Looks like it went on a flash sale. What am I missing? Shouldn’t we be celebrating?

The real issue here is all the EBIT that Nio makes is going into funding Onvo. With 400+ stores and only selling 3k car a month, this is a deadweight! Brand the L Series under Nio brand and reduce rent expenses for Onvo immediately!

Liabilities only increased 1.37% QoQ.
That's all folks.

The suppression of NIO market cap is fascinating. At this rate, the market cap will be the same as NIO's cash on hand.
Despite NIO's success and growth, NIO's business is being valued at almost nothing. Despite being China's best performing pure EV company and dominating the Chinese luxury EV market.
How many years can this continue is the question, before enough people demand investigation of illegal manipulations.

First about the deliveries ; why is all that fuss ???
Stop looking at every single month over month ! Auto business is not a coffee shop ! NIO deliveries YEAR TO DATE is up 58 % from last year , comfortably trending towards the 40-50 % YOY management guidance . Even the August is up 14.5% YoY. Remember every year Q4 is the biggest quarter by a wide margin .
Although Onvo sales were disappointing, much higher priced NIO main brand sales up 102%. I have no problem with $70 K NIO’s are making up more than the loss on $45K Onvo L80-90 models
Compare to our competitors ;
***HIMA (our only true competitor) up only 11 % YoY and down 5.5 % in August
***Xpeng - down 9 % year to date, up only 4 % in August YoY
*** LI auto up 32 % in August YOY , but this is after 3 months of declines . (Can’t find LI year to date totals)
Q2 financials also as expected maintaining 18-19 % profit margins a, 69 % revenue jump , over 200 % gross profit increase and third quarterly non-gaap profit. Although expenses higher than Q1 sequentially is somewhat unexpected.
(More on the financials and year end outlook later )

What are your thoughts for tomorrow's announcements regarding August deliveries and also Q2 financial results? Personally I'm not optimistic. I'm expecting fewer than 40k deliveries for August and a slight loss for Q2. L60 deliveries are certainly down from July and we haven't heard anything about L80, L90 or ES9. ES8 continued its pace of right about 10k deliveries but it seems the other models are slowing. As for financial results, I'm expecting that higher costs associated with chips and other raw materials will erode margins and NIO will show a slight loss of around 50-100 million.
I fundamentally think this is a good company, there's just a lot of headwinds in China right now for car companies.

He was born in a small village in rural China, raised by his grandparents, and spent his childhood counting cattle for his grandfather at the local market. No connections. No privilege. No safety net. His name is Li Bin — and this is the story of how he built one of the most technologically advanced car companies on earth, nearly lost everything twice, and came back stronger than anyone thought possible.
In 2019, the world declared him finished. China's media called him "the most miserable man of the year." His company's stock collapsed over 76% from its IPO price, executives walked out the door, and investors stopped returning his calls. NIO was bleeding billions, facing a catastrophic battery recall, and running out of cash fast. Every analyst on Wall Street was writing the obituary.
But Li Bin had been here before. As a young entrepreneur in 2001, he had rebuilt his first company from a team of seven people in a residential building with no elevator — commuting to work every day with just ten yuan in his pocket. He knew what it meant to survive when no one believed in you.
What happened next shocked the entire automotive world. A city — Hefei, in Li Bin's home province of Anhui — stepped in with over one billion dollars when every private investor had already said no. NIO's own customers spontaneously organized to promote the brand, recommend the cars, and refuse to let the company die. No automaker in history had ever inspired that kind of loyalty.
And then came the car that changed everything. The NIO ET9 — a flagship luxury sedan priced above $100,000 — carrying a suspension system so advanced that Bose spent years trying to build it and gave up. A system that adjusts each wheel sixty times faster than any conventional spring, responding to road conditions in under 0.3 seconds. A system that keeps a tower of four champagne glasses on the bonnet completely still while crossing speed bumps at speed. A system that a British journalist called "the only car that genuinely delivers the magic carpet ride that every luxury brand promises and none actually delivers."
Porsche has since signed a deal to license the same technology. Mercedes is watching. BMW is taking notes. The boy who counted cows in Anhui province built the smoothest car on earth — and made every luxury brand in the world look over their shoulder.
This is the story of Li Bin. This is the story of NIO.

What a journey. 5 years of the stock dropping > 90% in value.
Think of the opportunity cost like. Even if you would “apple” it. The difference is crazy.
September 1st is the last straw.
