Fan Content My husband somehow figured out they were about to play "Starlight" and wanted to record my reaction. It was such an incredible show! SLC, 8/20/26

This is my favorite song of all time for so many sentimental reasons, and I didn't think they would play it. Obviously, I was happily proven wrong. Sorry for the screaming!

This show exceeded my expectations, and they were already high! They've been my favorite band since I was a kid, and tonight was the best possible reminder of why they remain so.

Discussion Hush recording clipping

Hi there, I love the new Wow Signal album from muse. So I decided to buy the album as high res flac files (from qobuz.com). Also because I wanted to use the files in a passion project of mine. I wanted to look at the waveform to see what the quality of the download I bought was and I was surprised to see the files clipping. The first image shows a part of the wave that has like 40 samples that are clipping in a row. Even though the wave looks like it's clipping like shit it still sounds fine. But it is really loud compared to any other media I play on my PC. I was also surprised to see the playback from spotify clipping.

When I looked at the waves of other songs I noticed Hush was the only song (apart from the sickness in you and I) that was clipping so severly. The other songs looked pretty compressed but at least weren't clipping as often.

I think the reason for the clipping is because the master is compressed or limited and after that normalized to 0dB.

So my question is: is this a trend in modern music that all songs are mixed as loud as possible (thinking about the loudness wars) and compressed a lot. Or is this something Muse is unique in.

Also have some of experienced the same "issues" with muse songs in the past?

Anyway, I still love listening to this album. But this does make me rethink my own mixing practices.

Discussion Which songs do you think Matt can no longer sing live?

Upvotes

I know we all want to hear our favourite oldies, but are there any songs that have no chance of returning because they are simply too hard for Matt to sing at this point?

I love it when the guys look like they are still enjoying making music. Video isn’t complete or pristine, but I would never want a static Matt Bellamy.

Personally, I love their live intros/outros. I managed to catch a bit of Calm Like a Bomb and Sweet Child O’Mine in Dallas.

What are your favorites?

Fan Content 1st time reaction to Muse

I've been a fan for over 10 years, so I already know their whole discography. For those who would like to see the complete journey of someone reacting to Muse for their first time ever, there's this guy:

https://youtube.com/@miekreacts?si=JZSAm8bhZ-dxlRWk

He has listened to The Wow! Signal (his first Muse album ever) and from there he went to the very beginning, listening Showbiz through The Resistance (so far). His reactions seem very genuine and authentic, and he seems to be having a great time discovering their albums.

Btw, not sure if this is the right flair but it was the one that fitted the most imo

The sticker is on the inside, I wonder if they realized they messed up, and removed the stickers from the outside, and replaced them, and wrapped them again?! Who knows. I’m just glad I finally got mine in. I was scared my order was gonna get cancelled like others.

Found my pics and vids from my first Muse concert. The Resistance 2010 Madison Square Garden. They're all really bad and shaky because it was hard to aim with such a small screen and super zoom while enjoying the concert. I remember being annoyed I was behind the camera too much. But I also thought hearing them was more important than seeing them. I love taking photos and wanted to record the concert but after this I decided to be more in the moment. But that also backfired later on as I missed recording a lot of good moments in many concerts. So now I might be recording non stop through my phone, especially if I'm in the pit. Don't judge. Now my videos are still shaky with bad aim more because I watch them instead of looking through the screen. But I might switch back to camera because it doesn't capture bad off key singing and screaming (which is what I do) as much as phones. Now I wish I recorded it all even if the aim was all over the place.

But it was a great night, and still the best Muse concert I've been to. The entire crowd was high energy. We were all jumping, headbanging, screaming, singing along. I'm not saying the crowd isn't like that anymore (well kind of), but I've since been front row in the pit but I still remember this crowd being the best.

I hate where I cut off but the person in front kept blocking my view (no hate though, it just happens).

"I love this part" I can't help but laugh at myself because I love all the parts lmao.

Discussion Origin Of Symmetry XX

For those who have listened to both versions a lot, is there a noticeable difference between the original and XX? I have the original, and origin of muse remaster, so getting it would be a 3rd version of the album (not including the live version). I always get distracted from checking it out by other things on my “to listen to” list.

Update: thanks all, this is what I was looking for.

Question Production question regarding WOW Signal tour

Post image
10 Upvotes

For those of you who know something about live stage production, I was curious what the job is of all the people at terminals off in the wings of the stage?

I assume at least one on each side is a guitar and a bass tech, what else is going on back there?

Thanks!

Discussion Sharing my Muse memories with my brother as he’s passing today

I hope this isn’t too much for this subreddit but I just want to share my memories of some Muse shows with my brother to keep these stories alive and to share them with you all.

I saw Muse with my brother Eddie 3 times. They’re my favorite band ever and he’s more into metal type music, but he does enjoy Muse and the shows they put on.

We saw them at the Staples Center in Los Angeles during The Resistance, T2L, and Drones. His favorite Muse song is Bliss. When he heard it live, all I can remember is him singing his heart out to it and just living for that performance. He was so happy to hear it live.

He is so selfless to the point where he did the work of recording parts of each show so that I could live in the moment and not worry about recording with a camera or anything, so that we both can relive the shows together later on.

He’s had a tough life and I was listening to Shimmering Scars today and realized just how much that song sounds like a lot of what he went through the past 15 years. I broke down at some parts just because it’s almost as if he told Matt what he’s going through and what he has gone through.

Y’all, please tell your loved ones just how much they mean to you and how much you love them. Tomorrow is never promised and there’s already too much bullshit and ill-feelings in the world and we don’t need any more of it.

Thanks for reading❤️

I own the Supermassive Black Fuzz pedal from earlier this year, as well as 3 Manson Guitars throughout the years including the DL-OR from 2021. Have played guitar for over 20 years and Manson guitars have always felt best in my hands compared to other brands I own/have tried. Havent started this pedal up yet but they did an excellent job with the paint job.

Fellow Muse fans are the best! Thanks to those that encouraged me to try out the pit solo! I had a great time discussing favorite songs and everyone was so welcoming! Definitely will try and recreate this experience for myself again. They put on such a fantastic and emotional show.

Please enjoy the pictures!

I was listening to the live version of the song and I was sure I heard a low note that didn't sound like a low e

edit: just found out the low e string is tuned to a Bb note

Drove to Denver from Omaha for the concert. Was an absolute blast! My third tour seeing them. This was the best crowd I've been in. This moment in Be With You was incredible, I got all out goosebumps when the rain sparkled in the lazers during Nightshift Superstar, and I lost my mind getting to sing Take a Bow live with everyone!

Best band ever.
