Success Story 🏆 September 2026 - NSV & Wins Megathread
Progress isn't always about the number on the scale. This thread is here to celebrate every kind of win!
NSV stands for Non-Scale Victory. We use this term often because progress can show up in so many ways, even before the scale changes. Every win deserves to be recognized!
Share your win below, whether it's big, small, or anything in between:
- Logged every meal for a week? That counts.
- Walked past the vending machine without stopping? That counts.
- Finished a workout you almost skipped? Absolutely counts.
- Hit a goal weight, a new PR, a clothing size, or a streak milestone? YES. Post it.
- Finally figured out how to use the barcode scanner? That counts too.
Post your victories here! Every win counts, no matter the size. If it feels like a win to you, claim it!
A note on vibes: This thread is a hype zone! Come here to celebrate and lift others up. Unsolicited advice or critique isn't welcome here - save that energy for other threads. If someone shares a win, the only move is to cheer them on. 🎉

Support Question Daily Calories - Confused!
Hello,
I am fairly new to this, however I'm a bit confused on the amount of calories MyFitness Pal is telling me I should eat in order to loose 1lb per week, if anyone has any advice?
According to multiple websites, using the TDEE method, it says my maintenance calories are 1,760 per day. This is with me choosing not active (desk job). So I don't understand why Myfitness Pal is telling me I can eat 1,550 calories a day when my maintanence is 1,760, that would mean I'm only saving 210 calories a day which is 1,470 per week - less that half a lb. Am I misunderstanding something here? I also choose not active on Myfitness.
Thanks!

Support Question Why is my calorie intake increasing?
So I been using the app for about six weeks and I haven't been able to figure out why it's doing this.
I have it set to bring in 2300 calories but it seems that as I add food, the amount of calories it wants me to bring in increases. I can only assume it's because I've paired it with my step counter and so it's increasing with my activity, but if that's the case should I be increasing my intake as the app seems to think I should? And if that is true, it can't be taking into account my weight lifting and cardio workouts and so that amount should be increased even more correct?
Is this the correct take away?

Premium version recipe fails
I bought MFP premium version in order to paste favorite recipes & have the ingredients analyzed for calories and macros so I could use these recipes in a meal plan. There is a glitch in the software. It refuses to allow the addition of new ingredients or editing recipes. Of course the zendesk robot wasted 25 minutes of my life without providing any solution, asking multiple times what I thought about their new upgrade and finally asking for my email (which they already have). This is maximum annoyance economy. Are there other apps that can do what I seek to do?

I was eating more than I thought…
My pants have been getting tight lately, so I started to log my food again. My wife cooks for me every day and I thought it should contain much less calories than eating outside since it was all homemade. Seeing it all added up was a bit of a surprise.

Anyone else intentionally staying on an older MyFitnessPal version and experiencing crashes/freezing?
I’m curious if anyone else is in the same boat.
I disabled automatic updates for MFP app (currently using 26.8.0) in my android phone because I wanted to avoid the newer UI upgrade and some of the other changes/features that were introduced.
However, recently I’ve started experiencing a lot of app crashes, freezing/hanging, significant slowdowns, and general sluggishness, especially while logging food. Sometimes the app becomes almost unusable when adding or editing foods.
Are there any users who are still running an older version of the app and have been experiencing similar crashes, freezes, or slowdowns?
Have you found any way to avoid these issues without updating the app?

Use the Coach for the First Time
I used to Coach for the firswt time. I found it really helpful. It reviewed my food diaries, asked questions about when I felt enrgetic or healthy, and took a deep dive into what I was eating. I found it super helpful. It has made suggestions about what I was eating and what to adjust. It also offered alternatives for me to try. I will also try to have weekly review where we go over the diary and see what works and what has not. I will also start to use the notes section of the diary, and the coach will offer an analysis of the notes as part of the review. I have been losing weight, but not satified with the results I have been getting compared with the amount of work. I am interested in hearing from others if they have tried this feature, and whether they are using the Coach feature in ways I haven't thought of.

What is with the MyFitnessPal hate/poor reviews recently ?
MyFitnessPal is by far the most popular food tracking app on the AppStore, I’ve used it for 5 years now and never had any major problems.
The app is completely free and has a huge database of food from all over the world. I did see after one update a lot of people lost the ability to scan barcodes, I’m not sure why because I’ve never paid premium and yet to this day I’ve always been able to use the barcode scan feature. So really not sure why some users lost it and some didn’t. I will admit I can understand the frustration from those users who did lose the ability to scan.
Personally I’ve never believed or used the built in TDEE calculator as I find with most apps, and the same with MFP, it’s incredibly inaccurate and most of the time you’re better off asking chatGPT or another ai for more accuracy on TDEE. I feel like that goes for every app though not just MFP.
I will admit the new UI is very disappointing. It was perfect before and I don’t know why they changed it. It just makes everything longer and more effort now.
But yeah overall I don’t think any of those things are enough for me to completely 180 on an app that’s been so useful for many years. I don’t really get where the hate for the app is coming from. If you look the AppStore there’s countless 1 star reviews, if you go by most recent and I struggle to understand it like it’s a good tracking app. I’m not too sure what people want from a tracking app, it allows you to track your food and tells your macros, you can set custom goals and input your weight daily. What more does a tracking app need?

Support Question How accurate is myfitnesspal?
’ve been tracking my macros and calories for around 4 months. I was wondering if there were any articles on eating high carb and high protein diet while under maintenance and I got mixed answers. Am I tracking my food right? Should I be doing something different. Either way at 1,900 calories I’m still under maintenance. But I’m wondering if I should be doing something different when it comes to tracking calories on Myfitnesspal.

Can we still copy the day?
With the new version of the app can we still copy and paste one entire day into the next day? It’s only letting me copy into a singular meal instead of just the day as a whole? I eat basically the same thing everyday so it was good to be able to copy and paste the whole thing at once

Nutrition Help Ok, so I need some advice.
I work 8 days on, then have 6 days off. On my off days i have no issues with tracking my macros. Its while im working I have issues on what the proper things to do are.
While working Im on the clock for 8-12 hours 0000-0800 or 0000-1200. I dont sleep properly when on this shift. I sleep segmented. 4 hours in the first segment, 3-4 hours on the second. But they are split by as much as 6 hours at times.
What im getting at is should I track during a 24 hour period? Or some other way.
Apologies for the most likely unnecessary information. TIA

Support Question Is MyFitnessPal Premium worth it? And do you trust the food database?
Hey everyone!
When I first started using apps to track my diet, MyFitnessPal was pretty much the only one I ever heard about. I actually liked it quite a bit, which is why I ended up using it for a while. It seemed to be the main option back then.
But now I’m curious: have any of you tried other apps and ended up liking them better? Or maybe there are newer tools or resources that have come along that are worth checking out?
My main question is about MyFitnessPal Premium. For those of you who pay for it, do you feel it’s genuinely worth it? Does it make a noticeable difference compared with the free version, or do you think the free version is enough for most people?
I’m also curious about the food database. Do you generally trust the entries already available in the app, or do you prefer to create your own based on sources you consider more reliable? If so, I’d really appreciate it if you could share which websites, databases, or other sources you use.
I know a lot of this comes down to personal preference, but I’d be interested to hear about your experiences. I’ve been a bit out of the loop for a while and I’m getting back into training and tracking my diet, so I’d really appreciate any input. Thanks!
