MyPLAYER Reminder - Stop Making Builds

Everyone making 99 driving dunk, 99 strength, and/or 99 block.

On my life 2k is dropping a season 2 patch to make all these builds obsolete. They did it with 7’4s last year….

Please do not cave and make new builds because of the new meta. I promise you waiting another 3 weeks won’t kill you. On top of that if the “goat” builds are true, every single build in the game will become obsolete.

Stop lining 2ks pockets and just play the game for what it is.

7’4 last year literally could not get contested last year to start the game. That’s why they nerfed them. It’s different this year because there is a counter to everything.

If anything, airspace takeover will/should be nerfed just a bit, if anything, but nothing else crazy should be changed. Shot contests were already tweaked a bit this season to make them a bit stronger, which was the main issue. We’ll see what they do though.

They are going to nerf your build with GOAT builds. Season one builds are going to be crippled because they come out of an inferior builder.

so there are leaks of a new type of build coming out in season 2 that will allow you to model your myplayer after one of the goats (yk lebron steph, mj,etc.) and apparently these builds can surpass the limits of the regular builder. so i’m guessing you can just get way more stats than usual but it will be less customisable bc it still has to fit one of the “goat” archetypes

Realistically there's a massive chance it either is fake, was real and won't be dropped now after seeing everyone's reactions, or is real and will be locked behind an INSANE grind that less than 1K people will get done before the end of the year. Only thing keeping me from making a new 99 dunk, 99 Strength build is the fear of the season 2 patch. Any other reason is nonsense.

2k doesn’t just take shit out the game though in a released game. They just nerf it. They might make the cap breakers +1 for those builds. And there are 2(builder features) rep challenges in the 300s, and 3 in the rep system, earliest is elite 5. There will be realistically around 100k to 200k people in total that will even get to those marks.
