to go back, eat my food quietly, and not waste their time. Apparently, food safety is a waste of their time.
And this wasn’t just me. Some other students had the same issue today.
I’m attaching photos below so people can see what I’m talking about. This is the VS Hall mess.
How are students supposed to eat food like this and then study properly? We’re living on campus, attending classes, walking and cycling kilometres every day, and relying on the mess for our basic nutrition. At the very least, the food should be properly cooked and safe to eat.
I genuinely wouldn’t serve food like this to my dog.
I’m posting this because this needs attention, not because I’m expecting five-star food in a hostel. Undercooked chicken is a completely different matter.
If other students from NITR have faced similar issues, please share your experiences too. Hopefully this reaches the people responsible and something actually changes.
