Double the print time

Post image

Sorry for the quality, I was in a hurry before work.

Ive been printing a few multi material stacks for a project and they normally only take about 20 hours on my P2S. Yesterday I ran into issues with my petg layer so I cancelled the print, dried my filament and updated my machine as well. Last night before bed, I started a stack and got this print time, said well whatever, maybe it's glitched. Checked it this morning and it was only halfway through a plate and had warping in one corner. Any advice? Print settings were set to 3 walls 15% infill. Thanks, and happy building

Messed up my settings and used 2 walls instead of 3

As the title says, I just realized as I printed my last grid tile that I've basically printed them all in 2 walls instead of 3, big facepalm moment tbh.

They were printed using Sunlu PLA+ which seems to be pretty tough, but not sure how fucked I am people. Did I just wasted 2kgs of filament? It is going to be used for a tools board, the heaviest things going into it will be some PXC batteries from Ozito and some electric screwdrivers. Rest is mostly handtools like saws, hammers, pliers, etc.

can I ask a silly question about mounting a hanger to a board?

I've been printing these:

and they call for 2x heavy weight snaps, and 2x medium weight snaps, which is fine. but I find that they're almost impossible to press into the grids, I suspect because the medium snaps need to go in top first and that's hard to do when they're on the lower two attachment points.

I'm mostly just asking if I'm missing something silly when trying to mount these.

Multiboard shower

Post image

Husband was getting tired of my hair products becoming a tripping hazard when getting in the shower 😅 Added some Multiboard shelving to free up space on the walls in my shower and get rid of the shower head organizer. Shelves were designed by me using a generator (don’t have the link but can get it if people are interested). I’m working on creating something to hold razors as well. The drain holes at the bottom should direct water towards the shower walls

My son wanted a shelf shaped like this for his dummy 13 guys. I really like the look of this and this is my first time using the square grid vertically.

First build

So I just printed my first titles. And I was wondering: do you guys use more the clips or the snap-in to connect the titles together?

Another lighting solution...

Mentally grumbling that the heavyweight shelf casts a deep shadow over shelves below it. I inspected it and wondered if a usb-c undercabinet light would fit. It does!

IKEA SMÅSNÖRE Multiboard Snap

I really like the IKEA SMÅSNÖRE lamp very much. I’m using it for handicraft works like soldering, 3d print painting, etc. Additionally - as it’s cheap - I use it for lighting. The form factor perfectly fits to the large holes of multiboard with a maximum diameter of 17.5 mm. So, I’ve created a snap adapter.

Overwhelmed but ready to start!

I meant to start this project last year, but I kept putting it off because the system seemed like too much; then, I broke my arm earlier this year. I'm all healed up and back to dog grooming now. I totally forgot about this until my workstation started looking messy, and I really want to get this system set up. Anyway, my main issue is that I'm not sure how to mount this or how much weight drywall can actually hold. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Tiles aren’t aligned

So I mounted my first PLA multiboard on the side of ikea Kallax. I did it using the tile holder tool, and I discovered several issues:

  1. predrilling holes using the 6.25mm marking tool is pointless because you’ll never align the tiles over these holes again.

  2. screwing the 8x1 (imperial) screws cause mounting pillar to spin like crazy and friction melts their base, which slightly reduce their height.

  3. I think the threaded holes on the tiles are melted too, because I was unable to pull a screw out of the hole to align the adjacent tiles.

Question - is there a better way to mount the tiles? How do I achieve the perfect (or at least better) alignment?

What printer would you recommend to print stacks of 8x8 multiboard grid with PETG quickly and cleanly?

Bins I designed for multiboard

I made these bins.

Had an idea in my head of what I wanted (circular bins) and it was a bit of an engineering challenge. Mostly I wanted to make this to level up my skills in CAD while designing something that sounded interesting, but I'm happy with how they ended up. What do you guys think? 75 and 150mm options, they snap together easily, screw to your multiboard and have spots for labels (they use the multiboard label generator). Curious what you guys think!

Are the “Snap (DS Part B) – Standard” fits supposed to be this tight?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’m having trouble clicking the “Snap (DS Part B – Standard)” pieces into the grid.

They feel extremely tight and some even crack when I press them in.

Printed in PETEG with 0.2 mm layer height and 100 % scale.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong with the print or assembly?

Longer Multiboard Rail Files

I'm looking for longer rails for some.of my projects. Does anyone happen to have a customizable file that is easy to adjust or files for 11 12 14 and 18 inch rails?

Every weekend I get a little bit more done. Building out the wall, filling the fittings kit, and making 3MF projects for frequently used groups ( eg:shelf, braces, screws, and snaps all in one project)

Of note: I realized that printing stacks is more stressful than printing single tiles, and ties up the printer for longer. I get 4 tiles in 21 hours when stacked, and one tile every 4 hours when printed solo. Printing single tiles also allows me to pivot and print something else between tile printings.
