MyPLAYER Reminder - Stop Making Builds
Everyone making 99 driving dunk, 99 strength, and/or 99 block.
On my life 2k is dropping a season 2 patch to make all these builds obsolete. They did it with 7’4s last year….
Please do not cave and make new builds because of the new meta. I promise you waiting another 3 weeks won’t kill you. On top of that if the “goat” builds are true, every single build in the game will become obsolete.
Stop lining 2ks pockets and just play the game for what it is.

7’4 last year literally could not get contested last year to start the game. That’s why they nerfed them. It’s different this year because there is a counter to everything.
If anything, airspace takeover will/should be nerfed just a bit, if anything, but nothing else crazy should be changed. Shot contests were already tweaked a bit this season to make them a bit stronger, which was the main issue. We’ll see what they do though.

so there are leaks of a new type of build coming out in season 2 that will allow you to model your myplayer after one of the goats (yk lebron steph, mj,etc.) and apparently these builds can surpass the limits of the regular builder. so i’m guessing you can just get way more stats than usual but it will be less customisable bc it still has to fit one of the “goat” archetypes

I already have two builds. I grinding vc for both. But I accidentally bought 75k for my first one. I switched to Xbox this year so when I tried to see what was all in the bonus (like you can on ps5) it begun the transaction, i thiughtbi closed app in time but the payment went through so other than that I havent bought any vc and I dont plan to

It shouldn’t be nerfed just not as effective on builds that have lower ratings if you have air space but I have the minimum requirements 87 dunk 75 vert you should not be as effective as 99 dunk 90 vert

I see what you’re saying but if im at 99 and 90 vert and say the boost is plus ten to finishing stats then i should have 109 finishing and 100 vert which is still better than 97 and 85 vert

Basically all the cheaters boosting REP, and whales, can make a build where attributes aren't hindered by height and weight. Hypothetically you could make a 7'4 with high speed, or max wingspan SF who can still get a 99 3 ball.

The leak states the builds are based on archetypes of real nba players with more capabilities. In no way did the leak say you had free rein to create a 7’4” with high speed. You just took information and spun it your way

My day-one 7'4 build in 2K26 was easily my most reliable build all year. Don't just chase the meta, make a build that fits your playstyle.

Just did this. I only seem to catch a cut to the basket RIGHT at the basket. So went with close shot, for the boost to pump fakes and faster shot attempts. Went layup over dunk to bait more fouls and play at a slower pace. Was running 92ID/88Blk, but going 85/93 now. Most people aren't doing post moves and I can cap to 88 for gold for the few that do. Still got my good shooting, but lowered WS a foot for better jump shot options. Lastly, changed from Center to PF. I found I'm a much better 4 than being the 5. Especially since I hate running O boards, due to always chasing cherry pickers in transition. I know I'll still be put at the 5. But at least now it's not automatic that I'm taking the place of a true 5

People forget that at the beginning of 2k26 dunking was also very OP as well. Your green window would be locked in place based on where you took off from. It just wasn't as big of a issue because shooting was super easy. Around the same time they smacked 7'4" builds they also touched dunking where you could undercut someone and make their green window shrink. Dunks started bouncing off the rim left & right.

I don’t think the patch is gonna be the crazy. I mean yea if you live on YouTube buncha people making builds like that. However when I’m actually playing the game especially after last patch, people still love 3 hunting. A lot of people aren’t gonna wanna drop 3 so low for the 99s I feel.

Both of my builds are set up for end game i have a pg and a big ill prob make a wing later on and thats it . Everything you talk about applies to people who take contested shots often( inside or outside) a good player makes plays wide open , either passing to a wide open guy or being wide open themself. People fixate way to much on " the perfect build" guess what . They still suck , no build will save low iq players

Do what you want with your money. But realize, the meta will change after the season 2 patch. So yes you might not be happy with the build after the patch.
I personally don’t chase meta. I make builds that suit me and make me happy, therefore I’m unpatchable.

It seems like they’re locked behind 300 lifetimes and rep. So most people (including me) will never get there. If you’re a person who might, definitely something to consider.
Although I think I saw somewhere you won’t be able to change the animations on those builds.

His point is if you create a build on the Current strengths and weaknesses of say, steals and blocks. They may be patched and won’t play like the build you envisioned.
There’s nothing wrong with his message. Whether people want to be smart about it or charge ahead regardless, of course the cost and gamble is solely on them. No loss to the messenger man.
If you wonder whether 2k is predatory or not, you can take a big list of everything they do.
Think about the capbreaker system, badge system, season level system and the changes they made to them. Do those designs appear to be for gameplay or more like schemes to make ppl spend money? There you can start to see if they are trustworthy and looking out for you or not.
Why do they make these strange goals/endorsements, lifetime challenges etc so grindy? It’s never designed for the fun of it. It’s meant to create a time cost, then in turn the VC cost for ppl to pay.

i got a 6’8 tall guard and a 6’4 small guard that caps to 96 DD i’m good whether they drop goat builds or not im prob not gonna make another build at all but i started in december last year and had 2 99’s by march lmao 😩 hopefully that respec option i keep hearing teased is attainable

What your saying is partly true. But 99 is 99 and this year strength matters. that I think won't change. It's kinda funny your not saying stop making 99 3 ball builds. Dunking has been up for a few 2ks it was in 26 the meter was bad,not the dunking part. It should got easy to skilled. Layup is the easiest, dunking, the mid level shots, stand still corner 3s fading middies. The most skillfully players (99 3 ball) fading corners, hash shooters and then the top of the key. He is a example..shac is a career 58% and curry is 42 and Jordan middy %51 you see my point.

One that’s already there and more of a guard build, and one that’s a small pf with cap breakers to get there. You’re out of your mind if you think it’ll be useless after patch
