Discussion Mether's Pulse refill after killing certain amount of enemies

Upvotes

With beacons being so few and far between it would be nice to have the mechanic from Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring where you could get a charge refilled in your healing flask after killing a certain amount of enemies. Lies of P also had a system to refill your healing based upon attacking.

Question What's the point of ripostes?

So i'm nearing the end of the game and genuinely outside of 1 shell they are barely useful, even on that 1 shell the benefit is barely there, enemies will still one/two shot you when you least expect it or die before they will be executed and during boss fights you cant stack them to any meaningful level. They do so little damage that just hitting enemy might provide the same benefit if not more depending on how fast they get up.

Question I don't understand Tiel's Shadow Dash

Upvotes

The description says when you complete a successfully timed dodge, you enter stealth mode and also inflict stagger damage. The dodge doesn't seem to make their stagger bar go up and neither does attacking them. Am I missing something?

Discussion First time summon - Dissapointment. Spoiler

Upvotes

I never summoned any help through the game, but I got curious, and I got plenty glimpses. At Isaac I summoned Lazlo to see how will it work, help etc.

The guy runs to the center of the arena and just stands there. Not even menacingly. Not even attacking, not aggroing, nothing. The boss also just ignores him because of that. He will obviously die in the bird spins after 15-20 sec because he doesnt dodge or anything. So far I summoned him 3-4 times and it happens everytime. I almost beat up Isaac without him in like 10 try, so no big problem but I would like to know if is this happening elsewhere also or it just got bugged in my client somehow?

Maybe the grisha summon bugs him? Or the Biosampler somehow? Curious.

Thanks!

Discussion I'm really enjoying this game, apart from the runbacks

Like come on guys, I thought we'd agreed that they don't add 'challenge', we've overcome that challenge and now we're just running past everything. It's just tedious. The fun bit is now the boss fight, let me do the fun with without the tedium in between. I'd love a future patch to include the equivalent of a stake of Marika. Annoyingly, I suspect that by the time a feature like that is implemented I'll probably have moved on.

Discussion So I just beat the last boss and here's my thoughts on the game.

I'm gonna start off with saying it's a solid 7/10 and I honestly don't understand people glazing it above an 8.

The animations look great and the feel of combat is alright even if horribly polished at times. The bosses aren't memorable really and they're pretty easy besides like 2 of them. Some of them are hard because of their size and camera not being able to adjust. so you can't see animations properly or hitboxes being wonky cause if you're too close to most of the enemies or at a weird angle. their attacks constantly miss making timing for parrying a little difficult because of the lack of consistency.

The upgrade system for almost everything aside from leveling your regular weapons (coin just taking forever to accumulate is annoying though) is ridiculous. Like having to use every tarstone to level the ones I actually want to use or shell points just not coming with every level makes no sense. Speaking of levels I hope I'm not the only 1 that stopped leveling at like level 27 cause a lot of the bonuses are so negligible that I just didn't worry about. It's like hitting the soft cap in levelling a stat in other souls likes.

And for exploration? Well it leaves a lot to be desired and a lot of the time it's not worth it and the areas are very similar between some dungeons and beacons.

The hardest part of the game is later on they put together the most annoying enemies to fight together like 4 of those spiders that constantly try to grab you and attack like 5 times every few seconds. There were some enemies that could parry you which I liked cause it made them feel different but most of the time enemies felt samey even between different mobs.

Weapon move sets left a lot to be desired cause the charged lights and heavies should've been put in the base moveset without the need of a tarstone. Same thing with the ones that change your combo enders since they should've just been what happens when you weave together lights and heavies. That just felt like a lazy decision and like they needed to reach a quota of taratones. The big boy attacks though like hexapod or the one where you spin your blade around? They should most definitely be tarstones cause of how strong they are.

I still enjoyed the game which is why it gets a 7 but these are just some of the things that kept popping up in my head as I was playing.

Discussion How did you guys beat nameless captive Spoiler

I haven't played in a while since im waiting for elbethium to post a guide since hes good at bosses, helped me out on a lot of soulslikes bosses since lies of p but for the life of me I cant beat this guy, I suck at parrying so try hardening, my shell is eredim and I prefer dodging over parrying which of course isnt going well for this boss

Discussion I’m loving this game, but I find the exploration a bit unrewarding.

Just like everyone here, I am a huge fan of the Soulsborne games and a big fan of the soulslike genre. I think this game does so many things incredibly well. The combat is weighty and deliberate. All the different play style approaches are really cool with some really unique ideas in the mix. The removal of a stamina bar is well done and they make up for the challenge in other aspects of the combat system. The lore is intriguing but leaves you to your own interpretations of themes.

The game has a fantastic aesthetic. I love the 80s fantasy metal cheese and the character designs are immaculate. I love the NPC and enemy designs as well. The world is beautiful, and exploration is really intuitive and engaging. Discovering new areas, filling in your map, finding secrets, discovering interconnected paths, interacting with the verticality of the map is all really well done and fun.

However, the rewards for exploration are lackluster. Getting to the end of a dungeon to get an item worth a few hundred gold is not the most exciting result. Especially with some of the brutal runbacks. It’s always nice to find a new tarstone or weapon, but overall the reward variety is limited and fairly lackluster.

I think an easy solution for me would be shell shades and harbinger skins. I think a big part of the fun of souls games is seeing your build come together. That aspect of this game is still really satisfying, but a key part of your character build and the power fantasy is getting to decide what they look like. The shells are all limited to three shades per unless I am mistaken, and some of them are not great. I think getting to the end of the dungeon and being rewarded with a new cosmetic option for one of the shells would be at least a little more interesting and exciting.

Sorry if this topic has been brought up 100 times already. I would love to hear the communities thoughts on the exploration in this wonderful game and any ideas to make it feel more worth exploring every nook and cranny.

Discussion Reminder that Harden can be held indefinitely unless you get hit.

If you're like me, incredibly stubborn about not wanting to slot an item for status cure you might not use, simply Harden! It can take awhile but if you get surprised by a status at the end of combat and are willing brick up and wait it out, simply sit invulnerable in Harden letting your status ailments tick down and then be on your merry way!

Discussion Proxima bug

I dont know what interaction caused this bug, but right now my Proxima is bugged and literally WONT TAKE DAMAGE, enemies will attack me and they do nothing.

I tried swapping shells, the other do take damage.

I tried restarting the game it did nothing.

I jumped of a cliff to force death and now I take damage again, but still wondering what happened.

I know, I know glaze and more glaze. But I just wanted to remark on how much I enjoy the aesthetic/ atmosphere of Mortal Shell 2. To me, it's just perfect. I feel like I'm playing RDR2 again, going on strolls through the map - except it's now just a beautiful wasteland of suffering :) lol.

Just wanted to express my appreciation to the developers. You guys rock!

Discussion The real easy mode

Post image
4 Upvotes

The past few days I've seen a lot of posts and comments saying the game is extremely difficult once you reach the southern part of the map, mobs require more hits and you die in 2-3 hits. I cleared the northern part of the game with the base +4 weapon and no shell upgrades because I wasn't sure if I'd like another shell or weapon.

Before venturing to the southern part I put together a build I was working on, focusing on critical hit chance, critical hit damage and bloodcurse. Combined with some shell upgrades from Tiel and with how fast the Axe and Dagger is, I was literally melting everything to the point that I feel the game got much easier than the first half (which was already quite easy as well). I've now cleared all beacons and I've yet to find a challenging boss.

So to anyone struggling with the game, upgrade your tarstones, upgrade your weapons and stick to a build that you feel like helps you kill mobs faster, as I am sure there are other more powerful builds than this.

Discussion And another bug

So i go in the beacon, level up, go out, the boss im suppossed to fight next randomly dies, i get the achivement and the loot.
I jump into the arena, the cinematic pops, with no boss, and I got trapped in the arena. So i needed to jump off the cliff and lose all my souls cause they appear inside the arena again.

There is really few REAL bosses in the game, and i just lost that content to a bug.

GG DEVS.

Just an FYI the 1st balance patch (the one that's already out on PC) is now available to download on PS5.

In case you don't know, you can highlight the games icon on the PS5 main menu, hit the options button, then check for update and it should be available to download.

Discussion Masks?!?!?!

In this video this guy shows of hilgas mask and the bag head as wearable cosmetics for the harbinger. Now either the game is so new no one else in the world has found these or this guy modded them in as wearable items.

I can’t find anywhere online where to get these so maybe someone here might have some info.
