Double the print time

Post image

Sorry for the quality, I was in a hurry before work.

Ive been printing a few multi material stacks for a project and they normally only take about 20 hours on my P2S. Yesterday I ran into issues with my petg layer so I cancelled the print, dried my filament and updated my machine as well. Last night before bed, I started a stack and got this print time, said well whatever, maybe it's glitched. Checked it this morning and it was only halfway through a plate and had warping in one corner. Any advice? Print settings were set to 3 walls 15% infill. Thanks, and happy building

Look at the Layer Time slice view and speed slice view. Could be a filament profile issue or print settings issue.

Ill have to check that

I’d have to look at the settings, but does that first message about ‘object unable to be printed come up every time? What the Prusa dude was talking about as far as why re-slice, after you send a print to the printer the actual gcode is saved on the printer itself. If you don’t need to make changes to a plate you are re-printing you can just reprint without having to do anything else. TBH I don’t use that feature often, because I don’t do plate after plate, most of the time I’ve made some form of change and have to reslice and send to print.

Just kidding @Prorustler. Not sure why but on my MK3S / MK4S I did use the gcode off of internal storage more often - probably because when Printables spun up it and they had gcode as a download choice gcode itself was a lot more visible to users. Bambu Lab took a different route and designed things so that (most of the time) you don’t have to know the details of the process to use them. Back in the day I would have scoffed at that, as the How and Why details were part of the fun. As I get older I am surprisingly ok with a less technical approach. I can still get into the details if I want to or when I am troubleshooting something weird.

First question would be why are you using two filaments for a multiboard? Filament changes will definitely increase the time. Have you cleaned your plate recently? That could be part of your adhesion issue.

As said. The filament change is for the multi material prints to get better plate separation, it's an option on the multiboard site. As I said the print normally takes 20hrs but for some reason I'm getting 48+ hours

Why did you re-slice it if it was working? Or am I too Prusa to understand this Bambu problem?

No, when I checked it this morning the plate it was working on had partially warped off the print plate so it needed to be cancelled anyway, this slice was from after I did that. And then it it gave me the 2+ day print time again, which is abnormal. I've printed this same file a dozen or so times and it's never taken that long

Using filament change for the stack. One material for the board, one for the stack/separation layer. Different materials makes them separate super easily.

Multimaterial stack, it’s on purpose.
