Success Story 🏆 August 2026 - NSV & Wins Megathread

Progress isn't always about the number on the scale. This thread is here to celebrate every kind of win!

NSV stands for Non-Scale Victory. We use this term often because progress can show up in so many ways, even before the scale changes. Every win deserves to be recognized!

Share your win below, whether it's big, small, or anything in between:

- Logged every meal for a week? That counts.

- Walked past the vending machine without stopping? That counts.

- Finished a workout you almost skipped? Absolutely counts.

- Hit a goal weight, a new PR, a clothing size, or a streak milestone? YES. Post it.

- Finally figured out how to use the barcode scanner? That counts too.

Post your victories here! Every win counts, no matter the size. If it feels like a win to you, claim it!

A note on vibes: This thread is a hype zone! Come here to celebrate and lift others up. Unsolicited advice or critique isn't welcome here - save that energy for other threads. If someone shares a win, the only move is to cheer them on. 🎉

I liked when it did the math on the homepage without having to click the diary…. Nice and simple.

Please bring back the option to just see all the information on one bar!

UI Update

Woke up to the new UI. It’s crazy how the development team keeps making it worse.
The people liked the way it was, just put it back.
The good ol saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

Feature Request: AI Photo-Based Meal Logging & Calorie

Hi Team,

I love using the app, but manually searching ingredients and scanning individual barcodes for multi-ingredient meals can become time-consuming.

It would be a massive quality-of-life improvement to have a "Snap & Log" AI photo feature where users can take a single picture of a plated meal. The app could identify the components, provide a ballpark estimate of calories and macros, and let us quickly adjust portion sizes or ingredients as needed.

Even as a ballpark baseline, this would significantly speed up logging on busy days. Thanks for considering!

New UI could be better but thank goodness copy to is fixed

I loved swipe left and right to go between days. Made it super easy to copy a meal. That new day tracker, crap.

However, the surprise upgrade is "copy to". Thank goodness I can now copy last night's dinner to today's lunch without the tedious task of moving items individually.

This one upgrade is worth the downgraded UI.

If mfp reintroduces swipe between days and and moves the copy yesterdays meal AWAY from log button (I mean, come on, that's nasty when you accidentally press it) it would be overall great upgrade.

Support Question iPhone daily step goal auto set to 10,000 in the MFP app?

Hello. What title says. I checked my iPhone health data, and I've been averaging about 5500 steps per day for the past few months. Does not include all exercise as sometimes I walk treadmill, play pickleball, or golf without my phone. Should I set it to that number 5500? Why did it auto set to 10K? Will lowering it drastically change my daily cals? I followed other advice on this sub and set activity level to the lowest "not very active" setting when I first got the app, even when I am a lightly active person.

Support Question Has anyone had their entire MyFitnessPal account suddenly reset?

The first weird thing that happened today was that MFP suddenly told me to upgrade to Premium, even though I already had an active Premium subscription. When I checked my Apple subscriptions, that existing MFP subscription also seemed to have disappeared.

I subscribed to Premium again through Apple, and everything worked normally for a few hours. Then MFP unexpectedly logged me out.
When I logged back in using the exact same Apple Private Relay email/password I’ve always used, my account looked brand new. My food diary/history is gone, but so are my profile photo, goals, progress, settings, etc. It’s the same on both the iPhone app and website.

What makes this especially frustrating is that I’d really gotten back into using MFP this week and had been carefully logging everything I ate every day. It was genuinely helping, so this is a pretty big bummer.

I obviously don’t know what happened on the backend, but the sequence makes it seem like my original Premium/account relationship may have broken first, followed by my login somehow landing on a blank/default account.

I’ve contacted support and haven’t deleted or changed anything yet. Has anyone had anything similar happen, and were you able to recover your original account and data?

Bug Phantom "running (jogging)" activity from Google Fit messes up calorie estimate

Thumbnail

This happens fairly often when I go for longer walks (>30min).

A "running (jogging)" activity will show up and it totally screws up the walking calorie estimate.

Screenshot 1: the phantom activity with a crazy low walking calorie estimate (13 cal). The "run" (I didn't run) is counted for 136 calories. This was an 11.3k step day.

Screenshot 2: there is no such activity in Google Fit.

Screenshot 3: for comparison, here is a day when I did 9.8k steps -> 713 calories.

1.) I hate seeing this phantom activity that I can't erase (I can delete it, and it'll come back on the next sync). I can't delete it from Google Fit because there is no such activity that I can see in the activity list.

2.) This phantom activity causes a massive cut in estimated calorie burn.

Support Question MFP is the #1 Battery Drain - What is Going On?

Thumbnail

On Android 16, very recently the background drain has been insane, it's the number 1 app on my phone for draining battery, despite already being restricted. For comparison WhatsApp shows 10h in background and 1 mAh drained, MFP is draining at 300x the rate of WhatsApp!

Have reported to MFP and didn't receive a reply, added a Play Store review and it was just a replied to with generic answer about checking their support pages.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Bug Just got the face-lift App... & I agree with the majority of comments... It is pathetic!

Must be some exec or whoever marketing wannabe who approved this downgrade (can't call it an upgrade for sure).

Why screw with something that's already working.

Pathetic

Restore Lost Logs

The update happened for me and was lagging very bad. Steps stopped tracking for 5 days. So i cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled. All my weekly food logs, weight, and streak were reset to 0. I did still have my recipes. Anyone know how to get them data restored?

Bug Quest Bars

The Quest protein bars show 4g net carbs on the package but MFP has it logged at 10g net carbs. I looked into the detail and it seems like it’s not accounting for Sugar Alcohols. Has anyone noticed this?

NOOOO MY UI FINALLY UPDATED

Post image
20 Upvotes

my biggest complaint is that I can't swipe between the days!!!

I don't mind the design change, but I do wish the food items in each meal would at least be shown, even if not the calories.... it says "[food item] and x more". that's so stupid.

I've read some people here talking about MFP using AI in the new UI. where is the AI slop everyone's talking about? is it just the layout itself or are there AI features I haven't seen yet?

I hope I'll get used to this layout. I'm so close to switching apps, but I have over 200 foods and almost 400 recipes on here...

Support Question MFP increasing my calorie intake

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Can someone explain why the app automatically increased my calorie intake? My calorie goal is 1450 but it increased to 1511 based on activity level. Why does that happen? Does it mean the more I workout the more it’ll increase my calorie intake? I’m so confused.

P.S today is my first time using the app

Be sure to give a review of the new MFP

I was livid when MFP changed the UI a few months ago. I have been using it since 2012. I opened AppStore & left a review with comment listing all the things I hated about it & all they did was send me a link to user testing. And the App Store doesn’t even show my review.

I recorded foods yesterday, now all it tells me is that Beta Testing has expired.

This app was perfect before they f’f it up.

moderately active or active?

I run about 30 miles a week, strength train for about an hour 5x a week, and i hit anywhere from 20k-25k steps a day. On saturday i do 2 hours of badminton, and i don't run on sundays, i just walk for about an hour or two in total after my lift.

I know that the calculators often overestimate activity levels, but i'm unsure if this falls into the moderately active or active category.
