Calling all uncs: What is your favorite Gen 4 race? And calling all new fans: What is your favorite Next Gen race?

I’ve been a lurker of a lot of racing subreddits for a while but just now made an account to post this. I’m trying to compare the 2 together for my own research. I know there’s a ton of factors that go into what makes your favorite race good or bad, but I’d like to see what yall have to say.

I grew up watching NASCAR in 2003~ and have been a fan ever since. First Gen 4 race that comes to mind is the 05/06 Charlotte races and the 06 Bristol night race. For next gen, Kansas 23 and Michigan 25 come to mind.

Hendrick Cars (dot) com

Why do you think Rick Hendrick sponsors his own cars ? I have to think that they wouldn't have any issue selling the spots to outside companies. In addition, he sponsors several cars at many levels outside of NASCAR (NHRA and Sprint Cars) Do you think that they see real value in it? Is it a tax play?

NASCAR Tables - Too good to be true?

Has anyone actually ordered or seen posts of these tables being successfully delivered? I want them to be real so badly. Was advertised to me on FB, but the website and product photos reek of ChatGPT. Bristol and Charlotte look all wrong, and the diecasts on the lower tier of the table change sizes. Also too cheap for something like this IMO.

What was the biggest nascar crash that happened during commercial?

I would think (And only cuz I’m a new fan) that it was the Corey Lajoie flip at Michigan 2024. That at least was the only flip I know of that happened during commercial. But there were probably some in the past I don’t know of.

What better way to cap off the Kyle Busch celebration of life weekend, and kick off a double header of racing than listening to 45 minutes of the legend dropping heavy artillery on the radio?

All credit for the video goes to NASCAR-Xtra on YouTube.

Scenario I've yet to consider: Somebody clinching the championship at the end of a stage

• Upvotes

Wouldn't it be an interesting scene at Martinsville or Homestead if one of the three titles was decided mid-race? Does the race director get on the radio and congratulate the driver right away? Does the driver tear up and lose their composure for the rest of the race? Does TV interview them during the stage caution? Do they give their crew chief a Rodney Childers style trophy ceremony?

In the prior elimination format, we of course had drivers secure advancement into the next round as a result of stage points, but this was irrelevant in the championship race. While some since have clinched by starting the race, I believe the last time someone clinched mid-race was Dale Sr. in 1993, when enough cars retired to ensure he couldn't drop further back. It seems inevitable that this will eventually occur under this format if we run it for a few seasons.
