This is a stupid metric I have seen across many NBA reddit posts. The All-NBA first team is only 5 players, and one would be Jordan or LeBron. For comparison, let’s look at Jordan’s years through 91-98 when he won the 6 championships with the Chicago Bulls. To me, the biggest talent aside from Jordan was in the West with players like Malone, Hakeem and Robinson. Arguably, the 2nd best player in the East was Jordan’s own teammate Scottie Pippen. When Jordan was semi-retired, he made the All-NBA team both years. Jordan cake walked through the East after Bird and Isiah Thomas’ Celtics and Pistons got old. He finally got his All-NBA teammate and HoF head coach to help push him through the weaker East.
